Need for Speed?

    Got Hot Pursuit (2010) a few days after it was released and it's just now occured to me to see if anyone else here plays. If so.. favorite cars, roads, style of racing, techniques, etc: toss 'em here. I'm also always looking for people to play with on xbox360.

    Kind of dubious that anyone here would play, but you never know.
     
    The last Need for Speed I bought was NFS: Underground 2. Since then none of the NFS games have been appealing to me. I really want a NFS: Underground 3 but I've got Burnout: Paradise to satisfy my racing needs.
     
    I've had great fun playing NFS Hot Pursuit 3 on PS1 with friends before. I also had one NFS game for the DS and one or two for the PC, but they weren't as much fun so NFS is one of the few games I liked better in multiplayer than in singleplayer.
     
    I had fun playing Need for Speed: Underground, even though I kept losing in most of the races. It was still nice trying to fight for first place.
     
    The last Need For Speed game that I purchased was Need For Speed: Shift on the Xbox 360 and I did enjoy it - only for a short while though. I ended up having to trade it in for some money because it ended up sitting on my DVD rack unused and gathering dust after a month. That's my problem with the Need For Speed series - the longevitiy is lacking. I will attempt getting it on the PC (once I get the funds for a PC with good specs) and hopefully the mods and add-ons will increase the longevity.
     
    I actually just recently got Hot Pursuit as well, though I haven't played much of it. It feels so different compared to the previous games. Has no real story and the lack of customization to your cars is really heart breaking. As for the multiplayer though, haven't had the chance to try it as I bought the game used and don't feel like getting a new EA code yet... friggin ridiculous.

    I really haven't been into NFS since Carbon though. I enjoyed Undercover some bit, but it got really old. The thing that really got me into Carbon were the drifting tracks, my goodness those were fun and I really miss them. ProStreet and Shift/Shift2 are really not my thing either, not into the whole "professional" racing aspect of the games. I love the ridiculousness of the street racing ones. They've got a new one coming out sometime this year too I believe, called The Run. From the teaser trailer, it looks like it's somewhat of a return to the style of Most Wanted/Carbon, which has me really excited for it.
     
    I've only ever played Most Wanted, Carbon, and then Hot Pursuit. I agree that the removal of parts upgrades was very very disappointing at first, as was the complete lack of a plot.. told SO before we bought the game about allll the upgrading available (coming from Forza, so yanno), then.. BLERGH

    But the online playing is absolutely fantastic and definitely worth it, depending on who you play with. Some people are so absurdly skilled and clever it's fun just trying to work towards their level and/or mess with them til one of you wrecks. Come to think of it, that's nearly the only reason I've kept playing so long..
     
    I've played Carbon, Underground and Shift.

    All of them were too short (and my Underground save got corrupted) so I didn't really play them long. I prefer Forza which has a lot of lifespan.

    I might pick up Shift 2 at some point.
     
    I play the free browser game version (because I'm a student, with no money :/ ) - Need for Speed World. Not bad considering!
     
    Pf. NFS Most Wanted was the best. Though im still learning on the races and all, since my "friend" gave us his save file :D [I like the free roam. and cops ofcourse :)]
    Though I think we also have underground 1 or 2 (we bought one of them they gave us the other.) Also have pro street. Didnt play for more then 5mins lol. We might have carbon too. idek.
    I hope to get hot pursuit too, looks amazing. for wii ofcourse. dont have a xbox (and if its on ps3, dont have that) and dont want them. woooo.
