Loved those scenes. Ougi is creepy but the way she was interacting with Ararararararagi was really a treat to watch. Almost like a snake.
Mathematics really is playing a big role this time around what with each episode so far focusing heavily on maths. Like, Euler's equation being utilized for the initial monologue, "Euler" being used by math-obsessed Oikura, the "math" test, then second episode concentrating on the "Monty Hall" problem and explaining it in terms of probability and whatnot. It kinda comes off as slightly superficial to me tbh but I don't mind as long as the story behind the events and the monologues are interesting.
Which they definitely are! I didn't think I'd like Oikura's character at all, initially. But now I'm interested in her - more specifically, to know what made her hate Araragi so much.
Also, haha, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who saw that she stabbed Araragi in front of Senjougahara and went "OH ****, GAHARA-SAN GON KILL YA, I SWEAR" and then she goes "I'll kill you!" and I'm like "That's my girl <3". Then she totally subverts it and her reasoning for the statement goes in a completely different direction than your expectations and you're like "...wow. Gahara-san, you really are something".
Hanekawa pulling Senjougahara helplessly was VERY cute to see for some reason. Hanekawa kawaii as always <3333
After the second episode, the mystery has me really interested. The obvious thing for now seems to point towards Oikura having feelings for Koyomi-kun and him doing something in the past that made her hate him for it but I just hope this series doesn't take that route. It hasn't so far. :v
I like the first OP more than the second. Ougi > Oikura. But the second OP obviously fits this arc more due to the whole 'maths-symmetry-oikura' angle. It was kinda eerie too, visually at least. Though neither have managed to dethrone my fave monogatari OPs. Still, they're good. Both of em. Good job, SHAFT.
Looking forward to more. :D
