Pokémon Black and White

(Srry, can you pretend that my character is in the current town, as I do not have time to do a catch up post, he is in the battle club, so I will just post this post before I go tend to a family emergency which could take a week to fix.)

Spoiler:

Lance walked in the door with Fray and Oshawott in tow. When he came in he saw a sight he never saw before, and he was craving to do a random battle.

"The battle club." Nico said happily.

The room was very organized and Lance knew that this would be a place to battle, and that he would get better if he spent some time here.

When Lance was about to go and register, a very bulky man stepped in his way.

"Welcome to the Battle Club, son! I'm Don George, the manager." he greeted him, sounding very welcoming.

"I want to do a random double battle." Lance said as he looked at Nico.

Nico then said, "I want to watch him battle."

"Go to the right, and then I will hook you up with a mystery battler." Don George said.

"How come you don't wanna do your own battle?" Lance asked Nico.

"Simple, I'm a pokemon breeder, I breed certain genes and skills between certain pokemon." Nico replied.

"Cool." Lance said as he stepped onto a platform and he was raised onto a field which then grew water and scattered rocks.

Smiling at the current enviroment for the battle, Lance then inquired, "Where's my opponent?"

"I'm here." A girl of about sixteen said as she smiled and said, "Name's Lara. I don't think it'll be that easy to beat me. Especially in a double battle that is my specialty."

"You may be suprised by the Pokemon that I use." she added as she smiled at him.

Lance then narrowed his eyes and then said, "Let's begin."

"Begin!" The automated referee said as Lara quickly drew out a pair of pokeballs and tossed them at the field.

Suddenly a small orange bird emerged, and then made its cry, "Tor-chic-chic."

Another pokemon then emerged, another bird in itself, but this bird was blue, and it was saying, "Pip-pip-lup!"

"Okay." Lance said as he withdrew Oshawott and Fray from their pokeballs.
Pidove simply landed on one of the rocks and began flying up into the air, soaring above the field.

Oshawott then came out and dived into the water, and began swimming at high speeds, Lance was examining the two pokemon, and he knew that the only way to outthink Lara was to make her use all of her attacks.

Pidove began flapping, its every single breath causing its miniscule chest to bob up and down in a rhythmic motion.

Oshawott was swimming underwater, weaving through the water almost as if there was a path made for it.

"Piplup! Go underwater and chase after Oshawott." Lara said as Piplup closed its wings close to its body, jumped up into the air, and went into the water without causing a disturbance due to being as flat as a needle.

Bringing out his pokedex, Lance then smirked as he then said, "Oshawott. Tackle Piplup, then water gun on Torchic."

Oshawott quickly gathered the speed inside of that small sized body and suddenly rammed Piplup so hard that Piplup fell to the ground on its side, and Oshawott then jumped out of the water and released a focused torrent of water at Torchic, so strong that Torchic was forced to fall over, but Lara was smiling, which was very peculiar.

"Torchic!" she screamed as Torchic began running and picking up speed just to jump and scratch Pidove. Pidove jerked in pain and then ended up falling out of the air with a limp body, causing a moderately sized splash in the water

Lance's plan was to have Pidove provide backup, but this girl wanted to put a stop to his plans, and so Lance then decided to change up his tactics.

"Tail Whip." Lance said to Oshawott as Oshawott leaped up, and using a spin as propulsion, whipped its tail at Torchic before turning to a nosedive to go back into the water, only to be interrupted by a peck from Piplup. Oshawott then fell into the water as Piplup turned over to follow suit.

Lance then smiled and said, "Brave Bird!"

The body of water then changed colors right below Piplup. The color changed from blue to a blood red, and suddenly, Pidove came out of the water with a new energy that pulsated with every flap of Pidove's wings, and Pidove then went and rammed Piplup, causing Piplup to spin and to hit its head on land.

Oshawott then went to tackle the downed Piplup and then jumped around, using Pidove's back as a springboard to drown Torchic with another torrent of water from its mouth.

