PC WiFi Tournament

Just to confirm I lost my main tourney match to POKEMASTERALEX 3-0.

A lot of hax really ruined what was an epic match.

Epic is right man. Great battle! We need to have a rematch sometime!

Yep definitely.

Just very disappointed because I was completely helpless against the crits in a match I feel could have gone either way otherwise.

You're right it wasn't swayed in either direction. Except para was all over the place so that scewed the match a little bit more. I'd say one crit per match isn't out of the ordinary. The only crazy one was on your steel type.

I still think a lot of skill and strategy was used on both parts however

I think you forgot the crit on my physical wall who was my key to stalling the match out too, but anyway lol.

I kinda disagree with the even-ness of the hax, but it was still a great game :)

confirming my loss in doubles to prince 1-0...i must confess i had some lucky hax, but still a good battle.

I'll be getting my matches done either late today or sometime tomorrow for sure, as long as I can catch Swish or T_Soul.

As for the singles match between lazybob5 and ADD Pikachu...ADD hasn't been on since July 25th.

Also pretty sure shinyhunter is going to get through too, ha.

Edit: And Lazybob in doubles...and Bass DX. lol.

Ryan, you can have the match if you like. Right now and for a little while I haven't got much time for Pokemon. I've just signed up to a league for another game (a formula one game) and most of my online time will be taken up with that.

I may not be back to Pokemon for a little while, plus I'm busy with a lot of extra Basketball practice.

I'm sure I'll see you all around soon, I may be back in like a month or so, but Pokemon is too far from my mind now to be able to give you a good match, sorry!

Aw man! Well alright, Swish, see you around then. Now I don't feel like my UU experience got me to the finals but I'll have to do my best. Still trying to get my singles/doubles done today :P

Yeah, ADD Pikachu hasn't been on since July 25th, aragorn hasn't been on since the 2nd when he requested to still be in UU. I guess that means more free rounds >_<

I'm battling Akasuna in doubles but I'm having just as hard a time as Aurasphere being on when he is. No offense :D

Sorry, Bill...T_Soul hasn't been on since Thursday and D_Azelf and I just alternate time periods we're on. This is the first time I haven't been able to set up a specific block of time to battle. Plus with PC lagging often and what not, even PM-ing is getting to be a problem. It seems he's either online when I'm out, which is fine of course but not conveinant, or he's on really early in the morning my time (and I doubt I could give enough effort into a battle at 7am over the summer X_x.)

Maybe a shuffle for round three is in order? XD That seemed to work out great last tournament, after you shuffled the matches one of the pairings finished right afterward. AS LONG AS I'M NOT BATTLING ALEX! >:O haha.

Much like Ryan's situation, Akasuna and I have not been on at the same time very often...it's quite hard to set up a specific battle time with different schedules and the site have trouble as well.

Which shuffling are you referring to? Maybe it's because my brained is fried that I can't remember; point is I don't. ^^

Anywho, I am not looking forward to making the pairings tomorrow. Oh, look at all the people I will have to DQ....aragornbird will have quite a bit of company now, I'm afraid.

Usually what I'll be doing is a) DQ'ing one player if s/he made zero or little effort to battle, and the opponent has posted here a lot(ie. you, Ryan :D ); b) If neither make any effort to contact me or post here, I get rid of both of them(ie. what happened to aragornbird); c) Both have legitimate reasons for not battling so I move both to the next round(ie. Aurasphere *hinthint*); and d) I DQ the person who lost the match and the winner goes on (ie. both of you know who you are :D ). The least common of the four is actually d. ;_;

Due to turnout I am seriously considering dropping the Side-Tourneys for future tourneys. Though I may just make one Side-Tourney for each tourney. For example, Ooka mentioned that I should have a Shoddy Side-Tourney, and I expect there are a few who want Uber and/or Monotype Side-Tourneys, XD.

that sounds like a good idea. I can't believe after so many tourneys there are still tons of no-shows. too bad we couldn't have like one day when the tourney is. But I guess it's too much to expect that people will want to devote the whole day to PC. Except a lot probably wouldn't mind.

A lot probably wouldn't mind. But think about it this way: look at the turnout when the deadline is 21 days....nothing would get done if it was 24 hours. XD This is why the Halloween Tournament failed.

Though I just think that the summer months are a horrible time to hold an online tourney. Just you wait, the Fall Tourney will be much more active. And once Platinum comes out, more still. ^^

I've also seen a few threads that asked for players' timezones. I didn't do this myself because I wanted the pairings to be as random as possible. Though I may have to revise my stance on this, heh. Perhaps I could subdivide the tourney into regions, where the European, American, Middle Eastern, and Australian champions finally get pitted against each other in the semi-finals. ^^

Okay, Round Three Pairings are up!

Round Three

Ryan24 VS Aurashpere

Bass DX VS _Prince_

Dark_Azelf VS Akasuna no Sasori

aragornbird VS Matt-O

lazybob5 VS shinyhunter011

POKEMASTERALEX VS World King's Lugia

Note that I moved Dark_Azelf VS Ryan24 & Aurasphere VS Akasuna no Sasori up a Round, and switching their opponents. They, like the rest of you, should have a battle in by Saturday, August 23rd, 2008. Good luck!

As for the two Side-Tourneys, Tortured_Soul's withdrawal this morning immediately made two people win by Default, leaving only one match left undone in each. Today is the deadline, and again I am faced with a tough decision. All three of you are active, so I can't DQ any of you for inactivity. So, here goes:

UU Side-Tourney

Ryan24 VS Morph

Ryan24 VS aragornbird/lazybob5

Morph VS aragornbird/lazybob5

aragornbird & lazybob5 will have some more(circa 2 weeks) to battle, with the winner going against both Morph and Ryan24. As a result of the circumstances, I ask that you also tell me the final scores of your battles. In the event of a tie for first place, those two will have one more battle to determine the winner. This person will be the UU Champion, and will receive two bred Pokemon of his choice.

Doubles Side-Tourney

_Prince_ VS Dalevl

Akasuna no Sasori VS lazybob5

Akasuna no Sasori VS Ryan24

Ryan24 VS lazybob5

Okay, this is how I had UU's before I put aragornbird back into it. _Prince_ & Dalevl just battle each other because they are the only ones to move on as a result of battling and winning. The rest of you will be in a Semi-Final Round Robin, much like in the UU Final. So once again I ask for final scores from each of you. The winner of the Round Robin will face the winner of _Prince_ VS Dalevl for the title of Doubles Champion. This person will receive two bred Pokemon of his/her choice.

And a note to lazybob5 & Akasuna no Sasori: As a rule I split people apart if they faced timezone issues in their previous battles(as I did in the Main Tourney today). But since this is so close to the final battle, I cannot do this with you two.

Okay, Good luck! =D
