Okay, being remade, again. This thread is for posting new pairs, unpairings and minor congratulation posts. No long discussions will be permitted, any members doing so will have their posts deleted.

For that reason, maybe? The first thread became a mini DCC, whereas the Pairing Thread is just supposed to be for the purposes that Blue mentioned there.

It was specifically a relationship chat thread. I don't see why it should be confused with the DCC, where the topic is not normally on relationships.

22sa, it was decided a long time ago that the old style Pairing Thread where people discussed pairs and whatnot became way too spammy and out of control. Therefore, a solution was made where the Pairing Threads from now on would just be for new pair declarations and congratulatory posts. Nothing more.

If you wanted to make a thread specifically based on romance without the inclusion of the pairing list, on the other hand, that's a different situation.

Yes, I guess it was locked after of all the discussion in it, but where else were they going to discuss it?
I remember like.. a while ago when we had a thread for updating pairs, and one just for the discussion, which wasn't bad.
I don't see what people should be discussing anyway, I'm sure if someone wanted to say something to there pair about pairing, he would say it in PM or something.
Plus also I've noticed before there's been discussion of people wanting for a pair, and posting about it, they shouldn't be really doing that, either. o.o

In my opinion, if people want to talk about romance, relationships, pairings or anything else like that, there's no reason why they can't do it in the DCC. That's the whole point of that thread.

And I realize the old pairings thread was spammy with people not following instructions and all, but since people are still putting in an effort to correct them, who cares? It happens in almost every thread that has rules. Also, this last one was NOT spammy.

And also, why bring it up in DCC when not everybody checks it for pairings/relationship information? The thread goes too fast, not every message posted in there will get through to the right people. And like I said, relationships are rarely talked about in DCC.

Spam will occur. And, if you read through the last two pages of your thread alone, you'll notice that about 7-8/10 posts were offtopic and generally not needed for the thread. One can only assume that the other pages are that way too. So there's your proof. Saying that people are "trying to follow the rules" isn't the same as them actually following the rules.

And as I said multiple times, you can congratulate pairs in the new Pairing Thread. But why do you have to have a thread just for talking about pairs, when pairs are only a little bit of fun on the forum and are generally meaningless?

I said spam will occur in the context that spam will occur practically everywhere on PC. Every popular topic will have its negatives as well.

I don't think it matters whether he's paired up or not. The point is that he wanted to create the thread for the sake of other to people post in and discuss about topics regarding relationships. I'm not even trying to support the thread to be revived again, just clearing something.

You may not agree with the reasons why it was locked, and you have that right. But the fact is, we don't go around locking threads because it's fun, we got reasons. So like it or not, your thread had a reason to get locked.

Here's a reason...

So in other words, you had 1 page of nice clean posts, yet you had 6 pages of spam. Yea... That's a real good reason to not lock the thread.

Sure spam on PC pops up in almost every thread. But if the thread is made up of mostly spam then it's going to have something done about it. We're not going to sit around and go "Well, this thread has spam, but we can't do anything about it because all threads have it.". So that reasoning sucks.

And you already got your reasons why it was closed (if you don't then go back and read Dawson's posts), a new thread was opened and so I'll be locking this thread. Thank you, bye bye.
