New FR/LG Monotype Challenge

[Shining Meganium]

I have just started the bug mono on leaf green.

I have caught caterpie and weedle in viridian forest and am now proceeding by training them in various grass's so that they will be strong enough to get through it.

Final update ooo :)
-Grinded until all my pokemon were on 62 before going into the league
-Battled Lorelei first, who was pretty darn hard with her slowbro because I had nothing good against it.
-Bruno was pretty easy
-Agatha put up quite a fight but the mixture of moves that I had weren't too shabby against her.
-Don't even get me started on Lance, he was really tough... Cloyster kept getting beat easily.. but Blastoise knew ice beam anyway.
-Blue was easier than Lance, but his venusaur put up a challenge but Gyarados' fire blast beat him in the end.

Ending team:
Blastoise level 64 - Surf/Earthquake/Hydro Cannon/Ice beam
Gyarados level 63 - Thrash/Hydro pump/Surf/Fire blast
Poliwrath level 63 - Brick break/Submission/Water gun/Body slam
Cloyster level 63 - Spike cannon/Surf/Aurora beam/Blizzard
Seadra level 62 - Surf/Secret power/Double-edge/Hydro pump

So I am officially finished this challenge. Quite sad because I loved my water team :( Sorry I didn't give any pictures, but I was using my real game not an emulator. :P

Update: Torched Blaine

Since my last update:
-Went to the Safari Zone, obtained Surf
-Obtained Strength
-Went through the Seafoam Islands, level grinding as much as possible
-Arrived on Cinnabar Island
-Retrieved the Secret Key
-Went through the gym, battling trainers instead of answering questions
-Took on Blaine

Blaine battle: Blaine's team was a bit more challenging than previous gyms, but not by much. Dragonair made short work of Growlithe, using Thunder and Dragon Rage. Pidgeot squared off against Ponyta, but was quickly taken down by Fire Blast. Dodrio finished the job on Ponyta, using Fly to avoid Fire Blast and deliver some great STAB attacks. Charizard went up against Rapidash, and a few good hits from Slash took Rapidash down quickly. Finally, Gyarados went up against Arcanine, and took it down quickly with Hydro Pump.

Now, on to the Sevii Islands for some fun side questing and then a return to Viridian City for the last gym bade.

Took down Giovanni

Since my last update:

-Side quested in the Sevii Islands
-Leveled up a lot thanks to the number of trainers on Treasure Beach and Kindle Road, as well as some decent-level Pokemon to grind on.
-Returned to Cinnibar Island
-Flew back to Viridian
-Fought Giovanni
-Fought Rival Derp

Giovanni Battle:
Does anybody ever have trouble with Giovanni? Most of his Pokemon went down with one hit. Golbat's Giga Drain took down Ryhorn (why would he use an unevolved Ryhorn on his team), and followed up by doing the same to Dugtrio. I switched out Dragonair for the second Ryhorn, but he was taken down. Gyarados leaped in the battle to put the hurt on Ryhorn, and Dodrio had no trouble ending Nidoqueen quickly with Hyper Beam. Finally, Charizard confronted Nidoking, and took him down with one Blast Burn.

Rival battle:
Afterwards, I fought my Rival, Derp, but he wasn't any more challenging than Giovanni. Dragonair took down Pidgeot with Thunder, but fell to Alakazam. However, he fell to the brute force of Charizard. Blastoise then came out, so I switched out for Gyarados. The two struggled against each other, but Blastoise's Rain Dance allowed some more power behind Gyarados's moves, which was funny considering Blastoise didn't use any water moves after his Rain Dance. Of course, Gyarados would pound down Ryhorn and Growlithe, and Charizard put the hurt on Exeggcute.

Now, on to Victory Road and the Elite Four! And finally I can evolve Dragonair into Dragonite to complete my Flying team.

Rina defeated Pidgey easily. After 1 potion, Bulbasaur was defeated too. Rina had 9 hp left. Rina grew to lv. 11.

