I have always thought about what makes these three so different and why does everyone shout at other if they like other consoles more than others.
In this thread, you can say what is that thing that makes you to keep with your console and why you can't play with other consoles (I know those guys who haven't even tried Nintendo consoles just because they have "bad graphics")

And, now when I remember, you can also speak about other video-game companies!

I hope you can keep this thread clean by yourself and not yell to other people as they like other consoles, swear, or anything like that as I want to keep this thread alive.

    Now to my viewpoint:
I have always liked Nintendo consoles but never told anyone that their consoles are worse.
(Just to tell it now, I like to speak about this, dunno yet how long this will be :P)
    Things that like in Nintendo:
    - Games that I like: Mario, Pokémon, Zelda, and many others (also games that I can find from other consoles)
    - I keep NES as the father of other consoles (althought that's not quite right), I have always thought that what if there weren't Mario and Nintendo made bankruptcy, what could've happened? If there weren't Mario, SEGA could've never made Sonic as there weren't need to race with anybody. Also Playstation had things like Crash that some people think came from Mario too. What if there would've never been good platforming games?
And what about Mario Kart? It has so many lookalike games: Crash Nitro Kart, that Sonic Kart game (can't remember name) and many others. What would've happened to them?
Ok, ok. This is just things that could have happened, or then not :D
    Let's move to next thing...
    - Easy to get into. Wiimote is very easy to use, even for a little child. I'm not going to say anything about Move or Kinect (oops, said already).
    - There's compatibility between different games and can be played on new consoles. You can play many old game on Wii (NES, SNES, N64, GC), NDS Lite (GBA), 3DS (GB, GBC). My cousin who bought PSP GO is going to get normal PSP as some games don't appear to download section (he's also thinking about buying 3DS).
    - It is just the thing for me. It has everything I need :D

So, this is why I like Nintendo.

    Now to other consoles:
I have played XBOX, XBOX360, PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP (, PSP GO) but those weren't for me. I can't find good games for them that I like. There is KH, FF, Burnout and few other games that I can't get to my mind just now but if we look at the first two, I can find one KH games for DS but soon there will be RE: Coded and 3DS one. And there's more Final Fantasy games on Nintendo consoles than on PS1-3. And one main thing that I think effects the thing why I keep with Nintendo is that I don't care about war-/gun -games as nowadays I can't find anything than those on everyone's consoles.

(Next time I'll write less text)
Where's Mario? It's still the most selling game franchise but the ones who play gun-games in my school haven't even tried Mario games??? But as I have played WarioWare on my phone (vBag) others wanted to try too. My phone has been so many times in other players hands :D Everyone wants to beat my high-score on hard. And few times my phone's music started to play on school lessons (as it weren't me who was playing, friend was playing Pokémon and accidentally pushed play button).

Now, finally! I think I wrote everything and few hundred letters more... (and I still think I missed something...)
I hope someone other will write something here too.
I want to know more about other consoles.

I'm not going to go in-depth, but my first console was a Nintendo 64. Extremely fun times with Super Mario 64 (first console game I can recall playing), Super Smash Brothers 64, Rocket: Robot on Wheels, Pokemon Stadium 2, NFL Blitz, not to mention the likes of StarFox 64, Pokemon Snap, and Bomberman 64. :D When I finally got to play Super Smash Brothers Melee, that experience greatly augmented my Nintendo experience. Though my first handheld was actually a Sega Game Gear, my GameBoy Advance SP has been with me through thick and thin, even surviving a few scratches and drops. Pokemon Sapphire Version reeled me back into the Pokemon universe, with Pokemon FireRed and Emerald Versions being excellent follow-ups and providing adequate replay value. I've logged in seemingly countless hours on all three versions, and they have me eager to join the ranks of Generations IV and V in the near future as well. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past garners mention as well. I lost the cartridge before I achieved completion, but I managed to venture into locales of the Light and Dark Worlds, which were filled with epic swordplay and enjoyable experiences. :)

And with the Nintendo Wii...epicness ensued upon its release. Though not as graphically powerful as the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360, who cares? Graphics don't make a game; gameplay and enjoyability do (and replay value, to an extent). The system is not as costly as the PS3 or 360, either. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has earned itself the award of being the best action-adventure game I've ever played to date (and I haven't even finished the game; I'm still traversing the City In The Sky). Link, Midna, Zelda, and many other characters have made for a fantastic epic experience, and I'm already eager to play Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time 3DS later on!

