No Travel Companions?

Do you guys think it's possible that in this saga, Ash won't have any travel companions? Most of the kids at the school just happen to be trial captains, and there's [really nothing really pointing towards any of them travelling with him. What do you guys think?

The setting is in a School... and it looks like they have field trips often so I would assume that all of them are his companion. We might get an episode where it's just with one or two of them, but most episodes will likely be with the entire class. or we might get one just focusing on one of the classmates... episode 5 looks like it's going to be a Lana episode.

Also look at the Anime's intro... All of the classmates from Lillie to Lana are prominently featured in it so, they're all relevant. they might even get more classmates seeing as most of the trial captains are children.

Since they're all around Ash's age, I'm assuming that they're all going to be the companions. Especially since we know he won't be in the school forever and will be doing the island trials.

Do we tho? Alola isn't really that big compared to the other regions... Kiawe in episode 1 was able to deliver a package and still got back to school before the bell rang. So the trip to the Trials themselves might not take as long.

Is Ash going to school until the end of the series really that unacceptable? Koro Koro magazine did say that the goal this time is to graduate... Ash can still experience Alola even if he's in school, especially if said school is focused on trips to different parts of the Alola region.

It has apparently been confirmed that they will not stay at the school the entire time. They will travel. I don't know where, but it has been said in Corocoro or something.

We now know there is a League, so there is no reason for Ash to stay at school, especially when they have said he needs to complete the trials to master Z-Moves and this is not a reset at all. As he tried the Battle Bond thing with Z-Moves. And his Pikachu defeated 6 pokemon at once with just quick attack.

As for companions, I think they are all companions. If anything, Lillie will be with him.

Yep he's going to travel but he 'is' still going to school, we're always going to get a at least a couple of scenes in the school, either at the start or at the end of the episode.

I'm not saying he's not going to travel... he is (In essence the Pokemon Anime is about adventure), but the gang aren't going to be sleeping on the road while going to each of the trials, like we used to. The Pokemon gang looks like they have a lot more going on, than just the standard journey through the region.

They'd probably just use the school to set up the plot elements of the episode itself. Like ep 4, where the class went on a trip to catch a Pokemon... and in the end of the EP Ash catches a Rowlet.
