Well, most novels don't translate very well into live action...with Game of Thrones it seems to be the other way around. They're awful books =/

No accounting for taste. I prefer fantasy with a little more consistency and depth to it, personally. GRRM's writing style just doesn't agree with me.

Harry Potter...eh. They really shouldn't have split the last book into two films. With the stuff they actually took from the book in those two films, they could have made a single film ._.

I always seem to find myself in the minority these days...eh. People will like what they like.

That seems quite likely, because the seventh book wasn't the most content heavy of them and they could have easily extended earlier films into two but never did. Although I would have thought J.K. Rowling had made enough money off of the series by that point...

The Rock is good at flopping like a fish.

Warner Brothers probably hadn't made enough off of the series, though.

I must confess I only ever read the first Harry Potter book, and watched up to the 4th movie. I guess I just never really got into the hype.

Oh yeah?! I've never read LoTR and when a old friend had it on their TV while at a sleepover during my youth, I fell asleep trying to watch it. :p

Probably not...Warner Bros. can never make enough money, after all.

Hard to believe how old all these films are now...I suppose some of them will be due remakes in another five years or so. Or awful animated TV series. Or, in the case of Harry Potter, spinoffs.

I'm actually looking forward to the HP spinoff a lot. The trailer looks great, and it's really more of a story on its own than a spinoff, to be fair. It's not even set in the UK, iirc.

The LotR books are... a difficult read. Well worth it, to me at least, but a difficult read nonetheless. A lot of its immense volume comes from Tolkien's incredible descriptiveness, and that's probably why the movies managed to cover the book well without anything major being removed.