Chapter 4 - part 1
"The Purrloin Purrsuit"

It was still morning as David alongside with Clover to his right and Pyro to his left were walking through route 2 hoping they would reach the next town soon. The route was peaceful and quiet, not even one trainer or pokemon to battle, but David had trained his pokemon well so far as they are strong and skilled up to this point. David lifted Clover and Pyro up and put them on his shoulder. The two pokemon liked being on David's shoulder and rubbed their head on David's neck as a reply. Clover and Pyro were very attached to David and liked spending time with him. In Clover's case it was clear why their bond was so strong, they meet several years before and this strengthened the bond they had today, but with Pyro it was a mystery. He was David's pokemon for only one day and it was like they knew each other for ages. Maybe it was the fact that Pyro liked David's confident and strong nature or maybe it was because David was so careful to his pokemon…….time will tell….or maybe not. The end of the route was just in front of them…they could see the signpost that had written on it the name of the next town. They reached the sign and saw written " StriatonTown." As David wanted to go on something jumped out of a nearby bush and was now sitting on top of the sign. It was a purple cat like pokemon that was gazing at David. David pulled out his Pokedex and looked for information about the pokemon.

" Purrloin the Devious Pokemon: Its cute act is a ruse. When victims let down their guard, they find their items taken. It attacks with sharp claws."​

"How can a little thing like you be so mischievous ?" David looked at the cat cautious.

"Purrrr". And with that another Purrloin jumped from a tree and snatched David's Pokedex with its tail and ran away back on the path.

"Purr....Purrloin!" the cat from the sign said in goodbye and went to catch up to her friend.

"Come back you little thieves." David said as he started running after them.

Pyro and Clover charged after David, Clover using it's String Shot to swing from tree to tree while Pyro was running beside David. David finally caught up to the two pokemon that were just in front of him. David jumped to catch the Purrloin that had his pokedex but as he was in midair the Purrloin threw the Pokedex leaving David to dash on the ground. He got up and continued to chase after them all covered in dust with and angry expression on his face. David ran like the wind and in no time he was once again at the tail of the two pokemon, Clover and Pyro right after him. This time David tried to get his pokedex without jumping but as he got close to the Purrloin that held his Pokedex, the cat threw the device to the other one and so on back and forth.

"Ok guys on my mark, catch one of them…..3….2…1….NOW!!!!!!"

Both Clover and Pyro jumped towards one of the Purrloin but the two pokemon went through a bush and went into the forest.

"Just great…the chase goes on." He said putting his hand on his head.

"Sewaddle!!!." The pokemon cried trying to cheer David up.

"Don't worry I still have some strength in me…we'll get it back….somehow." he laughed and then dashed over the bush and went into the forest.

David was now deep in the forest and no sight of the two thieves, he was looking in every direction and was trying to spot and movement from the felines. Clover and Pyro were doing as well. One of the Purrloin crawled from behind a bush behind Pyro's back and pushed him and quickly leaped into the bush. Pyro turned around and didn't see anything ….he thought that maybe he imagined it. Then the cat came out again this time playing a prank on Clover. The bug pokemon thought the same thing but Pyro turned to see Clover turned also so the two nodded their head like they knew what to do. The two pokemon were facing forwards once again. The cat came out again going for David this time but as it was close Clover and Pyro turned and shouted for David. David turned and grabbed the cat by its tail just as it wanted to run. But as the cat was looking at David it sprung its claws and scratched Davids face.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawww." He yelled as he dropped the cat.

David was angrier than ever. He started running after the cat, Pyro chasing after him. Clover instead went the opposite direction behind some bushes. David had the two cats in sight again but as he was running he noticed that Clover was missing but Pyro cried assuring him that she was ok.

"OK then. Pyro I want you to go right and try to get in front of them while I keep running as a diversion."

"Tepig." The fire pokemon shouted as he dashed behind a bush.

