  • Serebii have updated the website with some new confirmed English names;

    The Official Nintendo Magazine in the UK has come out and has confirmed several new English names names along with several new screenshots of the English version Pokémon games; Black & White, due for release in March. The names are as follows; Excadrill (in Japan; Doryuuzu), Sewaddle (in Japan; Kurumiru), Alomomola (in Japan; Mamanbou), We also got a variety of new US attack names; Bug Opposition is now Struggle Bug, Drill Liner is now Drill Run.
    We'll bring more confirmations as we get them

    Source; Serebii

    I just received my ONM today and I saw Pokémon White on the front and I was exicted because I knew there would be some new Pokémon and exclusive information, which there was, and I remember seeing Alomomola in a battlescreen scan in the ONM but I didn't really look at the scan and I've just checked serebii and found it out then I looked at the ONM and noticed it propely.

  • So, the new names are 99.99% confirmed.
    All of the "new" names were actually revealed some days ago, so now we can claim them as the official names.

    To be honest... I'm still waiting to see a few more names until I fully believe it. I guess there's still a minor chance some of them aren't real, but meh. :x And if they're real, that means I can celebrate, yet be disappointed... hmm. XD;

    We still don't know at these are the exact names, they may have been right so far but there might be some that are incorrect.

  • Europe might get everything earlier, but us here in the US pay less! TAKE THAT!

    Anyway, the list was missing Keldeo, Meloetta, and Genesect, so we can still speculate on those.

  • Seeing as the newly released names match the pre-existing list, I think it's a safe bet to treat the list as legitimate now. :D

    Pokebeach put up the entire new list today:

  • Zoroark confirmed.

    I think Reshiram, Zekrom, Zorua and Zoroark will keep their names, I just have a feeling about it :/

    Zoroark will be keeping its Japanese name as in the Gamestop Promo posters for the Legendary Beasts it say transfering one of the beasts to your Black or White versions will give you a chance to battle and catch a Zoroark.

    And as stated by Ynfinity8 Zekrom and Reshiram will keep their names.

    LOL, didn't know about the 3DS, when do we get it and how earlier? :D

    Edit: Never mind, Just found out, 25th March, 2 days before America.. AGAIN.. but £229! :\
    Where did you get that price from? o.O First of all it's $250 in the US, so I think you must have misread? Anyway $249.99 in £ is £156.09 so we should get it around that price or it's a rip off.

    Europe might get everything earlier, but us here in the US pay less! TAKE THAT!
    Not really...? Who told you that? xD From looking around there isn't any confirmination on price for Europe.

    You've mixed up the types next to the sprites, it looks like Snivy is Fire/psychic.

    Lillipup stems from Lilliput. Gulliver's Travels? It's very interesting...

    Well, something small, actually. Lilliputian is an assimilated word meaning "small" or "petty." It ultimately takes root in the word "lil'" too. Only, I've been pronouncing it lil-ee-POOT, so that means Lillipup would be pronounced lil-ee-POOP :(

    Added that tidbit as well as Kekleo, Meloetta and Genesect.

  • Wait so Kyurem keeps it's Japanese name :D?!

    I don't think so, I think the ones with (?) haven't been revealed yet, thus being the Legendaries.

    Edit: Just realised, Kyurem dosen't have (?) next to it, and the english names are below the Japanese names so it must keep its name, which I'm happy about :)!

    And just found out that Alomomola (the Pink fish Pokémon) was the first Pokémon, Ash saw in the Unova region, just thought i'd share :).

    Kyurem has been released, just not confirmed. However, its relatives Zekrom and Reshiram are both keeping their Japanese names, so it makes sense if Kyurem keeps its as well.

    The three that aren't released yet are Keldeo, Meloetta, and Genesect.
