Apart from Starter Pokemon and Legendaries, between FRLG and RSE, which generation do you think had the better overall Pokédex; did you prefer the Pokemon from the Kanto Dex or Hoenn Dex in Gen 3? Basically, which games had the better Pokemon? Did you think FRLG or RSE had better Pokemon to catch and use from the earlier routes? Also, which Pokédex did you enjoy completing more, if you did?

I'm personally more fond of Hoenn PokéDex than Kanto.

I'm more big of a fan of Hoenn region, generally, so a bit of bias-y might come into play here, but ignoring that, I feel like Hoenn Dex has had more interesting range of Pokémon available, such as Metagross, Breloom, Ninetales, and so forth.

In fact, Hoenn's PokéDex is the only one I had ever tried completing, which was in my second (perhaps third?) run of Emerald. Sadly, I wasn't quite successful as there were around a couple of Pokémon left for me to capture, but regardless of how tough I tried, I just wasn't able to get a hold of them.

I completed my Hoenn Pokédex in Emerald back in 2009 before I wiped it not too long ago. That said, it's a tough decision - FRLG has better early-game stuff (like Mankey, Nidoran, Butterfree), but I do like Hoenn's Pokémon quite a bit.

I kinda liked Hoenn's Pokedex that teeny bit better, but that's probably because I actually played Hoenn fully and not Kanto. Kanto still has access to nice stuff at early stages so it's pretty much equal ground with the two regions.

Definitely in for Hoenn Pokédex! I love how there are more new Pokémon at the time being part of the regional dex. It would have been perfect if oldies like Pikachu and Natu aren't part of the Hoenn Dex.
