PokéCommunity Puzzle League! (Puzzle spin-offs chat & challenges!)

I'm still loving Picross too, even redoing puzzles is enjoyable. Some DLC would awesome though - more Pokemon or 3D or colour cross or link a pix!!

Can you believe Pokemon Shuffle has been out for a whole year now!

I'm almost done all the picross, except for the alt. world. I don't really like this mode :/

Wow a year Shuffle? For me it feel more than that!! I haven't played much the last few months, but I still play sometime :3

Yeah I'm not that keen on the Alt World either, keep putting it off! I seem to have a night time routine now where I replay a few of my favourite puzzles before bed, it's quite relaxing!

I have to admit that although I do check in with Shuffle everyday I don't actually always play it that much. I've kinda found peace with not catching em all! {XD}

Major new update to Shuffle on the 3DS today!

Previously, the maximum level that a Pokémon could reach in Pokémon Shuffle was 10. Using the new Enhancement that was added with this update, Raise Max Level, it becomes possible to increase a Pokémon's max level even higher. There is a set limit to how many times you can use a Raise Max Level on each particular Pokémon. As of March 23, 2016, there will be 23 Pokémon that you can use this Enhancement on. The number of Pokémon available and the number of times the Enhancement can be used are expected to gradually increase over time.

A number of other Enhancements have also been added, which will be useful for battles and for making your Pokémon stronger. Three levels of Exp. Booster will increase their Exp. Points. A Level Up will raise your Pokémon's level by one. Discover all the great Enhancements to improve your Pokémon!

This update also introduces Survival Mode! In this mode, you can battle against Pokémon one after another to try to reach a new record. You will take on this challenge with the first four Support Pokémon that you pick—you cannot change Pokémon midway through your challenge. You have a limited number of moves to complete as many stages as you can, and when you run out of all of your moves, that will be the end of your challenge.

The new Mission Cards feature allows you to play while clearing special missions written on different cards. These Mission Cards come with all kinds of special tasks for you to complete, such as "Defeat Pikachu using an Electric-type Pokémon!" When you complete missions, you will receive points based on how difficult the missions are. Based on the number of points that you get, you can receive a variety of rewards.

Amelia, the character who guides you through the tutorial in this game, has more to share with you in the latest update! She will tell you how much she recommends a particular Pokémon in this new feature.

Some other more minor changes have been added to make Pokémon Shuffle even more fun. It's easier to see which Pokémon you've caught as you browse the stages, as well as to move between stages and zones. Recommended levels are now displayed so you can be prepared before you enter. And finally, the list of your Pokémon is even better, with more information about your Pokémon clearly displayed.

Hmm, pretty cool, may take some time to get used to. Some of the features are in the Mobile version already and I found it confusing switching between the two so now they'll feel more similar again. It's good that it's getting a major update, kinda breathes new life into it after a year!

I haven't had a chance to try out all the new features yet but I quite like the Missions, similar to Picross challenges.

What do you guys make of it all? :t025:

Honestly throughout this gameplay I expected Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard to have some higher base stats soon with other Pokemon having changes (as in, some Pokemon getting nerfs and buffs) in the future, but this change is really interesting. The idea of the mission cards and survival is really great too.

Anyway, my Mobile run is doing okay, but although I have been getting a great amount of Special Pokemon (I got all of them so far, I actually expected a slip here and there lol), but even though I beat the main stages (350 of them), I'm way far behind since I need 58 more main Pokemon to catch and these Pokemon are really hard to catch, and I still need a lot of S-ranks to unlock some of the Expert stages.

I'm also playing on my 3DS too, and I started it around the 1 year anniversary of Shuffle. I'm trying to see if I can keep up even though I'm very far behind. However, I'm playing the 3DS version not as often though.

As for Picross, I just beat Area 08. Back to Picrite daily grinding again since there really isn't anything else to do.

