I wouldn't be too hard on them though. Those little stores have to get out there and make a name for themselves.

I think they're referring to the individual stores that sold them, rather than the whole Target and Walmart chains.

That would still be a bad idea, at least where I live where the only major retailer is Wal-Mart, so that's the only place for a town of 30,000 people to get their DSLites and other things like that. Maybe an individual store in a big city where there is more than one choive to get your items. That's not a lot of people but it's still a significant number, I'm guessing around 1,000 people out of those 30,000 will have DS's in it's entire lifespan not including people who buy more than one or that buy as gifts to other people.

So, what's the news for today...

ATi says that the graphics shown at E3 are just the tip of the iceberg. Call me stupid but I thought "tip of the iceberg" was a good thing, like icing on a cake. I've been wrong though. There's a whole ice berg beneath the tip that represents Wii's graphical capabilities. I still think that the graphics we saw at E3 were like that because they were just moded GCN dev-kits running off of modded GCN hardware (although, the graphics were still impressive)

And... Remember those faces that Miyamoto, Iwata, and Reggie had on that Wii sports demo. Miyamoto has said a bit more about it already, but now we have the creator of Wii Sports (and Animal Crossing) giving out some more info. These faces will be stored in the hardware and campatible games will uses the data. I guess that during online games only people who have your friends code can see your face.

How does the Wii get the picture? Is there a camera in the sensor? O_o

I plan on waiting untill the blue one comes out. (Or perhaps other colors...)

P.S.
100 bucks that the next post goes on the next page!
There's one in AL, a few hours away from me, but not like the got the money to get one. XD

And you can send me that 100 bucks since I need it for the Wii. XD

Apparently there have been reports that Nintendo has sent letters out to retailers blasting hte ones that sold the DS Lites early and saying that the stores that sold the DS Lites early shouldn't be planning on being restocked with Nintendo products anytime soon. oO;
Nah, it's not going to happen. Nintendo sends the stuff to a Wal-Mart supply warehouse and that warehouse puts the stuff on trucks and sends them to Wal-Marts all around. Them saying "You can't send it to story 58740" is like saying you can't send any mail to Georgia.

And here I thought at the Wii's graphics were good enough. But then ATi comes out and says "The chip we gave Nintendo has a far far higher use". Now it's up to Nintendo to say "We're going to put them graphics to good use" or "It's not needed". But at least we know it's there, and maybe isn't as low as most thought.

Maybe taking a pic, that or like Football games where you can edit your face and all that. I find it good and strange at the same time...

I think I'll have to settle witha white DS lite because GameStop is having a trade-in sale and I want to get it in and get the extra money, unless somebody pays me that 100 bucks from earlier! LOL

Well guys, bad news. Apparently Tingle RPG is coming out for the DS. The official name has been revealed as well.

"Tingle's Freshly-picked-rose-colored Rupee Land"

That's the actual title of the game. -_-
I hope this is a Japan-only release. ><

I'm getting kinda skeptical about this 3rd party fiasco with Nintendo with Wii.

I mean is there any hope that lots of 3rd party developer like Capcom, Konami, Rockstar etc. are most likely to make games that are ported from 360 or PS3 since Wii has the Remote as a controller?

That's one thing that always concerned me about the Wii. But a lot of developers have said that the Wii is actually easier and cheaper to develop for than the 360 or PS3. So maybe there will be more third party games than we'd think.

Nah, I don't think the Wii will end up with tons of ports. It's something new, not something next gen (or so says Reggie). If the specs are closer to the PS3/360 then we think then me thinks it won't have any run down ports.