-Defeated Bug Catcher Rick. Rina was poisoned. Used antidiote.
-Bought 4 Antidiotes
-Defeated Bug Catcher Doug. While battling, Rina grew to lv. 12
-Defeated Bug Catcher Anthony. While battling, Rina grew to lv. 13 and learned Water Gun. Rina forgotted Bubble.
-Defeated Bug Cather Charlie. Rina grew to lv. 14.
-Defeated another Bug Catcher and exited forest.

-After S.S Anne, both Jenny and Rina are on lv. 29
VS. JERK 4
Jenny OHKOed Pidgeotto with Water Pulse. Rina defeated Raticate with Bite and Mega Punch.Jenny used Dragon Rage to Ivysaur, who countered with Sleep Powder. After 4 Whine Whips Jenny woke up. (HP: 69/102) Dragon Rage killed Ivysaur. Rina OHKOed Kafabra with Mega Punch.
-Got Cut
-Captured Oddish, Miss Cut
VS. LT. SURGE
Voltorb was faster than Rina, but after 2 bites Rina had 46/83 HP left and Voltorb fainted. Rina OHKOed Pikachu and got paralyzed. Rina Mega Punched Raichu but it got crit Shock Wawe.
Jenny finished Raichu with Dragon Rage.
-Got Shock Wawe and badge!

► Struggled against Platypi but prevailed via Haunter/Nidoking ensemble



Notes:

I hate Bruno. He is a fighting trainer. Why does he have TWO Steelix? I had to replace Nidoking's Toxic with Fire Blast just to beat them.

Agatha was easy as pie since Haunter is great against his own type.

Platypi used Full Restore on his Tyranitar FOUR TIMES. In a row! I hate him. Tyranitar is cool, but his sprite in LG looks very... derp.

I named my Mewtwo Tybalt as a competitive nod to my boyfriend's Mewtwo named Mercutio. His stats are better than I expected.
(Lonely: 28 - 29 / 26 - 27 / 30 - 31 / 18 - 19 / 19 / 12)

Haunter touts a pretty good Special Attack and he was by far my favorite to use. Nidoking redeemed himself slightly, and I just plain hate Venusaur. Always have, always will.

I first defeated the Elite Four at 41:14. Finished the game at 51:28

I have officially started the challenge!

Update 1 - Chosen Type: Water

• Started a new game. Named myself Matt, and my Rival Douche.
• Withdrew a Potion from the PC incase of Douche scoring a critical hit in the first battle.
• Chose Squirtle. Douche chose Bulbasaur.
• Beat Douche with ease.
• Grinded Squirtle up to level 10.
• Picked up Oaks Parcel from the store clerk.
• Battled Douche again outside the Indigo Plateau entrance. Lost the first time, but got a considerable amount of Experience points from his Pidgey. Beat him the second time. Squirtle elevated to level 11.
• Delivered parcel to Oak and got Pokedex.
• Ploughed through Viridian Forest. Seriously, why don't bug catchers understand that evolving your Pokemon actually makes them better?
• Squirtle evolved into Wartortle.
• Beat Brock and his trainer. Pathetically easy.
• On the way to Mount Moon. Still debating whether or not I should buy a Magikarp from that guy in the Pokemon Centre. Do I want a Pokemon with a x2 weakness to electricity when I get to Surge's Gym? Hmmmmm.

Things that happend:

*Named Character Mika and rival Gary.
*Picked Charmander and named him Slave ^^
*Got to Veridian forest, i'm now lvl 8 with Slave.
*Camper Liam wasn't that hard neither was Brook.
*Slave is lvl 16 and evolved to a Charmeleon.
*Just caught a Nidoran F lvl 6 and named her Hinata, my first pokemon to the ground team.
*Going back to fight Gary and the other trainers that I skipped.
*Hinata lvl 16 and evolved into a Nidorina, Yay (:
*Caught Geodude F lvl 9 and named her Sakura.
*Sakura lvl 11 and she learned Rock Throw.
*Mt moon here I come ^^
