Over and under-leveling

I tend to like to pause a lot before progressing in games (I don't like to beat them too quickly, and I like to complete my Pokedex as much as possible as I go along), so I generally end up overleveling some inadvertently. X was probably the worst in that regard, thanks to the Exp. Share, but I don't really care that much if I'm overleveled, as Pokemon isn't much of a challenge anyway. If I'm doing a challenge, I don't generally spend as much time leveling/doing side stuff, as I usually want to play through the game quickly. I will do some extra training if I'm playing a nuzlocke, but not too much.

I tend to over-level because I have a habit of grinding in Pokémon while I multitask. Usually when I watch movies or TV shows I just run around the current route in whatever game I'm playing at the time and keep battling until the exp gains are too minimal to even be worth the time.

I always overlevel my Pokemon in-game and I always make sure my Pokemon have similar levels (all six of them). I love to stomp my rival, gym leaders and E4 without sweating. Also as the post above I have a habit of grinding while multitasking too.

Even with the Exp. Share in XY, I only find it to be overpowered if you keep it on the whole game. If you have it off at different points you find yourself to be basically on-par with the bulk of trainers throughout the game. In my Wedlocke, I entered Wulfric's Gym with two pairs at Level 55/56 (both with Pokémon very effective against Ice) and an untrained pair that I had as a replacement. Sometimes I like to grind while multitasking myself, too.