So anyone saw the news on Pokemon, the date of the Wii, the price of the old games, and SSBB?

https://www.thewiire.com/news/341/1/Super_Smash_Bros_Brawl_Director_Answers_Fan_Questions
"not all characters from the previous Super Smash Bros. games will return."
If they lose ones that doesn't matter then I'll be fine. Here's the ones me thinks they'll get rid of.
Doc Mario (since he is more or less the same).
Roy
Marth (if I'm right then back then that was the only FE game and since there's new ones then you got new characters).
Game & Watch (my brother likes him there because he was Nintendo's first character. But I think he sucks so much that he isn't needed).
Young Link (removed or replaced by Wind Waker's Link).
Jigglypuff (More or less the same as Kirby, just worse).
Pichu (I'm better with Pichu then with Pikachu but Pika > Pichu when it comes to characters).

https://www.thewiire.com/news/342/1/Pokemon_Game_Announced_for_Wii
We all knew this was coming, Nintendo wouldn't ditch Pokemon (their second biggest money maker). And who here is shocked that the Wii game will be able to connect with the DS (I know me or someone said that the Wii won't have a Pokemon game unless it connects with Pokemon D/P)?

Not bad, I can't wait to see some screens of it that isn't on a big screen.

https://www.thewiire.com/news/343/1/Iwata_Discusses_Connectivity_Virtual_Console_Initial_Losses
"Using current exchange rates, Iwata's expected price falls between $4.50 and $8.99 USD. The price range provided applies to new software created for Virtual Console, but Iwata did not specify if existing classic titles would be subject to the same price umbrella."
New games for the Virtual Console? Am I the only one that hasn't heard that they're making games other then old ones for the Virtual Console? And anyone think that the old games will be around that price (to me it's a little high)?

https://www.gamespot.com/news/6152417.html
And we all just loveeeeeee that don't we?
Me thinks they'll tell it right before the TGS. I still think their best bet would be to let the Wii out on Oct.

Good news Arcanine, that Pokemon game looks really good, I hope it supports wi-fi. A lot of things are possible with the DS and Wii connectivity, I hope they take advantage of that. I'm excited about being able to play demos on my DS using the Wii as a "download station" or whatever they call it. I'm hoping that they do announce the price and maybe some more info before September. The ATI comment that the graphics shown at E3 were only using a bit of the power of their chip is good news I guess, Nintendo also said that the first 6 million units shipped would be sold at a loss so maybe the chip really is that good but I don't get my hopes up for it.

Here is another topic to discuss:

Messaging on the Wii? Buddy List...

Hey, I have a question.
I have my DS registered on Nintendo.com, and I was wondering where it would have my serial number for it listed? (Like what page?)

Samurai X: I think Robo said that both the Pokemon game on the Wii and Pokemon D/P will be Wi-Fi (it'll be a stupid move on Nintendo's part if they aren't).
I like that whole buddylist thing. It looks like it was going to be out back on the N64 but just didn't work out. Maybe they'll get everything to work for the Wii. Because Nintendo has said over and over that the Wii is about everyone. Looks like they'd have something like a buddylist or message system to have everyone come together. I mean why say "It's about everyone" and then go "but we're going to keep everyone apart online". It just doesn't sound right, I do hope they come out with a buddy list thing (and one where it'll keep all names and stuff so you don't have to add them back like the DS does).

MegaLightBlaze: You mean the page where you register your DS *Is confused*? If so then it's below.

Edit: A little something on SSBB.

Bye bye Young Link, Ice Climbers, and Mr. Game & Watch, and hello Baby Bowser, Ridley, and Link from Wind Waker?

w00t! Ridley 4-EVER! LOL I liked G&W, and ICs were OK, but young link getting replaced by senoir Wind-Waker is all good. I was actually hoping for Bowser Jr.
Maybe we will get Pichu and some other crappy character get replaced by Waluigi and Dry Bones! Wahaha! Waluigi 4-EVER! LOL

I see no reason why anyone has to get replaced. I mean looks like it'll be able to hold enough to have everyone on the games before it.

