Nintendo Direct 4/1 3PM PT

Did they say 200cc

The most exciting things from the Direct for me were the new DaiGyakuten Saiban trailer (IT LOOKS SO GOOD!!!!) and... pathetically enough, I got so excited over the Mii Plaza updates. I love streetpass games and the new ones did not disappoint, since they released a few hours ago in Japan and I'm in love with them already. I'm also really excited about the new Rhythm Tengoku!! Even if it's more of a rehash "best of"... well, I haven't played a lot of them so it'll be new enough for me. It's definitely high up on my list.

Fire Emblem if looks... idk, kinda strange? I thought it was really interesting that those two games are the only ones that were announced simultaneously in the JP and NA streams... everything else was ordered differently and announced at different times. But these ones were at the same point and all I could think was "I wonder how they decide what order to show things in? Was this an optimal point in the stream?" But the fact that the NA one hyped up the choices you make while the JP one was like "yeah BLACK AND WHITE VERSIONS with EXPENSIVE DLC whoOOO" kind of put a damper on it. I have no doubt the NA version will probably be the streamlined eshop version with DLC, but it still killed a lot of my interest to see that the story doesn't unfold based on the choices you make like they were hyping, because you pretty much have to make your choice before even starting the game if you live in Japan. :/ But I'm not a huge FE fan so I'll probably only be getting the game if people end up liking it as much as they liked FE:A.

Aside from all that... I dunno, I don't really care about any of Nintendo's first party games so I totally zoned out over most of that stuff. I thought the yarn Yoshi amiibos were really cute but after the fiasco that was Wave 4 releasing for preorder today... yeah... I don't think I'll be giving Nintendo any money for amiibos ever again because their handling of them is ridiculous. So alas, no yarn Yoshi for me. :'(

Man though, I don't really know a whole lot about either series, but that SMTxFE trailer was 100% not what I was expecting at all. o_O

Well it was sort boring mostly god only knows why they are bringing back Lucas, such a boring character.
Because the Mother series got a second rep in Brawl after having only one rep in the first two games, but when Smash 4 came out, it was reverted back to one rep again. That sort of decision is a crime towards Mother fans when Kid Icarus now has three characters despite having the same amount of games as Mother. As for calling Lucas "boring", have you ever read his backstory?

Are there any other characters from the Mother Series that would have fit as well as Lucas to begin with? Perhaps they can add a third to make it even with Kid Icarus.

The best possible candidate is Porky Minch, having to appear in both Mother games, but his machine in Earthbound may be too big for Sakurai's standards.

So what do people think of the new Amiibos that were announced?
I'm getting those Splatoon amiibos, Kid Icarus amiibos, ZSS, Bowser Jr., and Olimar amiibos. My brother's getting Ganondorf.

I want the Splatoon Amiibos, but I think I already missed my window for that. ;(

I think you're right, the Fourth Wave of Smash Amiibos sold out in a couple of minutes (3-15 0_o) so the Splatoon ones probably aren't any different.
