New section creation!

Should I find it weird that almost all of these answers are nonsensical and things that wouldn't be much productive, if at all? I mean I know we're talking for fun and not serious, but still.

Two sections, if I may: sport; tabletop games. Why sport topics have always come under Other Entertainment/Culture & Media I'm not sure. Lack of sufficient interest to warrant its own section, I suppose, but I don't think staff have ever tried a sport section, so they can't know for sure, if the culling and subsequent revival of the anime & manga section is any indication. As for tabletop, it was reasonably active before it was culled, afaik, and the removal of the section just coldly killed off the little community it had.

Would card games also fit into tabletop games? I'm not an expert, but what little games I play with friends are often card-based :)

And - there seems to be a huge interest in sport actually. But it is entertainment and culture and media so it's not exactly weird to put it there. Still. With all the followers I've seen, perhaps it could actually be a cool place on its own. inb4 the cray tennis talk spreads out from the staff forums... unless it already has.

Yes; that was the case before, at least. The Yu-Gi-Oh! thread was the most active in the section.

Except that there is also a huge interest in anime and video games —forms of entertainment media— enough for them to have their own sections (although the former had a relatively rough time in that regard). If there is also a huge interest in sport (I'm not sure myself), it may deserve the same treatment. Sport and games strike me as the first things that would deserve their own section(s); the basis for their existence in culture is different from that of uninteractive entertainment — they are essentially competitive activities.

How has anyone not mentioned the DCC's most often talked about topic:

The Weather?

We can have threads for each kind of weather! Is it raining where you are? Post in the raining thread! Snowing? Post your snowy creations in the Snow thread! Is there a hurricane in your area? Don't get blown away and post in the topic for that Hurricane. The DCC for the section would be the place to compare weather with everyone and say that your weather is worse/better for whatever reason. :)
Oh god it makes so much sense it hurts.

Jesus Christ how horrifying.

I have to agree with everyone that's saying PC needs a sports section. That way any sports talk wouldn't get lost in the shuffle either in GE or FC&G, and we could have mega threads any time a big event is going on like the Super Bowl, the Olympics, World Cup, etc. Aaand we could even run our own PC fantasy leagues (fantasy football, fantasy hockey, fantasy tiddlywinks- you name it!), with emblems going out to the winners.

Basically, if PC had a sports board, I would have no reason to ever leave, since right now I'm stuck with getting my fix of sports stuff elsewhere.

A cooking section. Lets be honest, food is amazing, its fun too cook, and I bet there are more line cooks in the forums that haven't come out yet. But you'd have to know the secret password, so the tricks of the trade don't get out. ;D