Oh and some info on the Pokemon Wii game.
I was reading SPP today and I saw a little something on Pokémon Battle Revolution.
"Graphically the game is a step up from the previous games and even features the Pokémon physically hitting eachother and their attacks adversely affecting the landscapes."
That's right, if a Pokemon does Quick Attack then that attack will hit the other Pokemon. And if you do an attack like Hyper Beam it'll cut out a groove in the ground.
They did somethings I wanted. I hated that you'd attack and have a shockwave or something happen when you do an attack. And I also wanted if you did an attack like Thunder then it'd have a hole in the ground.

That's the link, check it out and view all the pics.

Pretty much quite the revolutionary move for the Pokémon games and such. XD
Pretty much the compatibility with the DS amazes me. Who knows what the Wii might do with the DS linked wirelessly together? I'm very excited about this indeed. n-n

Is the Pokemon video over at IGN gameplay or movie? It looks like gameplay what with the status bars and such, but it looks a lot better than I was expecting. We should've had stuff close to that on the GCN instead they just tweak the N64 models a bit. But this? O_O

I thought that they kept them ugly looking on the GCN games so that they would still be rather point looking and truer to the anime. But this is good too. XD

As for SmaBura, umm...I'm hoping it's just a rumour because my best character is Young Link and I really don't see why they would have to remove some. If they do, then I'd like to see the clone characters go (yes, that would mean no more Young Link, I know). Better yet why not take the clone characters (so that I'll still have Young Link and Ganondorf) but give them an original moveset! :o Don't take out exsisting people if you're going to put in more third party people. I don't like that!

Revolutionary for a Pokemon game, that's not bad. XD
It's not really the Wii - DS connective thing that gets my hopes up for the games (both the one on the Wii and Pokemon D/P). It's the mic on the DS and maybe the mic on the Wiimote. I'd love to say "Pikachu Thunder" and all that.
My bet is you'll be able to battle online with your Pokemon on D/P playing on PBR (Pokémon Battle Revolution). It is said that you'll be able to play D/P via Wi-Fi but playing it on the big screen might be more fun.

I'm betting on gameplay. I don't think Nintendo is such a great big fan of movies. SMG was gameplay, TP was gameplay, Red Steel was gameplay, and even SSBB had gameplay (well some parts looks like gameplay). So looks like Nintendo would have gameplay for their Pokemon game.
And yea, we should have had lots of stuff for the GC ones. Not only better graphics but stuff like they'll have for PBR.

I see no reason why they can't stick everyone from SSBM on SSBB. They're going from 1.5 gig CDs to 8.5 gig DVDs (that is if it's going to use the same discs as the PS2 and XBox), so if it holds so much more then why not add everyone back. Maybe it'll all work out in the end.

Kirby DS

I'm looking forward to the new Kirby Game. I didn't care if it was like CC or the regular games. Kirby is Kirby, and that's all that matters.. And I still want Waluigi to be in SSBB. WahHaHa!!!

Well, the DSLite is selling a lot already and New Super Mario Bros was the top selling game in May for the US in just two weeks of sales. The DSLite sold 135,000 in just two days so they expect to sell 500,000 in ten days just like when the DS launched back in 04. Brain age was the third best selller in May and the sales have tripled since the DSLite was released and New Super Mario Bros sales doubled.

In some Pokemon related news they have some pretty good information about it on this page over at IGN so make sure to read that.

It tells you how the Pokedex works and it gives you some info on the Pokewatch and what everyone(most everyone) wanted is back, they have a day/night cycle again and they are split up into five times: morning, afternoon, evening, night and late night. Different Pokemon will appear at different times like in Gold and Silver. This got me even more excited on D/P than before, it says it could be the best Pokemon games yet. It also tells you about a new professor, Professor Nanakamado who will help you complete the Pokedex. Get this though, it is rumored that 90% of the Pokemon have evolved, that's a lot of evolutions. It also says that Nintendo is going to "unleash D/P on the masses over in Japan this week at the World Hobby Fair", demos and first chance at gameplay I suppose. I can't wait to get my hands on this game.

Here's a nice thing on the Wii that I want you guys to look at, it's good news fopr the Wii if it's true, it is in a magazine so it has a good chance of being true.
