Hiya! I'm Marshall, but you probably know me around here as Alex. I'm a 16-year old high school junior living in Rock Hill, South Carolina. I've been interested in computers since I was 6 and Pokémon since I was 8, never falling out of either. I love toying with software and making/modifying high level applications, and am familiar with all of the .NET flavours, Java, C, D, and Python; I also enjoy creating mods and add-ons for other larger systems. I game on and off and have been interested in RollerCoaster Tycoon 2/3 (primarily 2), Age of Empires I/II, SimCity Classic + 2000 + 4 (not 3K or 2013), Minecraft, old school RuneScape, and others.

Other than that, the field is open. Ask me absolutely anything you can think of! :)

What's your favorite and least favorite thing about living in Colorado?
Favorite thing would be the mountains, especially since my city, Colorado Springs, is right at the foot of it. Least favorite thing would be all the dope fiends that linger around. :/

What led you to join the Junior ROTC program?
To be perfectly honest, I'll say my interest and involvement with computers and the internet came to a staggering halt with my father, and I had to find a new vice to obsess over. I absolutely love it :D

What was your first Pokemon game, and what team led you to victory?
My first game was Emerald way back in 2006 (8 years ago smh), but sadly I never beat that game. The first one I beat was Gold, and I only did it because my Typhlosion and Noctowl were total badasses, and Johto Elite Four. I chucked Gold out of random frustration for it to never be seen again, but I have a flawless Noctowl named Insomniac on my SoulSilver in her memory. :)

And this is what happens when I don't look at this thread for two months. Sorry 'bout that. :s

What do you feel about working out?

What do you feel about girls working out?
Women working out can be either cute or weird depending on their physique, but overall they're rather fun to watch. As for guys, again, depending on their build they can either be cool, weird, or frightening (those thick neck dudes bother me). I really like seeing people with modest but visible definition. :3

Sure! I see you around in TC chat fairly commonly, so why not.

What do you think you might want to major in?

As a Colorado resident, have you ever gone snowboarding or skiing?

Have you played Pokémon XY yet? If so, where do they stand among your favorites in the series?

That has been a really tough question for me. Everyone I meet and have gotten to know in life have told me that IT is the perfect thing for me, and I am in total agreeance – it's something I excel leaps and bounds above virtually everyone in my age group and would easily make a killing doing it. The only question in my mind is whether I would enjoy doing it, as I have doubts that selling my passion would spare the pleasure it has.

Not myself, but I went snowboarding on vacation in Virginia once, and my father has before. The mere weather itself is a sight to behold; just the other day we got rain for the first time in months, and the mist exposed the facade of Cheyenne Mountain while simultanously while the rest of the landscape was covered with dark grey clouds, Pikes Peak was surrounded by white nimbostratus clouds with a beam of sunlight casting through into the Springs. Those two things rarely happen on their own—let alone together—and even as a local living here for two years it was hard for me to look away. :)

I actually haven't because I don't have a 3DS (I have Y though ironically), but I'm most definitely getting one of those along with OR/AS that are coming out in November. I hear it's not too bad, and from the screenshots I've seen, the graphics compared to their consoles are very reminiscent of Diamond and Pearl on the DS; this also brings me to expect increasingly better graphics within the generation. It should be good :D