He was now running alone trying to get as close as possible to the two pokemon. After passing an Oran tree the two cats stopped in their tracks. They were facing Pyro and Clover so they tried to run back but David was just behind so they were trapped. The purloin that was holding the pokedex threw it in the Oran tree on a branch and then jumped a few meters away with its friends and lifted their tail and sprung out their claws read for battle. Clover jumped on David's shoulder and got some leafs that she had on her back and gave them to him showing him to squeeze them and rub his face to heal his scratch.

"So that's why you left off!? Thanks I can always count on you." Petting him and putting him down.

"Now guys let's punish these thieves." He said after rubbing his face.

"Clover….Pyro use a double Tackle on them."

The two pokemon started running towards the two pokemon gaining speed. They dashed trying to hit them but just as they we close the two Purrloin jumped to evade the attack, but not for long, as the quickly dived down with a scratch attack on David's pokemon. Clover and Pyro's face turned red with three marks that faded after a few seconds. The two Purrloin were sitting a few meters away one of them licking its paw and one of them blowing on its claws. David felt sorry for his pokemon being scratched as he knew very well how that felt. The two cats started running launching another Scratch attack.

"Guys you jump this time." As the cats were getting closer.

But the cats jumped right after them. David reacted quickly and told the two pokemon to dive back and use Ember and Razor Leaf. The attacks sent the two cats flying down on the ground. Clover and Pyro acted on their own and as they were falling down the landed on the two cats then retreating towards David with a big smile on their face.

"Good job guys! I liked the finishing touch."

The cats got up and dusted themselves and growled in anger. The cats went running and started circling Clover and Pyro and as they were running started using Sand Attack covering them in sand. The two cats continued doing that, somehow feeling pleased that they were trapped in the dust cloud.

"Clover use String Shot to get out of there and you Pyro use Defense Curl."

If he couldn't see his pokemon in the dust cloud that meant that the two Purrloin didn't either so it was the perfect scene to trick the two Purrloin. Finally the Purrloin stopped and saw that the two pokemon were missing only a dust ball was on the floor. The tow cats approached it cautious. David told Pyro to use Tail Whip and the pig pokemon popped out its tail and started wagging it. The two Purrloin started playing with it. David waited until one of the Purrloin were in front of Tepig's nose which was still covered by the dust.

"Now Pyro use Ember. Clover come down and use Bug Bite."

Pyro launched a stream of fire spark at one of the Purrloin revealing its hideout while Clover leaped from a nearby branch and used Bug Bite on the remaining Purrloin. The cats were down on the ground again but somehow managed to get up and went running again for Clover and Pyro this time on from the left side and one from the right side. The two launched a fierce Fury Swipes.

"Use Ember and Razor Leaf to counter." David quickly yelled as the two thieves were approaching.

But the cats slashed right through the leaves and spark of fire and scratched the two pokemon with repeated hits until finally retreating. Clover and Pyro were gasping for air, being exhausted from the multiple hits. Seeing this, the two cats went for another Fury Swipes but this time David didn't want to let his pokemon get hurt even more. As the two were approaching and were on the verge of scratching Clover and Pyro he told the two to duck. The two Purrloin scratched themselves instead of Clover and Pyro and jumped a few meters away aching in pain, their face being all red from the scratches.

"Ok time to finish this…Sewaddle use String Shot to tie them up and then follow up with Air Slash and you Pyro use Ember."

Clover launched a thin silky web that quickly trapped the two Purrloin. The jumped in the air and launched its powerful Air Slash while Pyro followed up with its Ember. The blade of air clashed with the two Purrloin hitting them hard and then the Ember burned them and the silky web. The cats fainted on the ground.

"Good job guy you did it!!!!" David burst into cheers.

Clover and Pyro sat down feeling exhausted from their battle. Seeing this David told them to wait there a bit. He went and climbed up the Oran tree and got his Pokedex and some berries. He gave some to Clover and some to Pyro to eat and regain their strength. He was looking across to the two Purrloin that were still fainted and then at his hand which still held some berries. After Clover and Pyro finished their treat and regained their stamina leaving the two cats just as they were regaining conscious. The two cats were amazed to see in front of them a pile of berries that were sitting on a leaf. They looked after David just as he turned towards then and smiled. The two cats smiled and started eating the berries.
After a while they reached again the end of the route, but just as they were about to leave a strong wind blew behind David. He felt just like a big pokemon was sitting behind him but when he turned the thing was gone but behind some bushes came out the two Purrlion to wave them goodbye with their tail as they entered Striaton City…..

