Chapter 1 - part 2
"The burst of a rival"

The two reunited friends were as happy as ever. Clover was sitting on David's shoulder enjoying the view as they made their way through the town. David was still amazed by the fact that the met so early in his journey and moreover, that Clover was his first pokemon. Somehow fate brought them together. David knew that this journey will be full of surprises but his started out right at the beginning, but he was glad that his friend was with him.

"Hey David you're late!"

David looked to the right and saw a girl sitting on a bench looking at him with a bit of snub attitude. He knew the girl, she was a nearby neighbor which always looked down to David. He couldn't explain why, he never did anything bad to her, maybe she just liked to do as so. The girl was named Clair.

"Hey Clair!" somehow trying to stop his urge to just ignore her.

"So I see you got your first pokemon…..he's kind of weak at first sight."

"Quick to think as ever….you always judge a book….oh never mind you've always been like this. And why am I late?"

"Cause all of the other trainers have already started their journey."

"Is that so? And if I'm late and you are in the same spot as I am, that would mean that you are also late." David inquired looking at Clover and petting it on the head.

"Ummmmm nope. That means……..that I wanted to have my first battle against you."

"Riiiiiight." He said rolling his eyes over.

"Well if a battle you want, a battle you'll get. Ready Clover for your first battle?"

"Seeewaddle!!!" Clover cried as he jumped on the ground ready to begin.

"Your pokemon is a little too confident for its strength. Darumaka come out and burn them to a crisp."

David pulled out his Pokedex and pointed it at Darumaka:

Darumaka, the Zen Charm Pokémon. When asleep, even when pushed or pulled, it cannot be knocked over.​

"Hmm interesting. Ladies first so make your move."

"Cut off with the gentleman talk , but if you insist…..Darumaka use Tackle."

Darumaka started running towards Clover but the bug pokemon was told to evade and because of its good speed it managed to escape the rampaging pokemon.

"Looks like you missed we won't do the same. Clover use String Shot and then Tackle."

Clover started spitting out a thick silky web and covered Darumaka all over stopping him from moving. Then it ran and hit Darumaka knocking it to the ground. Clair like the strategy: first immobilizing your opponent and then hitting it. But she would never tell that to David , her pride wouldn't let her.

"Lucky shot. Darumaka break free using Rollout and chase Sewaddle."

Darumaka borke free form the web and started rolling around gaining more speed as it rolled , then it started going after Clover and managed to hit it even if it tried to evade. Clover was sent flying onto the bench.

"Clover are you ok?"

"Sewaddle" the pokemon shouted as it got up, assuring David that it was ok.

"Darumaka hit him again."

"Clover use String Shot on him again."

Clover used String Shot on the rolling pokemon but because of the great speed the web just shattered into pieces.

"Clover dodge then."

The pokemon used its String Shot to get hold of a nearby branch and pull itself just in time. Darumaka then turned and went for the tree smashing into it trying to make Sewaddle fall but it was firmly attached to the tree due to its legs.

"Use String Shot on the battle field."

Clover started spraying its silky web all over the ground giving it a shade of silver. Clover knew what David was up to so it tried to get as much area filled with web as it could.

"Now jump down and let him come."

When Darumaka saw that Clover was on the ground it turned and went straight for him , but as he went his speed started to fade , the web was steadily attaching to him until he was again immobilized.

"Stuck again are we?! Clover use Bug Bite."

Clair was filled with anger for falling for the same trick twice. She had to find a way to get the nasty bug of Darumaka and stop him from chomping on it.

"Darumaka use Incinerate all over the place."

Darumaka knocked Clover of off him and scorched it a bit , also doing the same with the silk on the ground. Clair had a clear advantage being a fire type but this wasn't enough to stop David and Clover.

"Did you really think that a bug/grass type would have a chance against a fire type like Darumaka?"

"Type advantage doesn't matter and we'll prove it right Clover?" looking at the bug pokemon with a confident look.

"Sewaddle!" the pokemon said as he shared the same feeling as its trainer.

"You two are a bunch of fools. Darumaka use Flame Wheel."

"Clover use Air Slash."

The two pokemon ran towards each other and their attacks collided. A pile of dust surrounded the battlefield, filling the two trainers with curiosity of what had happened. Then a gust came blowing the dust and revealing the two pokemon.

"You did it Clover!! You won!!!.I knew you could do it!!" David said as he ran and took Clover in his arms and started spinning with joy.

