Poem of the Week 5

[Daydream]

There may not have been a lot of entries, but what we do have entered is of a very high quality (I actually pity the judges). Plus, I actually don't think that it's because the prompt is too plain, but because it's rather complex. I think it's hard to truly capture what an emotion feels like to you and then to express it in poetry-form. Everyone will see it just that touch differently.

On a second note, I can't wait to see who wins because I, for one, thought it was a great prompt. And the challenge allows you to become better, no?

I just can't cope,
With how you pressure me so.
I'm falling down a slope,
And I have no way to slow.

Yes, I have a brain,
But no one likes me.
I don't think I'm sane,
And that's what they see.

At times I just cry,
Face down on the bed.
All the reasons why,
That's the pain in my head.

And when it gets worst,
When I'm my most sad,
I'll not be the first,
A person going mad.

I'm Not done just yet,
Not the time, you see.
I'll remain here alone,
Melancholy.

Oh wow. ;o__o I didn't think I'd win, I really liked Zirkle's myself. Thanks a lot, (I actually, out loud, in a very high-pitched voice, screamed OHYAY I'VE WON!) I'm really glad my poetry is liked. :3

Congratulations Daydream! Your's was a truly great poem, and all the rest were beautiful entries as well.
By the way, you used my favourite abab rhyming scheme. xD
The judging did take quite a lot of time, because of all the different opinions among the various judges. We managed to reach to a consensus though. :P

I wish that I could hug you now,
Kiss you on the lips so tenderly,
But I am so far from you, dear,
But that does not mean we won't meet again.

For now this letter will suffice
For my ever-endearing love.
Don't be afraid to follow your dreams,
As mine have already been fulfilled.

Do not be held back by your attachment to me,
But remember me when you can.
Do not be afraid to love another,
But remember that I approve.

I'm sorry that it has to be this way,
But fate cannot be reversed.
I'll love you forever like I loved you before,
So do not fret, and do not be dismayed.

I am watching you now from my new Home,
Nevermore to be injured in war.
And as I seal this letter with a kiss,
I whisper one last "I love you."

Waking on a cold morning
I realize I've been dreaming
Dreaming of your warmth
Enveloping me
Protecting me from the chill

I dreamt you held me close
Warming my body with your own
Shutting out the Minnesota cold.

But waking on a cold morning
Reality engulfs me
I realize it was just a dream
And your warmth is simply
The warmth of my down comforter
Wrapped tight around me

It is hard to force myself
To get up out of bed
And into the cold
But I still do
For I harbor hopes
That my dream of last night
Could become reality tonight.

Poem?

Hello. I'm a little mixed up on if I can still summit a poem or not.

I apologize if it's too late, and if it is, please let me know.

Here's my Poem:

Terror or Bliss​

Caught between a moment of terror and bliss,
Should she hide her face from what lies within,
Or settle into the gently kiss?

What known not to her moments ago
The trueness of her heart sprouting about,
Her feelings hidden began to shout.

What could not be released,
but no longer hidden
Poured out of her soul and she was smitten!

A smile graced her tearstained face
His retreating form now feet away.

She could not breath and could not speak.
With a look of bliss and resentment,
she fell into a wondered sleep.