She ran through the first route, and got to Accumula Town. She saw Melissa there, and went to greet her.
"Hi Melissa!" said Ashley
"Hey, Ashy." replied Mel.
Melissa just ran off, and didn't say anything else. Ashley wanted to go and follow Melissa, but she also really wanted to go to Striaton City as well.

She ran to route 2, and found a Lillipup there, she seemed to know the Lillipup. She threw a Pokeball at it, but it bounced off.
Then she remembered, it was Melissa's...
"You saved Lilli!" she screamed, when Ashley showed her.
"Want to battle, now?" asked Mel.
"Yes!"
They sent out Cino and Lilli.....

Chapter 4 - part 2
"Dancing towards victory?"

"Thanks Don George, I'm sure that we're ready now!" David said as he exited the Battle club and waves at Don George.

"Don't mention it! It was a pleasure seeing your battle style."

David had been in Striaton City for half a day and he had already seen the whole city and did some training at the battle club. Now he was heading towards the Pokemon center to heal his pokemon. He was smiling as he was walking and enjoying the perfect sunny day. Yeah, it was perfect alright, just perfect for David to earn his first badge. Striaton city was just a bit bigger that the town before bit had more thing to do. There was the trainer school which David was just passing, a tall building which was destined for beginner trainers so they can study a bit on status conditions. David thought of going in, but he had already learnt everything he could from books and TV as he wanted to be prepared when he starts his journey. Another place to visit was the well-known and useful battle club and last but not least the Gym which was David's first destination after he would leave the Pokemon center. When David got in front of the center at the same time, from the opposite direction, a known face made its appearance.

"Hi Clair! Fancy meeting you here" said David trying to be polite, but knew that her answer wasn't going to be the same.

"So you finally made it. How are you doing so far?"she replied trying to act tough.

"It's been good, made a new friend and we're getting stronger by the day."

"Good to know, I wouldn't want my rival to be weak and easily defeated."

"Wow I'm amazed not a single sentence that would mock me." He thought to himself.

"But you're not far from that state, you still haven't got a badge yet."

"…..It was too good to be true."

"I just got mine. It was very hard but in the end we managed to win." The girl said smiling with her rosy cheeks while showing David her badge.

"Great job. Sorry i have to leave but I have to heal my pokemon."

"You're not getting rid of me that easily, I'm here to heal my pokemon as well." The girl giggled.

The two rivals entered the center and went straight for the counter giving Nurse Joy each two pokeballs. The two went and sat at a table to wait for their pokemon. None of them said a word. David was gazing outside while, strangely, Clair was gazing at David. He turned his head towards the girl and Clair quickly looked to the left so he couldn't tell she had looked at him.

"How hard was the gym?" he asked with a serious tone.

"Well, all I can say was that it took all our wisdom and strength to win."

"Ok." He replied and went back at looking outside.

"Are you doubting yourself?"

"No not at all, I have full confidence in my pokemon, but I wouldn't want to go there unprepared and have my pokemon go through a hard time."

Clair got up and walked next to David and bent and whispered in his ear You're prepared. I can tell. There's something about you that feels stronger."

David couldn't believe his ears. Clair had just complimented him. And moreover he was blushing a bit. It was stranger for the girl to act this way, it was true that he knew her for only a year but she always looked down on him for no reason. The girl was a bit different two, maybe this journey was for the better of both.

"Thanks Clair. Look, our pokemon are back." Pointing towards Nurse Joy which was coming towards them with their pokemon.

"Thank you mam."The two said as they got their pokeballs.

"Clair I'm heading for the Gym. See you soon"

David exited the building but as soon as he made a few steps Clair shouted at David to stop.

