6th Gen OST Predictions

Here's a question I want to ask you all....

With the remakes coming out, what do you think the music will sound like this time? Will it be any better than their Advance counterparts? Do you think Game Freak will keep the trumpets? Do you think there will be more instruments added into the mix? Do you think the music will be much longer? Will there be a separate battle track for Wally? Will the legendary Weather Trio (Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza) each get their own variation of the legendary theme? What about Latios and Latias? Do you think Game Freak will also remix tracks from previous regions, like Johto and Kanto?

What do you guys think? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Well, if the title theme they've used in all the videos are any indication, it just sounds like GF orchestrafied them while keeping the trumpets.

I honestly don't see The Weather Trio getting their personal own remixes of the theme they have right now, but who knows?

As for Wally, at the very least I see them giving him the rival battle music. Like it always bugged me that he had the regular trainer battle music. He is a rival (using the RSE definition of it lol) is he not?

Latias and Latios may get a remix of the wild battle theme (alá FR/LG)

I think the soundtrack is going to be worth hearing. I'm excited to hear themes like Route 104 and Slateport City remixed. {:3}

I stated this in the DCC, but I think it'd be neat if either the Regis or the Weather Trio got their own individual remixes much like the beasts in HGSS and the Tao Trio in the Gen. V games. My personal suggestion was that Regice could have some xylophones or bells (anything that gives a wintery/icy feel), Regirock electric guitars and basses (because rock), and Registeel steel drums or something~ It'd also be neat if Wally got his own battle theme; iirc he and Green/Blue are the only rivals who have the regional VS Trainer music playing (though Green/Blue later has his own Champion theme and has the VS Gym Leader! (Kanto) theme playing when he's a Gym Leader).

Also, from what music has been given to us so far (Fortree City/Secret Bases, Gym Battles, and I think the title screen?), they seem like simple upgrades. Still, I'm looking forward to hearing the tracks with trumpets and French horns ;-;

IIRC, Fortree City/Secret Bases never had trumpets, but I did hear trumpets in the title screen and the Gym theme.

Yes, Fortree City was (one of the only places in Hoenn) without trumpets.

But I must say I'm digging into the new theme, it's so good.

Yeah, I don't recall trumpets in the original Fortree either. It was more of a jingle like sound.

Well I could hear the trumpets into the intro theme and Gym Theme, not so much in the Fortree theme. If they're bathing like those three then they will all sound brilliant.

I can't wait to listen to the wild music theme, and the rival themes. I hope they stay largely the same. Maybe give Wally his own remix of the battling theme.

That sounds awesome. This is one of the tracks I'm seriously looking forward to hearing, if they're anything like Fortree then I'll be so happy with that. ;

I really like this new Elite Four battle music so far. I'm pretty sure they'll be retaining most of the original music but of course update it with the new sound technology.

Now only if we can get a GBA Sounds in the game to hear the original versions of the music again...

E4 music? I don't think they've shown the real E4 music yet.

Edit: Get Tv showed some footage of the games, in it you can hear the music, so much nostaligia :) . They've done a great job of keeping the music as close as they can to the originals :3 Though I guess it's easier to do so for ORAS seeing how RS were the first games to not use the bits tracks that Gen I-II used (meaning DP remakes will probably sound very similar to the originals just like ORAS does compared to RS(E) )
