    Greetings, It's December 2010 already, and that means New years eve will come around in just a few weeks. I was wondering how all of you are going to celebrate it, if you're even going to celebrate it. Are you going to set off huge amounts of fireworks, throw an enormous party or just enjoy the celebrations with your family?

    I live in the Netherlands, and since I was little we usually gather with the entire family (which is pretty large btw) and set off huge amounts of fireworks. I usually spend around €100 on fireworks each year and I really enjoy setting them off and watching how they explode in the sky.

    Your thoughts and experiences on New year's eve?

    My family just stays up till 12pm and watches the ball thingy drop near 12. we eat and stuff like that. thats all, but it's fun!

    For the past 5 years, me and my friends have all gone around a friends for a huge house party. His parents always go away for the holidays and they let us use for the New Year celebrations; this year is no exception. Haha.

    I stay up 'til midnight with my mum and brothers and watch the ball drop in NYC. We also have a bunch of snacks set up and stuff like that :D

    I usually just set around the house to wait for the ball to drop. Used to be there were more New Years countdown shows and they used to last lower but not it only lasts for an hour seems like.

    Our city has an apple drop every New Year's in the bar district (because we're the little apple!). Part of me wants to harass my roommate into going there, because I missed out last year, and I don't want to go alone. Don't think he'd be interested in it, though.

    ...most likely, though, I will stay at home and do what I usually do until midnight, and then go to bed. Sadly all the people I know have moved out of town and I'm sure I'll be working New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, so going out to visit or setting up a party seems like a waste.

    It's one of the few times I wish we still had cable; I wouldn't mind having the ball drop on as background noise, but I wouldn't want to stream it.

    I usually watch fireworks and a concert somewhere. I dont normally go into the city to see it on the Harbour Bridge, as it is too inconvenient with the traffic, considering there are major traffic jams on ordinary days XD

    My mum normally just invite a close family friend and her family over to celebrate, as celebrations with my family always turn sour :/

    Me and my family just stay up till midnight and watch the fireworks. While we wait, we have a bit of a party with a lot of food.

    I usually go to a party any of my friends are holding, then come back home and celebrate with my family. Buuut, this year, I'm going to travel to Switzerland, where my aunt, who invited us, lives. We are going to spend 1 week there. (:

    I usually stay at home with my family, and watch the ball drop on TV in NYC. We usually have tons of snacks and drinks so it's fun :3

    Oh man, New Years Eve here is so much fun! My mum's friends, and her boyfriend's friends come round to our house, and they have a few drinks (thank God I am not a drinker XD), get drunk, and start singing to really loud music on TV.. it's crazy! XD; I remember about two years ago, they all stayed up to 6am drunk and partying, I started to get annoyed because I wanted to sleep and they wouldn't turn the music off.. XDD; But that was when I was around 13, and a moody teenager back then. XD; I think this year, they'll likely do the same, haha. I wouldn't mind, because I'd probably join in singing with them, and being happy. <3 Being around & talking to drunk people, idk, it's funny. XD;

    Anyways! New Years Eve is one of the best times of the year, in my opinion. It's exciting waiting for the clock to hit midnight! It's a magical moment. c:

    I have no clue what I'll do. My family used to launch off fireworks, but they're old and lame now. '-'

    Last year, I wound up going to my best friend's house, and we set off fireworks, and then played boardgames. It was fun. I'll likely do it again this year. Maybe. ^-^;

    All I have ever wanted to do for New Years Eve is to go to New York and see the ball drop myself. Unfortunately this will mark another year I won't be able to go. I could go somewhere with my friends, but they're annoying when they drink and when they drink they want to go drive around and that is a pain within itself. I could stay home, but my parents under do it and I'll just be bored. I would like to go out and find something to do, but I know my parents will say something like, "Don't go out!" There are drunks on the roads!!"

    So I guess I'll just stay home and nap all day or watch a movie to pass the time. ;o;

    I don't necessarily have any kind of plans on New Years besides spend time on here, and have some fun with my family or some other activity, yes I do get invited to parties from other people but I'm not really a party person in all. Pretty sure I hear some fireworks going off, though I don't nessacrily pay attention to it unless they get to be annoying mainly teenagers, don't get me wrong I do like all the colors in the sky, but the noise is extremely annoying for me as I just don't like loud noises.

    Bit depresing, I know...

    I associate New Year's Eve with Christmas because my maw maw is busy working during the holidays and all her grandchildren have large families, so she waits til New Year's Eve and then has a Christmas party. Me and my cousins stay at her house playing SNES, watching retarded videos, and making up stupid games. Oh and let's not forget the presents and the food. :D Haha, probably one of the best nights of the whole year. :) I always look forward to it.
