Navigation difficulty

Have you ever been to a place in any of the games where the layout of the map was a chore to navigate? The worst one I can recall from my experience is Mt. Mortar, trying to get to the Black Belt for that Tyrogue. It demanded the use of several HM moves, as well as precision with what ledge you jumped off of. Route 123 at Hoenn and 145 at Johto were two others, but getting through them was not as hard. Sometimes it gets frustrating when you realize you jumped from the wrong ledge and end up having to return to the beginning of the Route to get there.

To name one, Terminus Cave in XY. Sometimes I struggle figuring out where I have to go to get that TM for Shadow Ball, and sometimes I even go in the wrong way and only end up in the small room where Brick Break is. Not a straightforward place!

For me, a lot of caves are the main culprits. If you don't read a guide and try to play off memory it can be difficult to find an item you desperately are looking for.

all major caves are pain if you don't have escape ropes or repels it's gonna be hell to exit that one and most dreadfully nightmare are wayward cave it's so puzzling and hysterically confuse, if you don't carry along with escape rope, well GG

Ice Caves and ice sliding puzzles. They're really time consuming sometimes and it's always a tiny detail you missed that prevents you from solving it. I won't lie though, I love them. They're so much fun to figure out and who doesn't like skating? :P

Route 132, 133 and 134 are particularly evil. Oh and along Mt. Mortar as Seth says. While Stark Mountain and Victory Road in XY can be grueling if you want to navigate the whole place.