    Wii Sports
was a nice entry into the system, and can still provide a fun experience on occasion, despite not necessarily being as robust as other sports games. And Super Smash Brothers Brawl...best fighting game EVER (yeah, it still has some shortcomings, but hopefully those can be rectified in the fourth Smash Brothers videogame installment). Even the Wii Virtual Console and WiiWare hold a lot of promise with offerings of retro and innovative games. No other console or handheld has come close to providing me as much fun as the Nintendo ones have.

Plus, for the current generation, Nintendo has been the pioneer in changing the way we play. The Nintendo Dual-Screen (DS) ingeniously utilizes two screens (unheard of!) and incorporates touch controls, while Sony's PlayStation Portable still struggles with one (coupled with excessive loading times). Not to mention how the DS Phat and the DS Lite provide backwards compatibility with GBA games!

The Nintendo Wii, on the other hand, could be said to have revolutionized motion controls. While some games may feature gimmicky controls, it seems that there are several that innovate the way players play games. I know that swinging a sword in Twilight Princess is much more enjoyable than a simple button press, and if I have the chance to play previous Legend of Zelda games, the transition to the old playing style of strictly buttons, D-pads, and analog sticks will be awkward...

Furthermore, Nintendo games seem to provide a more unique experience that cannot be found on other consoles. The only thing I really recognize the 360 for is being Halo-exclusive and Gears of War-exclusive. That's it. Aside from online functionality, IMO it's basically the same thing as PS3, which has Metal Gear Solid, Tekken, and Jak and Daxter, and the Sly series. Compare that meager amount of franchises to the slew of ongoing franchises Nintendo still has.

Furthermore, it's very annoying that both the PS3 and 360 are constantly getting the same games with essentially the same controls on the controllers (i.e., Final Fantasy XIII and Street Fighter 4), while the Wii's intuitive interface gets shafted. Just because the Wii has "last-gen" graphics and a different playstyle, it cannot enjoy third-party support. Even with the Wii and DS blazing in terms of sales, the PS3 and 360 still manage to get all the "killer apps" which I feel is extremely unfair to Wii players (and not very sensible, at that).

Lastly, the Nintendo Wii is so innovative that Sony and Microsoft even feel the need to imitate their controller with the PlayStation Move and Microsoft Kinect, respectively, which I feel is robbing the Wii of its uniqueness and proper credit. The Wii was the first out of all the current-gen consoles to reveal and implement extensive motion controls in the controller, and now Sony and Microsoft want to leech of the Wii's apparent success. If gamers have any respect for what the Wii introduced first, I do not think they will buy such imitating accessories. I agree that Sony and Microsoft can implement such controls next-gen, but not in the gen where the Wii was originally the only console to pioneer such a playstyle.

In closing, Nintendo all the way for me. :D (I don't really want to be all fanboy-ish and start a generic "console war," but the PS3 and 360 have it coming to them, considering how they are blatantly copying another console's controls and receiving more third-party support than the leading console of the current generation - the Nintendo Wii).

EDIT: hmm...looks like I did go in-depth. Sorry for the long post! :nervous:

I can't say I particularly love any of the companies, though I do tend to favor Nintendo products over Sony or Microsoft. I like Nintendo for the durability of their systems, minus the DS Lite, and the fact that they have pretty decent customer service. Their consoles' libraries are not as expanded as other consoles, but there's always at least something I want to play. I also like the fact that they reach out to non-gamers. It means I can play games with my family and that they won't think I'm some weirdo who shuts herself inside all day playing games. Not to mention their handhelds are great. Regardless of all the competition, Nintendo's handhelds have stayed strong.

What I don't like about Nintendo is its focus on the non-gamers. While I do like that they pay attention to that group, I feel like they forgo regular gamers at times. I also am disappointed at the lack of certain games not being released in America, such as Xenoblade. Though I guess it's not fair to blame Nintendo solely for that when Americans won't even buy the so-called "hardcore games" for the system. People complain that the Wii has no hardcore games, but then when a hardcore game comes out, like Red Steel 2 or Mad World, no one picks it up. I think that is a bigger factor than Nintendo's personal decision to exclude NA. Another thing I don't like is updates. It's fine to update a system once or twice, but Nintendo has repeatedly updated the Nintendo DS, which is a cause for concern. I want to get a 3DS, but it's hard to decide whether to get one right away or not because we're not sure if Nintendo will re-release a better system a year or two after the 3DS's release.