"Darumaka come back." Clair said pointing its pokeball to the fainted pokemon.

"Well looks like this one is yours but be prepared , I'm going to get better and someday become the Unova League Champion."

"Then that means we'll meet again as I intend to do the same."

Clair had somehow lost her cocky attitude after the battle but that didn't last long cause after a minute or two she said farewell and of course reminded David that he is still way behind the others."

"She's tough I'll say that, she'll be a worthy rival." He said to Clover waving *mostly just to be polite* at Clair that was already at the edge of the town.

"Well it's time for us to leave as well."

And with that said David , with Clover on his back, started walking looking around at the town where he spent his childhood, remembering all the fun stuff he had done. When he reached route one he looked one more time at the town and then turned around and started walking onto route one.

Chapter 2 - part 1
"Blazing into Route 1"

The route was filled with tons of trees making it seem like this was the start of a forest. The weather was nice and the wind was blowing softly through the leafs of the trees. You could see petals being picked up and blown away into the blue sky. Clover was in front of David crawling joyfully , looking form time to time at David to see if he was keeping the pace.

"I'll race you until the end of the route."

Clover started running and closed its eyes trying to get momentum. Then it felt as light as a bird and felt like it was flying. It opened its eyes and saw that it was above David's head, being carried as he ran.

"You were a bit lazy so I thought you needed a lift." David said

"Sewaddle." The pokemon shouted and started spitting web and clinging to some branches in front of him and swinging from tree to tree.

"Clever!" David said smiling towards Clover

David started running faster to catch up to Clover not letting her out of his sight. Clover was enjoying her and was as happy as it could in front of David. They were at the middle of the route, they would soon reach the first town. As David was running he saw a man napping under a tree , but what he didn't see was that the man had one eye opened and was looking at the two travelers as the ran past him. David was just about to pass Clover that was above him when he tripped and fell. Clover saw the whole thing and came down and after David brushed himself both of the started laughing. After that David turned to see on what he tripped, in front of him there was a little red pig like pokemon that was looking curiously at David. David pulled out his pokedex and searched for the pokemon:

Tepig, the Fire Pig Pokémon. Normally, fire shoots out of Tepig's snout, but it shoots out smoke instead when it is feeling ill.​

"Wow a fire type. What do you say Sewaddle of making a new friend."

"Sewaddle" the pokemonc tried and went in front of David ready for battle.

"Tep..Tepig." the pokemon cried agreeing to the battle.

Tepig looked like it wanted David to catch him but not without a fight. It was a bit strange but somehow Tepig liked David just from the fact that he looked into his eyes earlier but Tepig wanted to be sure if David was worthy of him. Tepig started of waging its tail in front of Clover making it smile and lowering its guard. Then it launched a powerful ember knocking Clover and smashing him into a nearby tree. Clover got up and got serious, he fell for it but it won't happened twice. Tepig started running and wanted to hit Clover.

"Clover lift yourself using the branch above you." David shouted as Tepig was getting closer to Clover.

The bug pokemon evaded the attack and now was sitting nicely in the tree looking at Tepig that just smashed at the foot of the tree.

"Now jump and use Tackle." and with that said Clover jumped and landed on Tepig.

After that Clover went near David and waited anxiously. Tepig got on his feet and started marching towards Clover.

"Clover Air Slash."

Clover used Air Slash on Tepig and sent it flying in the air. David quickly pulled a Pokeball from his belt and threw it at Tepig. The fire pokemon was sucked into the Pokeball which landed on the ground and started shaking……

But Tepig escaped from the pokeball ready for round 2 and shot at Sewaddle with a powerful ember attack.

Chapter 2 - part 2
"Blazing into Route 1"

Tepig was giving David a run for his money, it wouldn't let to be caught so easily. It still had some fighting in him. The Ember he sent hit Clover and sent her flying into David. David caught Clover and then petted her , wanting to know if she was ok. Clover nodded her head in sign that she was willing to continue. The atmosphere was getting tense and the two pokemon were looking at each other calmly waiting for the others movement. Then Tepig broke the silence and started running towards Clover.

"Clover you use Tackle as well." He said as soon as he saw Tepig moving.

The two pokemon collided knocking them both a few steps back. They continued to hit each other and retreating a bit to get some space for their moves. After two minutes both of the pokemon were breathing heavily due to being a bit tired.

