Soooo, title says it all. How cool would it be if there was a Pokémon game based after Norse mythology? It can take place in a far northern snowy region with mountains and fjords. There could be legendary Pokémon based off of the Odin, Thor and Loki. The whole premise of the game would be trying to stop Ragnarok from occurring (I mean, that seems to be the premise of most Pokémon games anyway)... but yeah. I just thought it sounded neat.

Since this has to deal more with Pokemon games as a whole, I'm moving this over to Pokemon Gaming Central. ^^

A Norse mythology-themed Pokemon game does sound rather interesting, though...

Oh, ok. I guess it makes more sense for it to be over there. I wasn't sure, I just recently made this profile. But I'm glad you think my idea sounds interesting. Though, I'm just musing. I wouldn't have the know how to make it myself. But, who knows? I can see it being a Pokemon game one day. Nowadays Norse mythology seems more popular than ever. The time is ripe :D

Is it? I haven't heard anything about that unless you're talking about like.. the thor movie ahah.

However I think this would be really cool. I've been dying to see how they'd approach a mostly ice-based region for ages now fwiw, given that the snow areas in regions that have them always seem to be some of my favorites. Scandinavia has such a rich history and mythology that would make building on top of it really interesting. Maybe in Gen 8?

The legendary trio from Kalos seem to already have some roots in Norse mythology, so I think that won't be revisited. That said, a Scandinavia-inspired region would be really cool actually.

I'd absolutely love a region based on Norway and Sweden, maybe even with a city in Denmark with ?resunds-bridge connecting them to the other continent. And Iceland could be an island you can travel to, maybe for the E4 c:

I'm hoping Game Freak returns to a European-based region for Gen 8, and Norse mythology is one of my favorites.
Now that I'm in Spain and have seen the diversity in climate with my own eyes, I would really love to see an Iberia-based region sometime.

Well, the Thor movie, kinda sorta. But also Skyrim, and The Vikings tv show. I dunno, maybe it's because I'm so into Norse mythology myself that I go out of my way to look for it.

There are just so many different possibilities for what they can do next. I always thought it would be kind of cool if they made one that wasn't in the present day / semi future. Like maybe they can have one in a medieval setting or something. I'm sure there would have been ways to tame and get Pokemon as companions back in those days, even without poke balls.

Or Skyrim, yeah! That would be cool with the open-world possibilities on the Switch, if that were ever to come to fruition in some kind of Pok?mon game. Unlikely, but I can dream.

An open world Pokemon mmorpg, that's what we're all waiting for, ha. Or at least, It's something I've wanted for a long time. Maybe waaaay in the future. You're right though, lot's of people think that would be unlikely, but yeah, doesn't hurt to dream.

slightly off-topic but i keep reading this title as "Nurse themed Pok?mon game" and am wondering what the mechanics of a game focused on playing as Nurse Joy would be like lmao
