"Ack... Keheh... A battle you say? While I'm not interested in harming that pretty face of yours, I guess a quick battle would work out just fine," Retus said as he put his arm around Alaska's waist and lightly pulled her against the side of his own. Retus began to look at her with a bright white glimmer in his working eye as his large grin had returned. "Don't expect me to hold back though. I wouldn't dare disrespect a lady that way," Retus whispered back into her own ear.
Alaska simply laughed in response. She let go of his neck and walked a few meters away. She looked at him with a serious expression. "Would you like to go first?" she asked. Her face was emotionless and cold, which was very unlike her. She leaped up by a tree and slashed repeatedly at one of its branches. The branch stayed still as if absorbing the hit before falling into pieces on the ground. "…That's how I chop my lunch!" she said, returning to her usual expression of delight.

"Hmm.... Angry are we?" Retus responded back at her as she slashed one of the tree branches. "Well if you insist..." Retus continued as he honed his own claws. His eyes began to glow a dark red color. Retus kept his large grin as he caught his breath after that chokehold that Alaska gave him. "Keh..." He whispered as he had dashed forward to Alaska's position. As Retus Ran, he zipped left and right at a blinding speed. As soon as he got close, He charged with Shadow claw.

Alaska tried to keep her eyes on Retus as he zipped forward, and he struck her with Shadow Claw. His large grin taunted Alaska. She really wanted to wipe his grin clean off his face. The Shadow Claw didn't have much effect, so she easily retaliated with aerial ace. She slashed upward and then downward.

(I wish I could make my post longer, but battles are hard to add to :/ xD )

Retus stood still and was directly hit by the Sneasel's Aerial ace. As he was hit by the attack, Retus simpily stood still not budging an inch. The large grin on his face didn't go away. "Is that it? No wonder you need all need an escort." He taunted. "Just kidding. Your just holding back right?" Retus instantly dashed forward and preformed a Low sweep on Alaska's legs. Afterwards he jumped backwards and Honed his claws a bit more.

(Yeah I know. It can be tough to come up with stuff. I'm trying my best to manage though)

"No," Alaska replied as she leaped backward, dodging Retus' Low Sweep. "Are you?" she asked as she used agility, leaping around him around quickly. Alaska's claws hardened into steel, and she darted toward Retus, using Metal Claw at his face. She had to defend herself, her team, and Leigh's team against the Sableye's taunts.

"Erk!" The sableye had yelled as his face had been scratched by Alaska's Metal claw. "Grr... Felt that one." He said as he felt the scratch mark on his face. Retus's hands began to glow brightly and so did his eyes. He opened up his palm and aimed it toward Alaska. "Alright. How's about this?" He said as he fired a large ray of light that glittered as much as his own eyes. Several sharp gems where scattered within the beam. (Power Gem)

Just as Alaska was about to leap out of the way, the Power Gem hit her and threw her back. "Grrr..." Alaska said, getting up. Her claws extended and glowed purple as she used Swords Dance, raising her attack. She charged forward to Retus, her fist forming ice at negative temperatures. Just as she attempted to trick him into expecting another Ice Punch, her tail feathers extended and turned to steel and she nimbly flipped, sending an iron tail toward Retus.

Retus' eyes began glowing white so he would see his opponent's next move. As Alaska had charged toward him, Her fist had begun to take the form of chilling ice. Retus remembered how that last ice punch felt, what an experience. Though the ice punch was a trick to fake out Retus. Instead, Alaska had attempted iron tail. Detecting her next move, He immediately dove into his own shadow to dodge the attack. "kehehehe..." He laughed sinisterly as he had appeared right behind Alaska and went in for shadow sneak.

Alaska turned and was hit by Shadow Sneak. "Agh! You're a fun one," she said as she darted around him in circles, again performing Agility. She knew that another hit or two would finish her off. It was a risky move, but she sent over a large Shadow Ball to try and distract Retus. Brick Break wouldn't do a thing to this shadow...

Retus was hit in the Chest by Alaska's Shadow ball. Retus' eyes followed her as she continued running circles around him. He yawned and once again taunted Alaska. "30 seconds. 30 seconds and We'll be done." His hands were glowing with a dark aura. At the same time, Retus once again honed his claws. "Comon! I'm still breathing!" He yelled out cheerfully. As Retus watched alaska, His eyes temporarily glowed pink... A sign of attraction. They quickly turned red again.

"Thirty seconds. Thirty seconds and we'll be done." Retus' hands were glowing with a dark aura. At the same time, Retus once again honed his claws. "C'mon! I'm still breathing!" he exclaimed. His taunt only did the opposite. Alaska immediately stopped in her tracks, sending clouds of dust up into the air. What's he mean by that? she thought, just standing there and looking at him. Retus' eyes flashed pink and then returned to being red again. Alaska continued to stand there. "...Thirty seconds are up," she said, as an excuse for zoning out and not attacking.