"Now Clover use Bug Bite."

Clover jumped onto Tepig's tail and bit the hell out of him and kept doing so. Tepig was rampaging the whole area shaking its tail trying to get Clover of off him. It was like seeing a wild horse trying to be tamed by its owner. Tepig ran at a nearby tree and started hitting the tree with its tail until , finally, Clover lost its grip on Tepig and fell. Tepig was just at the tip of the tree's roots facing towards Clover that was now in front of David. It started running again trying to use Tackle.

"Use String Shot and bind him." David shouted.

Clover ran towards Tepig and started spitting the silky web and sent Tepig flying into the tree and sticking him onto it. Tepig was a sitting duck , it tried to get free but it had no luck , the strings were to tight around him.

"Now use Air Slash on him." David shouted.

The bug pokemon jumped in the air and unleashed its attack hitting Tepig hard and also shattering the web that was binding him. Tepig fell on the ground and got covered in dust. It got up and shake the dust of off him and then blew some ashes from its nose. It was digging in the ground with its foot as it was releasing more ashes. Then it used Ember and started moving towards Clover. Clover was being hit by the sparks of fire but through the fiery attack Tepig came like a bullet and hit him sending the bug pokemon a few meter back onto the ground.

"Clover I know you can do it, I have faith in you."

"Sewaddle!!" the bug pokemon cried as it got up at the sound of David's voice.

Clover was burning with the desire to repay Tepig. The wind started to blow strongly but the pokemon and David didn't notice as they were to caught by the battle. Tepig unleashed another Ember towards Clover.

"Use String Shot to make a wall in front of you."

Strings of silky web started flying in the air as Clover was aiming at the two trees on the left and right of her. In a matter of second a silky white wall was shielding Clover. The sparks of fire were hitting the wall burning in down little by little but just as the wall burned down the fire attacks ended as well. David was glad that his plan worked and that Clover was safe. Tepig started running again towards Clover.

"Ok Clover let's take this to a new level. Make a thick string of web and attach them to the two trees you used earlier."

Clover did as it was told and made what looked like a bit rubber band. When Tepig discovered what David had planed it was too late, it couldn't stop in its tracks and hit the rubber band and was sent flying in the opposite direction just like a rock in a slingshot. Tepig hit the tree and slided down unconscious. David gave it another shot and sent another Pokeball at Tepig. The ball captured the pokemon in it and was shaking on the ground , it was shaking just like David was shaking in hope that he would catch Tepig….

Ashley walked up to the Lab. She had only just arrived in Nuvema Town, she was a bit scared. Her Minccino ran through the doors. Ashley followed. She saw the Professors smiling face, and walked up to her.
"Need a Pokedex?" asked the woman.
"Yes...please.." replied Ashley. She took the Pokedex, and the kind woman gave her some pokeballs, as well. Since she was starting her journey, she decided to give her Minccino a name. She thought a while, then found the perfect name.
'Cino.'
She told her Minccino, and it approvingly nodded.

"Alright, Cino, lets go look around this place!" said Ashley.
They ran past all the trees, and saw a few Patrat walking about.

Chapter 1: Back on track

It was an important day in the bustling Striaton City, as today the graduates from the trainer's school were traveling to Nuvema Town to begin their journeys. Travis was a drop-out, but he promised his parents he would become a trainer, so he was going to go with them. It had been four years since he gave up on being a trainer, but this time he was ready to do things right.

His alarm clock blared, the unpleasant beep filling his ears as he lay in bed. He covered his ears with his pillow and dove under the covers, but nothing could stop the deafening sound. Unable to take it anymore, he decided to get up, shutting off his clock. Travis got dressed and grabbed massive backpack where he kept the items he had collected over his entire life, locking it tightly. He was all set to leave, but before heading out, he grabbed his clock and tossed it in the trash. He bought it the night before at the market, thinking it would be useful, but it only proved to be a nuisance. He stepped out the door, saying goodbye to the place he had lived since he arrived in the city. He had been renting a room from an elderly couple, supported by money sent from his parents, but he had to say his farewells now. After making sure he had the necessary supplies, he left, taking his first steps on the road to Nuvema.

It took a little while, but Travis finally made it to the town. It was a small rural place, but one building stood out. Knowing it was obviously the lab, he entered, seeing many new trainers already there. He waited until the lab was less crowded, then headed toward the professor. She looked at him with a smile and said, "Good morning, I'm sure you're here for your first pokemon." He only nodded. "You're one of the more quiet ones I've had today. What's your name?"