So that leaves MS and Sony. I've never ever been a firm supporter of MS, after being annoyed enough with their OS Windows. I've always felt that MS was kind of a greedy company, charging hundreds of dollars for an OS that was worth maybe 30-40. This hasn't changed with their release of a console, and it only further added to my disgust when the 360 started to develop problems such as the RROD and disc scratching. A lot of gamers forgave MS's faults and tried to breeze over them saying that any idiot should know better than to move his console while playing, but I didn't buy that. I've known people who have moved Nintendo and Sony consoles around while playing with no problems. Anyway, that started my dislike for MS and it just slowly escalated as MS started taking all the RPGs like Star Ocean and Tales of Vesperia. I didn't want to buy a flaky system just so I could play RPGs.
Granted, the main issue I have with the 360, besides its flaky nature, was the library itself and the fan base. The library did have a few RPGs, but most of the games, including the RPGs did not grab my attention. The fanbase further irritated me by acting so elitist about their precious console that they'd ridicule you for not liking such and such game, or for preferring JRPGs instead of Western RPGs. Granted, that is not wholly MS's fault, but it really made me want to participate less and less in that area.
Lastly, I didn't like how MS tried to copy Nintendo with the avatar characters (which are totally useless, imop) and motion control Kinnect. I would like to say that I don't like they fact that they charge you to play online, but I personally couldn't care less about online gaming, so that has no effect on me.

And now Sony. I've had mixed feelings about Sony since its beginning. While I do own a number of Sony systems and a lot of my favorite games are on the PSX, I don't really consider myself a Sony supporter. I've never liked Sony's arrogant attitude, and the fact that they're copying Nintendo's motion control with their movie only further makes me roll my eyes. Rather than dislike, it's more like annoyance. Other than those two areas, there's nothing in particular I really dislike about Sony. I don't really like the fact that a majority of Nintendo games are ported to its system and I'm not really a big fan of the elitist fanboys.

At the same time, there's nothing in particular I really like about Sony. Graphics aside (which I don't really care about anyway), nothing really stands out to me with them. I don't care much about blu-ray, nor do I care about HOME, and those are some of the PS3's biggest attributes. I just wish they were a little more innovative and would lose their cocky attitude a little.

So when it all comes down to it, I guess I like:

    Nintendo > Sony >>>>>>>>>>>> Microsoft

I like Sony the best because I like Playstation the best.

I think they have good online and good games.

Nintendo is the best simply because it has all the original amazing game characters on it. Nintendo is the NES, the SNES, the N64 etc. It is the awesome one.

However, I do have a PS2 and PS3 and I love my PS3. But Nintendo is still the best. Go Wii and NDS!

I still play my SNES...why? Because it's amazing. Nothing was like it.

I actually like both Sony and Nintendo. But I'm choose Nintendo than Sony. Nintendo have many games than Sony (Am I right?). So why not? The games aren't that bad either. I like Pokemon the best. Especially since I have Wii right now, So this isn't a hard question to answer to me. Nintendo it is.

I'm not really into this "which is best" debate on game consoles, they all have pros and cons, but out of the three company's I would have to pick Nintendo, because they make some of my favorite games and they are the most inventive and unique, where as Sony and Microsoft rely on 2nd and 3rd party's to create games, and will only do something once Nintendo have shown them that it works.

Well, of course Nintendo. I've always been a fan of it, from Pokémon to Zelda to Smash, or from the Game Boy to the DS to the Wii.

Sony comes close, I love Ape Escape and the PlayStation, but I like Nintendo a little better.

When it comes to video gaming, Nintendo is good in that department because of the well-known characters (the 649 species of Pokemon, Mario, etc.). Sony comes in at a close second, though.

Where ever you go there will be a one sided thing. You are saying it here, a place where everyone like Pokémon(a Nintendo title).

In my opinion my favorite brand has to be the Microsoft. This is because of there range of games, they have more of my style of games. Also I have an Xbox because of the simplicity to go online and chat with your friends in a party or in game.

I like Nintendo also, have all consoles made by them. The only bad thing in my opinion is that when you try and play with your friends online it is just such a long and annoying process and you just get irritated.

And for Sony, well they are the same as Microsoft, but I don't like the way the PS3 and there consoles play. I don't find it as user friendly as Microsoft and Nintendo.

I used to like Microsoft until I really understood how they're much more concerned with finding ways to get the most money out of their customers rather than keeping customers satisfied.

They constantly produce products that don't work or require upgrades/downloads that cost more money.
Money is not an issue for me, but I don't think I need to be charged for some of the things I have been charged for before by Microsoft.
They've taken money out of my bank account months after I cancelled Xbox Live, raised prices, and charge ridiculous amounts for even a stupid little costume pack.

I have no problem with Playstation.

I will always love Nintendo for their constant fan service. This e3 they gave us proof of how dedicated they are to giving the fans what they want by continuing some of our favorite gaming series of all time.
