Me!Me!Me! is one of those things that I knew would be called out as "overrated" practically the moment it was released, though- despite not having watched it until a year later.

Eh, I enjoyed it a lot though. I'd imagine there are those that think it's trying to be over-symbolic or preachy, but I thought that, apart from being very nice to look at, it was fun even if you take out the overall meaning. Heck, even the point of the song is pretty heavy stuff. The praise seemed pretty on-point to me.

But hey, that's just me.

Overrated's an unfortunate word, really.

Post-00s "Overrated" comes with such a negative connotation, when really it can be used fairly...but hardly ever is.

Though I hear the word used less and less these days. Might just be me, though, but it makes sense. On its own it really isn't much of a describer. And it generally just sounds cynical (unironically, of course).

Everyone seems to think that if something's overrated than it's automatically bad. But that it's true. I, personally, think that Final Fantasy 7 is overrated. Yet you guys (Or at least machomuu :v) know how much I love that game. People go on about how it's "The greatest game of all time" and well it really isn't. But I still think that it's a great game and it's still one of my personal favorites.

Well, FFVII was kind of like the Final Fantasy. Since it was the one with Tifa and Cloud (much overrate). That said, when FFVII HD comes out:

Spoiler:

It's a shame I didn't grow up with Final Fantasy (didn't play many games at all, even). I'd have much more free time and patience to get through those kinds of games on a home console back then than as an adult.

Now I just look at some of them and admire their visual design.

The only JRPG proper I've actually beaten is Bravely Default, and even then, I used a guide on many parts! That game definitely has that same beautiful aesthetic, though. Everything Akihiko Yoshida does is just stunning.

They were definitely a lot more fun when I was younger and could stay in one place and fight the same enemies for hours without getting bored. I don't have the patience to grind like that anymore, but they're still great. The stories are still fun to play through at least once, the music is still fantastic and the graphics are pretty good.

Aside from trying out Type 0 HD and the FFXV demo (which they updated lol), the last JRPG I actually played was The Last Story.

It was a blast. I'm not sure how popular it is, but the last time I enjoyed something so much was Xenoblade. You should all play it.

I want Xenoblade X, but I'm not paying for a Wii U :v

I'd say The Last Story's about half as popular as Xenoblade, for various reasons. But it's by Hironobu Sakaguchi, hence the title (The Last Story...Final Fantasy...I'm sure you get it). Though it's commonly associated with Xenoblade and, to a lesser extent, Pandora's Tower because of Operation Rainfall- the push to get all three of these games localized. Started it, but I've yet to get anywhere, for reasons mostly unrelated to the game itself. Pretty far in Xenoblade, but I lost motivation after a save of mine set me back quite a ways. But I do love it.

Last JRPG I beat was Inazuma Eleven GO 2 Chrono Stone and GODDAMN I LOVE IT SO MUCH THIS SERIES IS FANTASTIC. Seriously, I cannot express the pain of just never hoping to be able to play these games from the series I love that added so much. It feels soooo good to be playing them.

Considering how much you've praised that series I have half a mind to pick up one of the games at some point.