"David wait….I have to tell you something."

"Ok. What's the problem?"

"Well it's almost night."

"I know but Gyms are still opened at this hour. It's only 9 pm."

"No that's not it. Tonight, the gym leaders are holding a ball at their gym and the theme is "couples". "

"Well I don't think it would hurt to see if I can still have a battle." David smiled with and optimistic face.

Clair stuck with David and showed him the way to the gym. A scarlet carpet went from the door to the street and flower decorations were surrounding the place and the entrance to the gym. At the entrance a handsome man with red hair was welcoming the guests. Clair and David walked up to him but before David could say anything the man started talking.

"Are you fired up as well as me about this event?"

"Speaking of that….."

"Say no more, we're prepared for this type of situations. You and your girlfriend come with me and we'll get you dressed." The man said as he grabbed both David and Claire and carried them inside and then to a big room that was filled with tons of dresses and tuxedos.

"Giiiiirlfriend!?!?!?!"

"Me with…?!?!"

But it was too late they were already in the dressing room.

"You got me wrong."

"Don't worry they were brought for this occasion. The dressers are in the right and there on the left there is a place where you can leave your stuff. I'll be leaving….see you inside."

"Maybe i should have waited until morning!" turning towards Clair.

"You think? Now we've been dragged into this."As she was looking at some dresses.

"Sorry but I didn't ask you to come with me and as I can see you' kind of like the idea of changing into a dress."

The girl blushed. "Well we have to as we won't get out of here."

"Then I guess I'll have to pick something to wear two."

After about half an hour David was almost ready. It took both him and Clair to find something they like so they could wear. David had a black tuxedo and picked a blue tie that matched his eyes. He was looking in the mirror and trying to get his tie to look straight when Clair came out of her changing room and called David. David turned and dropped the tie as he was stunned by the girl's beauty. She was wearing beautiful blue dress that had a ribbon that was tied at her back into a little ribbon. The same type of ribbons were tied at her ponytails. She was gorgeous.

"So how does your so called girlfriend look?"the girl said with a soft voice as she got his tie from the floor and started putting his tie around his neck.

"You're beautiful." David said with a down tone as his cheeks were getting as red as a rose.

"You look handsome too."She said turning red also as she finished helping David with his tie.

"Shall we go?"

"Just a moment." Pulling something behind his back. "I think this would look much better on your wrist that sitting here" he said as he put a corsage that had a red rose around Clair's hand.

"T-Thank you."

The two exited and they were encountered by another man this time with blue hair. The man told them that they were a cute couple but before David could disaffirm the statement they were again dragged to a table.

"I shall bring you some refreshments right away." And with that he left.

"Is there anyone here that won't spend with us less than a minute or two so I can as for the gym leader?" David said putting his hand over his forehead.

"Well you just met two of them."

"What?"

"Yup. This gym has three gym leaders. The first one you meet was at the main entrance…the red haired guy… his name is Chili. The second one was the one with blue hair that went to bring us some refreshments…his name is Cress. Ant the last one is..... * the girl was saying scouting the room" THERE at the end of the dance floor , he's Cilan. He was my opponent."

"Wow so there are three gym leaders. Guess the only one left to talk is Cilan."

"Looks like it, but good luck passing the dancing couples without making a ….." Looking at the dance floor.

But before she could end her sentence David took her hand and asked her for a dance. The girl blushed a little and rose and went on the dance floor. David grabbed her by the waist with one hand and her hand with the other and started to waltz and drifting into the dance floor guided by the refined music.

"So it seems that you're not just good looks and can dance as well."She teased him

"Well I don't think you would have wanted me to step on your dress."

"Ok now let's make our way to Cilan."

The pair danced their way straight to Cilan which was at the end of the dance floor talking with a girl. When they ended their conversation David and Clair broke up and went at him.

"Cilan I want to challenge the gym."

"Oh my, it seems that you want to add a little spice tour evening. I accept but only if accept to being a public battle."

