5th Gen Official Rumours Thread

Actually, it would be 2%. But even half a dozen evos (4%) wouldn't be too excessive, compared to 4th gen.

id love to see what percentage of the 4th generation pokemon were evolutions.. im guessing like 10%??

From Pokejungle:

First off, I'll be up front about this: I don't believe it. But Snowy actually found it on 2ch and someone else asked for it to be translated 'n stuff, so I'll do it. Plus the type combinations are worth sparking some discussion!

Tsutaya (grass) -> Noukazura (grass/ground) -> Kazuratori (grass/ground) Last Evo's base stats:
» HP: 90
» Atk: 89
» Def: 105
» SpAtk: 75
» SpDef: 90
» Speed: 90
» Total: 539

Pokabu (fire) -> Tateishishi (fire/dark) -> Mimonoshishi (fire/dark) Last Evo's base stats:
» HP: 120
» Atk: 110
» Def: 80
» SpAtk: 80
» SpDef: 100
» Speed: 40
» Total: 530

Mijumaru (water) -> Mijutto (water) -> Kawamizun (water/fighting) Last Evo's base stats:
» HP: 85
» Atk: 100
» Def: 70
» SpAtk: 90
» SpDef: 130
» Speed: 55
» Total: 530

It sounded alright, until I revised Tustajra's typing, Grass/Ground again? I mean land Snake makes sense but they just did Torterra. And cute darling Pokabu can't evolve to a Dark type. It explains the bandana head though.

I like those except Tsutaaja's I would rather it be sort of like Sceptile except with more Spatk than speed.

Grass/Ground AGAIN!?
Please no.. PLEASE don't evolve my Tsutaja into part Ground!!
I don't believe this...

wow Tsutaja is a basically a speedy Torterra... Wow it's stats total is 9 higher than the others in it's final evolution...Ah my Tsutaja is becoming more attractive than I though :P
Edit: though that 539 could be a mistake according to Pokejungle as it's attack might be 80 not 89...

From what I'm looking at, it's doubtful that Tsutaaja would become part ground. It's sort of unusual, especially if it's final evolution is supposedly a Cobra...

I thought the green cobra rumor was for the third legend?

But that really doesn't make sense. For Torterra, it sorta did, seeing as it was a turtle, and it just fit it's characteristics. But for a Cobra? It's sorta hard to imagine that as part ground.

Snakes bury themselves underground to sleep don't they?

Y'know, I was browsing serebii not too long ago and I noticed something...

The English names for some Pokemon were drastically different from their Japanese names. In other words, it didn't sound like or relate to them at all. Unless I'm missing a translation of some sort, then they just...aren't familiar. For example, Slowbro. It's Japanese name is Yadoran. I mean, pretend that we've never seen this Pokemon before, and we've recently just saw a photo of it. We wouldn't gauge out the name "Slowbro" at first, wouldn't we? I mean, the English name turns out to be so drastically different from the Japanese name, so I was thinking that maybe this applied to this generation, too.

With Tsutaaja, Pokabu, and Mijimaru, maybe their English names come to be something that's drastically different from their Japanese names, too. I know, I'm using a Gen I Pokemon as an example, but even then, this still applies to even Gen IV.

Turtwig = Naetoru
Chimchar = Hikozaru
Piplup = Pochama

I dunno, I just felt the need to bring this up. Maybe the English names for the Pokemon that we know of already, or maybe in this generation as a whole(including the Pokemon that we haven't seen) would be drastically different from something that we would normally expect them to be.

For example, I don't understand where people got Smugleaf from and Wooter as names for Tsutaaja and Mijimaru. If anything, I highly doubt that's going to be their English names, and I'd rather stick to the Japanese names since...those names aren't something that's going to grow on me, that's for sure.
I actually thought the people that does the English versions of the games don't care too much of their Japanese names and just name the Pokemon based on what species/objects they are and maybe a pun or two. Then again, I'm not knowledgeable of Japanese. D:

I already mentioned my thoughts on Smugleaf to you. XD; As for Wooter, I know part of it is the Pokemon being an otter. But yeah, I don't like that name either. :P I also think Wooter won't be the English name of Mijimaru.

If Pokemon 'history' serves me correctly....
Most 'snake/cobra' types were usually poison, right? (Ekans, Arbok, Seviper) Dunsparce was, I think, the exception. So, maybe the grass starter is another grass/poison like Venusaur?

Also, I read this whole thread and was totally heartbroken over the lack of a Tauros evo....but NO to a Torkoal/Seviper/Zangoose evo! I like them just as they are, thankyouverymuch. :3

And an even bigger NO to a light type. That was discussed somewhere else in the forum about how Dark and Steel were made to balance the uber-ness of Psychic. So, light wouldnt really fit into anything.

Also, has anyone thought about the idea that bigger & badder tech means bigger & badder glitches? Like, seeing as how this is a 3-d-ish title, what kinds of Missingno.-esque debauchery do you think we'll find?

Dunsparce was, I think, the exception.

:laugh:

Anyway, I thik Tsutarja will be Grass/Dark. It looks Dark, sneaky, a little twerp, oh I love it! :D I strongly doubt it's /Ground. I wouldn't like it anyway, also Pokabu looks to sweet to be /Dark. Ground/Dark/Fighting doesn't work in that Fighting... Oh, it works :( I guess this could be true...

People are saying Wotter, actually.

But yes, I agree completely. Though they're probably in place just so people have something to call them that don't like Japanese names. Not all probably believe they're likely to be the English names.

What do you mean it works? o.O

I'm hoping it's just someone messing around by taking rumours and putting them together. It's not too hard to guess stats really.

i hope thats fake i mean grass/ground for tsutaaja does not fit at all and 539 is higher than any starter before plus all its stats are fairly average so i hope its fake..

i will not choose tsutaaja if its grass/ground