I've beat all the Pokemon in Picross :(

I have to play Shuffle again. I didn't knew for the updates! I need tot try that :D

I don't have much levels on my Pokemon. They are pretty weak honestly.

Managed to beat and catch the first 150 main stages in my 3DS Shuffle run. I also got the Lucarionite thanks to the Mission #2 card. Now I'm pretty much ready for my future Special events despite my limited Pokemon and surprisingly it's going well:

Absolite Event: Went for all items and despite my Pokemon were really low levelled (two of them are even Level 1 which are Scyther and Scizor!) I managed to rank around 2000+. Absolite is most likely mine now!

Noivern: Despite my Level 1 Ampharos, Attack Up and Mega Start is enough to beat it and catch it.

Now I'm left with Safari but I don't think I have time for it lol.

As for my Mobile, I decided to aim for S-ranking instead of catching the main stage Pokemon which I missed since it's really hard to catch them because they are in the latter three areas, and their catch rates are really low. I managed to S-rank some of them here and there and I managed to beat and catch Virizion and Terrakion because of it.

Speaking of Picross, I realised that there are some achievements which you can get Picrites and some of them involve 50 times of usage of abilities. Well, gonna grind it all.

I did this :3 It's a easy way to get picrites.
Now if I want to do it, I must do the challenges when you have to use *this* and *this* Pokemon.
Example: Clear a challenge using Charmand and Treecko and Squirtle.

Wow I actually got the Absolite!

This update has definitely rejuvenated me a bit! I like the Mission Cards a lot. I'm trying for the Audino stage one at the mo but struggling to get exactly 7 combos. Any other figure but 7. Grr!

That will have to wait though cuz I really want to encounter that Angry Pikachu in the Safari!

Hey, puzzle pals! How ya doing?

I'm struggling with Shuffle motivation again, still play a few games most days but for the most part don't care about progress or catching anymore and I'm finding all these new mechanics a bit much. I'm glad it's still getting love from the developers though.
Still in adoration of Picross and happily replay stages pretty much every night! Really need to find the time to revisit the old classics too, it's been too long!

Looking forward, I really hope we get Co-Master released here, a board game would be incredibly neat! Though I wish it was for 3DS or Wii U rather Mobile. What do you make of it so far?

From Bulbapedia:
Pokémon Co-Master is a single-player game that features online battles.
Pokémon Co-Master is a strategy board game using Pokémon figures. Players collect and build their own deck from a large range of figures with different characteristics. Each player moves figures, aiming to reach their opponent's goal first.
The gameplay is based on that of the Pokémon Trading Figure Game with slight changes. For example, Trainer figures no longer exist, and all item cards work automatically.
Aiming to become the Hotel King, the player arrives in Carmonte Island, an artificial island housing a city of resorts. The island hosts the Pokémon Figure Games (PFG) World Tournament, where its top prize is the symbol of Carmonte Island - Jewel Tower. The tournament is hosted by the tower's current owner - Master Rosé.
Along his way to the island, the player encounters and befriends Luca, the scion of a prestigious family. During the tournament, the player collects figures and plates, partners with an AI named Carlo, and challenges various NPC to a duel in order to reach the boss in the highest level. In the defeat of each boss, the player will receive an emblem as a testimony to their victory.
After befriending a popular idol named Sharon, the player is stalked by members of the Roger Family, an influential organization in Carmonte Island.

Hi guys
I haven't played Shuffle or picross for a while, but I'll probably be playing shuffle again soon! I hope picross will get some downloadable content with new puzzles and stuff.

Ugh, well I had a little Shuffle resurgence as I'd saved up a lot of coins so managed to pass a few more levels with no problems, but it soon goes don't it! Plus you have to pay each time you play a Great Challenge stage now! Why must you do this to us?!

Another gripe to get off my chest, why can't you play other stages whilst taking a break from Survival Mode?! I'm quite liking that feature though so I'll end on that positive note! :)

Oh, and you can catch a shiny Magikarp and shiny Gyarados in the current Safari. That's cool too! :)