"It's fine with me." David said with a determined look.

"Ladies and gentleman this boy here has agreed to adding a nice ingredient to our evening and we'll have a gym battle as a main event to our ball. I kindly ask the dancers to go to their sets so that we can start out battle."Then Cilan turned to David.

"I would ask your loved one to go to your table."

"Ummm she's not my girlfriend just a…..* and then Clair looked down expecting David to name her as her rival again and nothing more"….. friend.

The girl's face lit up and whispered to David: "You're the first one to call me that… but you're still my rival so don't lose the battle." And then grabbed her dress and walked to the table and sat down waiting for the challenge to start.

"Well usually you'd have the choice to pick between me and my brother but I can't see them anywhere so I guess I'll be your opponent."He said as he walked at the back of the room.

"It's fine with me."

Just as David finished his sentence Cilan pushed a button in the wall and the dance floor went down and up was raised a battlefield for them. It was a simple one with a few rocks here and there as some obstacles. The crowd, sitting at their tables were anxious to see the battle.

First Round

"So challenger let's begin our battle and start our delicacy."As he threw a pokeball in the air.

Out came a little puppy pokemon that was on guard and was looking straight at David. The boy pulled out his pokedex and looked up the pokermon:

"Lillipup, the Puppy Pokémon. The long hair covering Lillipup's face is an excellent radar, which senses conditions in the surrounding area."

"Let's get this thing started. Pyro come out." He said pushing the button on Pyro's pokeball.

"Interesting choice. Well you being the challenger grants you the first move."

"Then Pyro let's march in a straight Tackle." The pokemon quickly dash forward and was heading for Lillipup. Just as he was about to hit him Lillipup dashed behind him. Pyro looked right and left as he got confused to where the pup had disappeared.

"Now show him how a Tackle is performed." And with those words Lillipup hit Pyro and launched him into the wall behind Cilan.

Work Up while he's still down. So challenger how will you respond to that?"

"With another Tackle…full force Pyro."

Cilan looked behind him and saw that Tepig was missing, it was just behind Lillipup running to hit him. Pyro knocked the glowing red pup which flew into a nearby rock.

"So I see your pokemon has speed too, well done, but let's see how you handle this. Lillipup use Bite on Tepig."Lillipup got up and quickly bit Pyro's tail. The fire pokemon started running chaotic in every direction due to the pain.

"Pyro calm down and ram the pup into everything with your tail." The fire pig tried to endure the pain and as David told him smashed Lillipup into the ground smashing left and right like a hammer. "Now throw him in the air and use Ember." Pyro spinned a little with the pup hanging tight on his tail and then threw it towards the ceiling then launched a fiery Ember attack keeping Lillipup stuck to the ceiling for a while being hit continuous by the sparks of fire.

The crowd was enjoying every moment, they couldn't have hoped for a better way to spend their night a pleasant ball with a fierce battle. Everybody was on the edge of their seat, Clair also, she was very nervous and couldn't predict the outcome of the battle. Her only thing to do remained to believe that her rival was good enough.
Meanwhile both trainers launched a Tackle attack which sent the pokemon flying back at their trainers feet. The thing was that Lillipup as told to launch another tackle as quick as possible and just when Pyro got up it got hit again. David knew that he had to somehow out speed Lillipup and he had the perfect strategy.

"Now Pyro let's turn on the heath…use Flame Charge" Pyro got engulfed by flames as he started running towards the Lillipup which was again told to counter with a Tackle. The two pokemon clashed and flew back a few feet away on their feet. David's plan was going along perfectly and it was time to add a little bonus again.

"Use Flame Charge again"

"That move again…what are you hoping for? Tackle Lillipup!"

"Look who's talking? The one who spammed Tackle four times now." Clair giggled a bit only for her to hear so that she wouldn't disturb the crowd, but she wasn't the only one who laughed as some had giggled also at David's remark.

The two pokemon were heading for each other and just before they would collide, Tepig disappeared just in front of the pup and came ramming from the back hitting the pup and scorching it a bit.

