When you played R/B/G/Y, did you only train one pokemon or all of your pokemon?
Well, I was young so it was sort of a split, my starter was WAY stronger than my other team members, but I could kind of count on all of them in battle... remember, I said kinda.

I level up my team equally. When one gains a level, I'll switch and train the others until they all gain one level and recycle that. It's how I've always done it.

I knew this kid in elementary school who had a level 70 Furret and some level 12 crap by the Team Rocket ambush in Goldenrod. Lawl.

After learning how much fun is sucked out of sweeping through the game with just one pokemon that usually becomes too overpowered by the third gym, I decided to raise entire teams of six.

I used to only do a few, just having my starters and maybe one or two others, the rest would be HM Slaves. Now in Pokemon Diamond i actually raised nearly a full team gradually and i think they could all hold their own.

On another note sometimes my starter pokemon might not always be the lead/highest leveld. If that matters :)

I do pretty much this. I get a team of six Pokémon I like, and I level them up evenly. It means I've got backups in case someone kicks the crap out of my main one.

I always train all my pokemon equally (all of them). Like if one pokemon was Lv.8 and another was Lv.10. I would train the Lv. 8 to Lv.10 to be equal with my team. :]

    I don't understand why everyone keeps taking my words from my mouth ;-;

But yeah, when I was playing Blue, the anime was extremely influential and my friends and I believed that Pokémon was all about teamwork!

My starter is usually higher level but the others are only a few levels down.

When I was younger and I first started playing i would train two of them. Know I train mostly all of my pokemon to the same level. I have over 6 that are the same levels through training.

I train a team of 6. In RBY my starter was usually my strongest for most of the game, but towards the end I normally had at least 1 pokemon pass it in levels. I've got all 151 pokemon in RBY and every single one of them is at least level 30 haha.

In GSC, I train my whole team, but my starter always stays my strongest for some reason.

I remember when I was younger I trained my whole team, and I was the only one who did that. All my other friends who played just trained one pokemon so I always felt like I was a better trainer than them.

train one to high level, EXP share on anyone +elite 4. In Crystal easiest way to get Pikamans to Level 40

Since I started playing at 8 years old, I always leveled them in a pattern.
Every 5 levels for one I leveled another, always made sure whatever I would be using for the next gym got to the level first though.
    Still do it.

The first time I played Yellow, I caught a Diglett before the third badge. Interestingly enough, out of the six remaining badges, a Ground-type is super-effective against three of the types and only vulnerable to one of the types. I showed up at the Elite 4 with a level 60 Dugtrio, an Ivysaur in the mid-20s, and a handful of Pokémon that hadn't even made it to level 20.

Then my Dugtrio met Lorelei's Pokémon.

I've kept a balanced team ever since then.

Back during my old Pokemon days I believed one Pokemon was enough to tackle the elite four, and only one Pokemon. Turns out it gets really boring after awhile, and once it faints your screwed, so I decided to train them all equally; just incase one of them faints.

Didn't do this until the 3rd gen, sadly.

the first time I ever played, I didn't know how to switch pokemon, so I ended up with a superpowered meganium, and a bunch of lvl 10s. Quite sad, I only figured out how to switch after restarting my game. Now I try to get my team within five levels of my highest level pokeon.

Most of the time I train all my pokemon equally, but sometimes one may become more powerful if I feel I'll need it more than the others. I also try to keep my starter the most powerful most of the time though.