"Kehehe... Not even gonna try are you?" Retus had clenched his fists and walked slowly to Alaska. "It'd be no fun to end it like that. Tell ya what? I'll give ya a free attack. Comon." He said, Making a hand gesture to lure her toward his trap. He had a good feeling that he had already won. All he had to do was show his secret weapon... The witty sableye leaned against a tree and once again gave off a large grin. "You hate when I make this look don't you? Hehehe..."

"Kehehe... Not even gonna try are you?" Retus had clenched his fists and walked slowly to Alaska. "It'd be no fun to end it like that. Tell ya what? I'll give ya a free attack. C'mon," he said, trying to lure her. "I don't accept free attacks," Alaska responded stubbornly. The Sableye leaned against a tree and gave a large grin. "You hate when I make this look don't you? Hehehe..." Alaska looked down in annoyance. "You win," she said, avoiding his last question. She turned toward the others. "We have our escort."

Felicia watched as Alaska lost but didn't catch what she said so she jumped up and ran over to her. "Alaska...could you repeat what you just said" she said shyly looking at her a faint blush of embarrassment on her face as she spoke.

Retus gave a dissapointed look. He hadn't even had a chance to show off his secret weapon. "Hmm... well that's no fun. I didn't even get to show you all my moves" He told Alaska as he had walked up to her. "Observe." Retus crouched down and picked up a handful of grass. After throwing it into the air, He performed Shadow hold to keep the bit of grass afloat as if they were frozen in time. Retus' eyes glowed pink again as he stared at Alaska waiting for a reaction.

Alaska's expression of annoyance changed to a smile as Felicia approached and asked, "Alaska...could you repeat what you just said?" She seemed to look embarrassed. "Sure! Retus won so he's our escort," Alaska told Felicia. "Hmm... well that's no fun. I didn't even get to show you all my moves," Retus told Alaska and then walked over to her. "Observe." Retus crouched down and picked up a handful of grass. After throwing it into the air, He performed Shadow hold to keep the bit of grass afloat as if they were frozen in time. Retus' eyes glowed pink again as he stared at Alaska waiting for a reaction. Alaska watched the grass curiously and couldn't contain her fascination. "Wooooow!" she exclaimed like a young child. She poked at the clump of grass and then realized that she had just shown her weakness for interesting things. "I mean, it's nice," she said, looking at her claws.

Leigh was fascinated by the battle. This Retus fellow was no joker. He would be a perfect escort. What Leigh was most curious about though was what move he had just performed. This unknown move could keep specific things frozen in time. As he pondered, Felecia excitedly jumped up and ran toward Alaska and Retus. "h...hey! Wait up!" Leigh said as he hurried to follow suit. He turned back and asked Flare "Hey ya comin or what?" He asked cheerfully to get Flare up and moving again.

Retus was amused by Alaska's playful personality and how much she had tried to hide it. After showing her amusement of the floating bits of grass, She quickly went back to a serious tone of voice, Looking at her claws. "Heh, Comon, Cheer up will ya? No need to be such a sore loser. Ya gotta liven up a little!" He said cheerfully, Leaning against Alaska's Shoulder. Retus then held one of Alaska's claws and compared them to his own. "Hmm, I gotta say though, Nice job with the claws. Just about as sharp as my own..." He complimented.

Retus noticed two other pokemon that had been near them. "Are you guys an exploration team also? I'm willing to take a second team with me if your interested."

Felicia glanced at him just catching the end of his sentence "I'm willing to take a second team with me if your interested."

Felicia smiled and nodded speaking up even though she knew he would re-ask Leigh or Flare because of her age "Yeah we'd like to travel with you as well if thats okay with you" she said bouncing up and down excitedly.

"Hm?" The Tepig asked, looking up again with surprise. Wow. He was really zoning out lately. That really couldn't be good. Maybe he should go get checked out by a Chansey or something in the near future. He looked over at his departing team mate and jumped back to his feet. "I'm coming! I'm coming, wait up!" he said, rushing after them.

"Heh, Comon, Cheer up will ya? No need to be such a sore loser. Ya gotta liven up a little!" he said, leaning on Alaska. Alaska looked at him a bit wide eyed. She realized that after all this time, her grief that she had been holding internally was starting to show, due to her distrust of Retus. I have to stay strong. Janice told me I must, she thought, and then laughed. "I'm not a sore loser. I just don't trust you." Leigh floated over behind Felicia. Alaska looked at Leigh and smiled. "Hmm, I gotta say though, nice job with the claws," Retus complimented. "Oh, thank you," replied Alaska. Retus looked at Leigh and Felicia. "Are you guys an exploration team also? I'm willing to take a second team with me if your interested."
