Nintendo "TS"

Yeah, but it's fun to dream, right?
That, and I'm bored and can't sleep.

Anyway, one interesting thing I read on Joystiq was the idea of bringing games bought on Virtual Console over to this new console. It would certainly be up to the task, and it would be a great idea, but do you think Nintendo would do it?

Nintendo has repeatedly shown that while they try to be fair to fans, they are still money grubbing fiores.

What would the point of a 3rd screen be?

Dang, I only got my DS Lite a few months ago and now they're upgrading again(I know about DSi but I wanted to migrate my Pokemon to Platinum and the Lite was $150 cheaper here).

Judging by the amount of time it'll take to be released in NZ that gives me plenty of time to find a part time job and save up some cash for this.

I can easily see this out in 2011 not 2010. Give the DSi a year to breathe and sell some games but have a new backwards compatible successor to the DS and the i out in 2011. Yes I honestly believe if this comes out that the whole backlot of DS games will be able to be played as well as DSi games. Makes no sense not to you know what I mean? Also this helps theories of a new Pokemon generation become stronger.

Seems like Nintendo have finally caught on that good graphics is the way to go.

But this just makes the DSi more obsolete.
Congratulations on a fail handheld.
The DSi is on the same level as the PSP-go. Just blooming pointless; but I am going off on a random tangent.

Will be interesting to see what specs this will allow the TS to do.

Probably already said but:

I just googled this, it is an old April Fools joke.

Acutally, the Nintendo TS name and concept of having three screens is old, this however was not in any rumour I read. I believe the name is just from an old rumour but it appears to be getting, but I read the same article on another site and so nothing about the name.

EDIT- Nevermind, but it is a new rumour though.

Some amazing Pokemon Gaming is what Im thinking.

It's a highly debatable issue, but I'd rather have a game that is actually fun than a game with mind-blowing graphics.

Gameplay > Graphics

I'm also not too sure what you mean by "caught on," since the DS already outsells the PSP.

I agree, but not completely. The PSP-Go is on another level of fail.

For the DSi, you can at least go out and buy a physical copy of a game. So it doesn't play GBA games.. but maybe not everyone wants to. But what makes the PSP-Go is fail in the fact that it is incredibly inaccessible.

About the "TS." What I'm wondering is: what will happen to the users who don't own one? Since it's made for games that require more power, will Nintendo abandon the DS altogether?

Obviously it will be backwards compatible with DS/DSi games how the GBA was with GB/GBC games and the DS was with GBA games.

In other news, L4D3 will be coming out as a TS-only exclusive... this January!

Well, according to the pattern:

Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color (though color is really an exception)
GBA, GBA SP, GBA Micro
DS Phat, DS Lite, DSi

Original with backwards compatability, aesthetically improved model, newer model phasing out older features.
It seems to be the usual for Nintendo handhelds. Tegra System matches up in that respect.

I wouldn't be too surprised if it's correct, though I won't put real stock in it till I see pictures or an official announcement.

A handheld like this seems like a beautiful step forward to me, so long as they spend time actually working on it, so it's as much of a step up from the DS as the Wii was from the GameCube. Unlikely, but not impossible.

Japan also saw a Game Boy Light

Pretty sweet. I'll probably get this when it's released. Sick of of this old DS I have. I got it when the first version came out. :3