"Travis Crofton," he replied as she led him to where he would pick his starter. He saw the pokeballs laid out on the table, each marked with a pokemon's name.

Professor Juniper took one of the balls from the table, handing it to him, along with a pokedex and 5 pokeballs. "I think this will make a good companion for a quiet kid like you. This pokemon is-"

"I want that one," Travis interrupted, rejecting the pokemon she gave him and instead pointing to the ball marked "Lillipup". He thought if he was going to be a trainer, he might as well start with something he was familiar with. She looked slightly shocked, but continued professionally, handing him the ball and returning the one she gave him initially.

"Alright then, do you need me to explain how the pokedex works," she asked. He shook his head. "I'm sure you'll be a great trainer, but you have some tough competition. Just don't give up and you'll do fine, got it?"

"Yes, thank you," he replied, leaving the lab. Once outside, he sent out his new Lillipup. It looked up at him, eyes wide open. He didn't want to keep it in it's pokeball, as it would be a pain to keep track of. On that thought, he headed to a nearby trash can and threw the other 5 pokeballs that were given to him away. He wanted to have as little to deal with as possible. "Come on now, Lillipup," he told it, not bothering to give it a name. The pup was loyal and obeyed, following him. He decided there wasn't much else to do in this town, and headed for route 1. Travis instantly came back, and returned to the trash, digging out three of his discarded pokeballs. They might prove to be useful, he thought, continuing on his way to route 1 with his Lillipup not far behind.

The Patrat stopped and started running away from the Lillipup, it seemed as if they were playing a game. Then, a blonde head poked out of the bushes. The blonde girl, who was quite tall, ran up to Ashley and Smirked.
"Um, hi. Who are you?" asked Ashley,
"Melissa." she said. She looked at Cino. "Nice Pokemon you got there. You a new trainer? don't worry, me too."
"I'm Ashley. Yes, I am a new trainer. What pokemon you got?"
"Oh, Lillipup." she replied, as she sent out her Lillipup. "I call it Lili."
"Lillii!" said the doglike pokemon.
"Well, since we're friends..wanna be rivals?" said Melissa
"Sure, okay."
"So that's that. Seeya later then." and she left.
"Hmm, what should I do...maybe go a bit further down route 1, see some more pokemon? I don't know..." she asked Cino.

Route 2​

Route 2 is the second route in Unova. It is connected to Accumula Town in the southeast and Striaton City in the north. This is much like Route 1 full of lush tress and grass all over.​

Things to do in Route 2
-> Battle/Catch wild Pokemon

This route is entirely optional but is a chance for you to train your pokemon before reaching Striaton City. You also have the option of battling trainers and even your rival if you want to.

Striaton City​

Striaton City is home to the Unova Trainer School, as well as the first Gym on your Pokemon Journey. It is also noteworthy as being the home of Fennel, Professor Juniper's friend, who conducts her research into the Dream World here. Nearby is the mysterious, abandoned Dreamyard.​

Things to do in Striation Town:
-> Visit the Pokemon Center

Your Pokemon have probably had a rough battle in the last few previous posts, so they're probably feeling quite rough. In this case, it would be ideal to heal up your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center so that they will be prepared to face whatever challenge may come up in the close future. It shouldn't take too long for you to get your Pokemon healed up, either.

-> Visit the PokeMart

Stocking up on items for your journey will be a really big assistance for yourself, whether it's Poke Balls, Potions, Antidotes or anything. Each item will have a different effect, and will therefore provide a big help to your character when faced with a problem, such as paralysis. Therefore, think of what could happen in your future posts and purchase some items to help you out.
(Items you buy will be shown on your Character Profile on the OOC thread)

-> Visit the Battle Club

Once again Battle Club remember there will be one in every town. Inside the Battle Club, you will be matched up with another opponent with the same amount of Pokemon as you, and then you both will have a battle as normal, the winner is the winner, your Pokemon levels, blah blah blah. I'm sure it's all simple.

-> Meet New People

Meeting new people is a huge part of your journey, and can provide you with many oppurtunies to give your plot a twist. These people could be nice and caring, like a new friend to you, or they could just be arrogant and cocky, which could heat up a battle. It's all up to you, but the more interesting you make these people, the better your story will be.​

-> Go to the Trainer School

A Pokémon academy is a school where students and Trainers can learn more about Pokémon. Most beginning Trainers visit at least one of them, and common Trainers who study extensively at these locations are Lasses, School Kids, and Scientists. The blackboard at the back of the school details the five non-volatile status ailments. Go here maybe for a battle or whatever......

