Need help transferring!

My friend gave me his HeartGold game, and I want to start a new file but I'd like to transfer 1-2 Pokemon from his file to my new one, please tell me if you can help!

Hello everyone,

Well, I just started over with Soul Silver... even got a DS back. I was wondering if anyone could trade me a Ditto, I would clone it and give it back.

You can see I have history here on the board, but nothing new becaues I haven't played in about 3 years. So could anyone help me out?