"Oh nice touch in using Flame's Charge secondary effect, but you can't win this battle only with speed bonuses."

"Well you gave me the idea when you used Work Up and I know but for now it was enough to outsmart you."

"Lillipup get up and use Bite."

"Pyro counter it with a Tackle."

Lillipup was dashing towards Pyro preparing its teeth for the attack. But just as they were about to hit David too Pyro to switch from Tackle to Flame charge. The pup was sent back due to the burning flames force while Pyro was sitting happily on the ground with no worries.

"Nice trick. It was a smart move on your end but it's time to finish this. Lillipup Tackle with all your might."

"Couldn't have agreed more. Pyro are you ready?"

"Tepiggg." The little pokemon cried confident.

"Ok now let's show Cilan your new move. EMBER TAIL!!!"

Cilan was surprised by the name as he didn't know any attack like that. The two pokemon were charging at each other with full speed. But Cilan as well as Clair and the other couldn't see anything different at Pyro that a normal Tackle but just as Lillipup got closer Pyro jumped in the air and curled it Tail in front and launched a powerful Ember on it putting it on fire. Then it dive down and smashed its tail on Lillipup which responded with a Tackle. The two pokemon clashed on the ground lifting up a cloud of dust. Everybody was wondering who had one this round and were waiting anxiously for the dust to clear. The dust finally cleared and the referee announced the draw. Both pokemon were unconscious on the ground. David went to see how Pyro was doing. The pokemon opened its eyes as David took it in his arms.

"Good job pal…you were great out there." Smiling at Pyro.

"Tepig!" the pokemon cried back at his trainer with joy.

Second Round

"Good job but this was just the appetizer, her comes the main course."Cilan said while calling back Lillipup and then launching another pokeball in the air. Out came a little green monkey. David took his pokedex again and scanned the pokemon:

"Pansage, the Grass Monkey Pokémon. Pansage offers leaves on its head to Pokémon that have low energy. The leaves relieve stress."

Then David put his Pokedex away and called back Pyro. "Clover you're up." He said as he launched his pokeball and called out his starter.

"An interesting flavor you got there….let's see how well it will do to our recipe. Pansage use Fury Swipes on that Sewaddle."The monkey started jumping from rock to rock approaching Clover but as it leaped with its hands pointing at Clover David told it to use String Shot to evade. The bug pokemon shot the silky web straight at the ceiling at pulled itself out of the dangerous spot.

"Well done but not enough….Pansage use your attack on the web."Pansage jumped high above Clover and cut its web which made Clover fall to the ground hitting her hard.

"Clover get up, quickly!!" David shouted as Cilan ordered Pansage to use Vine Whip but before Clover could get up she got pummeled to the ground by the whips.

"Clover stick its whips to the ground." Clover used it's silky web just as the whips were about to hit her and stuck the to the ground. The David told it to use them to crawl up to Pansage which was sitting on a rock and use Bug Bite. Clover quickly went up towards Pansage and started chomping on its arm.

"Pansage use Scratch to get yourself free."The grass monkey used its other arm to scratch Clover and knock it off of its arm. The atmosphere was tense as Clover was going down, then the silence was pierced by David's shout at Clover to use Razor Leaf on Pansage. The rotating leafs were heading towards Pansage but Cilan was an expert in grass types so he told Pansage to use its Vine Whips to knock the leaves down one by one. Clover landed down on the ground and was showered by the leaves that Pansage knocked down.

"Now Pansage use your vines to capture Clover."Pansage came down from its rock and used its vines to bind Clover leaving only its head free."There is no need for your pokemon to endure more, you should give up."

"Sewaddle!!!!" the pokemon cried to David letting him know that she was willing to continue to the end.

"Clover is right, we worked too hard to give up now!"

"If that's your choice that let's continue…..Pansage use Lick."The monkey pulled Clover over to him and wanted to lick it but just as it was about to David told Clover to use Bug Bite and grab its tongue. The monkey cried in pain as Clover broke free from Pansage's grip but was holding tight on his tongue. The crowd was on their feet, they didn't imagine such a comeback for David. They were delighted by the two and how their battle techniques were displayed in front of their eyes.

