Looky what I found~

It's a Media Centre for the Wii. It's still pretty new so not everything's working yet, but, it certainly sounds promising. Right now you can view pictures and videos (you need to convert the videos first though). The pictures slideshow and music playback is not functional yet though. Still pretty cool though.

If you want to keep you media where it is...

But the Wii already has a sideshow thing, and you can play your own music on it too. XD
I read somewhere that you can watch vids on the Wii, but to me, I'll be playing and not watching stuff (unless it's online) or viewing pictures.

Win for OS X compatibility. I can't even get my SD card to work, though. o_o When I was at the LAN, they were able to copy saves to the SD card and back, but mine doesn't even show up on the memory screen. I wonder if I need to format it, or something.

I don't have any videos to watch. The slideshow and pictures thing would be handy if you store you images on computer instead of SD cards, you'll always have access to them. The Wii should be the big open family type thing. So, have some relatives over and you decide yo uwant to show them picture from your last vacation. But oops it's on the computer, not an SD card, you'll still have access to slideshow capabilities.

I mostly just want this for music playback. I haven't figured out how to do that yet. I don't have Excite Truck, I don't have any MP3s on an SD card, I tried plugging my iPod into the Wii. So, this should do once it works.

It's free though, so, sucks for the people who pay for this kind of thing on their consoles. Free and optional.

I think there is a program or some hack that allows you to use your Wii to play your iTunes stuff. I think it was just the songs so I don't know if you can watch your videos on it too. I think you have to play and by reading the comments you can see that the admin page doesn't show up sometimes...maybe even all the time.
Here is the Wii Fanboy post

So I found out today that a bunch of stores in my area are getting shipments of Wiis in on December 31st. Do you think I have to go there "mad early yo" or should I just go a little before they're shipped (Wal*Mart ships around 12:00, I'm finding out the others tomorrow)? I can't go like 2 hours early because I'm but a wee lad (I'm 12 ;_;)

Thanks. I think I'll go about 20 minutes before they're shipped.

Stupid smilies!

For me the Wii is in my room or my brother's room (it was first set up in my room... but for some reason it ended up in my brother's room...), so it isn't a family thing. But I can see what you're saying. I mean the Wii is Wi-Fi, network it where you can do more then just surf the web.

That's one of the big pobs I have with the Wii. You can't just plug a thumb drive or an iPod to the Wii and play songs off it. You can do it with the 360 (not sure about the PS3) and it's very very simple (and you can even have the Legend of Zelda theme going when playing a game like Oblivion). And it could also be used for a HDD. Plug a 2 gig thumb drive in (and where the game files will play off the drive) move stuff over there and free up some space on the Wii. I guess they could update the Wii down the road where it could do it (I'm not the computer wiz, so I'm not sure if that could even be done down the road).

If you really want one then you need to get there an hour or two before they get the shipment. Because when I got mine it was at 8 am on a Sunday and they already had 13 people inline to get one, and the Circuit City across the road already had the 21 filled up (I got to the Toys R Us an hour before they opened, and Circuit City didn't open till 2 hours later).
But it depends on how high the demand is in your town. Me I live in a pretty big city (one of the largest in Georgia), and every store was sold out within a 30 min drive for who knows how long. I could have got a PS3 (20 gig... not the ver I want, but a PS3 none the less) last Saturday, walked right in and saw two there. But I have yet to see any Wiis sitting there unsold. So if you think the demand is high, you better get there early (early for the shipment).

I might be able to convince my mother to take me an hour before they get their shipment. Probably won't happen, though. =(

But if it does happen, where do you actually wait for it?

EDIT: So I called my local Target this morning to find out when their new shipment of Wiis was coming in. They said they got some today. I was soooo happy. But then I realized that my brother had my mom's car and my dad's car was being fixed. My brother came home with my mom's car 20 minutes later. By that time I was really doubting they had any Wiis left, because they only had five come in. We went down to Target and the guy said he just sold the last one. He was...kidding! I was actually the first person. They hadn't even put them on the shelves yet. So... I GOT A WII! Am I the last person here to get one? o.O All I have is Wii Sports, but I'm going to trade in some of my GameCube games at GameStop to buy Excite Truck. I also need a wireless router.

The wiimote is soo small.

Just saying that waka's got his Wii on Christmas, and having a heck of a lot of fun since then. XD My Wii Code is 1576-6763-3396-5242. PM me if you've added me.

GEEEEEEEET ZEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLDDDDDDDDAAAA! DDDD:

But it's great that you got a Wii. I know how hard you've been trying. Wish it was that simple for most people as it was for you today. XD

And Abby, there aren't any online-enabled games yet. Elebits utilizes WC24 somehow, I think, but Pokemon Battle Revolution is the first actual wifi game.

I've heard Battle Revolution sucks. Badly.

It's like Colosseum. Only without the story mode. No rental Pokemon. No minigames. Nothing. It's also selling very poorly in Japan.

I DUNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. =P

I'm really not that great at video games, and it just seems hard and what-not. -_- I'll try it out at GameStop and see how I like it. I saw a kid fishing there and he was using the nunchuck to reel it in. 'Twas cool, but I think I'd like to get a cheerier game first. Maybe once it goes down in price.

I also need a compatible wireless router for a decent price. Any suggestions?

If only Battle Revolution was a bit more of Pokemon Stadium/Colosseum type game. The Colosseum for the story mode and Pokemon Stadium because it had Pokemon mini games, who wouldn't want to play some of those with the Wiimote. I think it's just basically a 3-D battleground for people who have Diamond and Pearl, even though you don't need Diamond and Pearl to get the game it would make more sense.

Zelda's worth every penny of $50. And it's not hard - TP's actually one of the easiest Zelda games. XD

Router...get the $50 Linksys one from Walmart. It's the one I have, and it works great most of the time. Andy's got a nice one too, Netgear I think. Talk to him about it. XD

I think it'd be best if it was just like Stadium--I always found Colosseum to be too slow for a GBA-style story. o_o Just pack in a lot of fun minigames, battles, rentals. and management capability. That's what made Stadium/2 so much fun. So, it's already out?