"Now Clover throw him up in the sky." Clover tossed him upwards smashing him to the ceiling. The monkey pokemon was falling down but David told Clover to use Razor Leaf and hit the monkey hard again and smash it again to the ceiling. The monkey fell down, but with a tremendous effort got back up and was keen on going on.

"Seems that you made Pansage want to battle as hard as he could against you. You have my respect and so I'll honor Pansage's wish."

"I'm glad that you're enjoying the battle. Clover follow up with another Razor Leaf."

"Pansage counter with Fury Swipes." Pansage hit the leaves one by one knocking them down as they came getting closer and closer to Clover." Now Pansage use Vine Whip and finish him." Clover went flying at David feet but as Pansage did, she got up and dusted off the sand and looked at David.

"I understand pal, I think it's time too. OK LET'S DO THIS!!!!! Clover use String Shot then follow up with Tackle. " Clover move quickly before Cilan could give a command and caught Pansage in its web and immediately tackled the immobilized pokemon.

"Nice work….you used my own strategy against me but that won't be enough to defeat me. Pansage use Fury Swipes to get free and then attack Clover."The monkey cut the web and started running towards Clover.

"Cilan?"

"Yes?"

"I never said that my plan was over. That was just to get Pansage further so that this would work. Ok Clover let's show them what intensive training can come up with …. Leaf Shot." Clover started forming a silky ball at its mouth but before it was ready Clover use Razor Leaf and only after launched the silky ball. The ball was gaining speed and reached the flying leaves. The wind from both attacks collided and the leafs started spinning around the ball. The crowd was amazed, Claire being the most amazed of all, a comet made of silk and leaves had formed before their eyes. The comet hit Pansage dead on and knocked it into Cilan's arms where it fainted.

"The winner of the Striaton Gym challenge……is David from Nuvema Town. " both Chili and Cress shouted." The crowd burst into cheers as two men came down from the audience.

"Since when have you been here?"

"Since the first half of the first round."

"It wasn't hard to notice the event."

"Well Cilan you took the hit this time."

"And I'm glad I did. David you're a great trainer, if you keep going on this path you'll maybe become the most powerful trainer in this region. With that said I present you with your Trio Badge and as this is your first badge take this too. It's a badge case in which you'll put all of your eight badges."

"Thanks. You really gave me a run for my money there."

"Nicely done David. So that's what you were doing at the battle club."

"Well a little training never hurt everyone." David smiled. " I have to thank both Clover and Pyro for their effort. Speaking of them I should go to the pokemon center."

"Don't worry we have a built in healing point so I'll take your pokemon while you enjoy your evening."

"Indeed we wouldn't want out winner to leave the party so soon."

And with that said Cress took David's pokemon and went to heal them. David wanted to make his way towards his table where Clair was waiting for him but he got caught in the crowd of girls that formed around him and were asking David for a dance. Out of nowhere a hand took David's hand and pulled him through the wall of girls.

"Sorry ladies but as Chili and Cress said…..he's with me."Clair said as they went to the dance floor.

"Thanks for saving me."

"Your welcome. But don't get any ideas……it was just because you needed help and nothing more."

"I know, I know."

The night went on and the ball was a blast. The three gym leaders presented a show in which they made some acrobatic stunts with their pokemon and many other things. David and Clair had fun and looked like they were getting along, Claire was a bit confusing for David, sometimes she would act though while sometimes she was delicate as Purrloin. For now David was glad that she was enjoying the night and as his mother said…..only time will strengthen the bonds between pokemon and people……..

Pyro the Tepig grew to level 17 and wants to evolve into Pignite do you want to allow it? If yes do you want Pyro to learn Arm thrust?
Clover the Sewaddle grew to level 20 and wants to evolve into Swadloon do you want to allow it? If yes do you want Clover to learn Protect?