-> Try and win you First Badge at the Striation City Gym

Difficulty Rating-> Medium-This means that the battle should be more difficult than any you have had so far. So i expect at least one of your pokemon to get knocked out at least XD

Chapter 2 - part 3
"Double battle....double trouble"

The Pokeball finally stopped from moving and Tepig was caught. David burst into cheers alongside Clover , this was his first pokemon caught in the wild. He went and picked up the Pokeball and got down next to Clover showing him the Pokeball in which was ling their new friend. David was just about to call Tepig out when and old man stopped him.

"Just one moment youngster." And old man yelled at David from a few steps further.

"Yeeees?!?" David replied with doubt.

"I have been looking for that Tepig for five days long and now you come and catch him. That Tepig is rightfully mine so hand it over."

"Sir I caught this pokemon fair and square and moreover it challenged me to a battle."

"It doesn't matter I saw it first a few days ago so it should be mine. Pidove come out and take that Pokeball from his hand." The man said as he threw a Pokeball in the air.

A pigeon like pokemon came out and flew towards David and grabbed the Pokeball by one side with its feet but David wouldn't let go so easily. David and Pidove were pulling the Pokeball from one side as hard as they could not even one budging even one bit. Pidove started pecking on David in hope that he would lose grip of the ball , but when Clover saw that David was being hurt it Shot a pile of silk on the birds beak and tied it up. As the two were struggling over the Pokeball they pulled so hard that the Pokeball flew up high and went flying deep into the forest.

"Happy now? You lost it?" the old man shouted at David

"Why you……." David was filled with anger.

But it wasn't worth it to talk back the old geezer so David left him and started searching for his Pokeball. David told Clover to swing from branch to branch so it can have a better view of the area. The old man did the same but instead of going himself along with his pokemon he called out another Pidove and told them to find the Pokeball while he went and sat at the foot of a tree. David was looking carefully in every corner of the forest hoping that he would find his Pokeball before the old man. As he was searching he saw the two Pidove flying above him and splitting up. Just as the Pidove flew away Clover came at David and started shouting.

"Have you found it?"

"Sewaddle" the pokemon affirmed with a smile.

David followed Clover deep into the forest until they reached an old oak tree. At the middle of it, on a branch something was shining brightly. David put his hand above his eyes and tried to see what the thing was and to his surprise it was his Pokeball. David told clover to climb up there and get his Pokeball. The bug pokemon did as it was told and in a matter of minutes she was facing the ball , but just as it pushed the Pokeball down one of the old man's Pidove came and pushed Clover as well while the other was aiming to catch the Pokeball. David now was faced with the fact of saving Clover from falling or catching Tepig's Pokeball before Pidove. Clover dived into David's arms with its eyes closed as it panicked when she was pushed over.

"You're ok now. I've got you."

"Sewaddle." The little bug pokemon said smiling at the sight of David's face.

"Let's get Tepig back."

The two Pidove were now flying towards their trainer , one of them holding the Pokeball, but David was on their trail running as fast as he could to catch up to the Pidove. Just as the Pidove exited the forest and were back on the path that led to the next town the man got up for his deep sleep and lifted his hand and waited for the Pidove to come to him and give him the Pokeball,. But just as the Pidove released the Pokeball David and Clover got out of the forest and clover used String Shot and took the Pokeball just as it was at the tip of the old man's hand.

"Right back where it should be."

"Give it to me this instant you little brat."

"I'll tell you once more this is MY POKEMON. Go catch one on your own , not steal from other and stop acting like a child who doesn't get what he wants. For God's sake you're an old man." David said fed up with the man's attitude.

"Why don't we settle this with a double battle. The winners takes the pokeball."

"Even if this is my pokeball. I'll shut your mouth once and for all. Tepig come out." He said as he pushed the button on the pokeball.

"Who said you could use him?"

"Well he is my pokemon.... so I can." David replied , Clover showing the man her tongue.

"Tep…Tepig."

The pig pokemon was glad to see David and went at his foot and started wagging its tail. David got down and petted both Clover and Tepig.

"How does Pyro sound as a nickname for you?" the boy said looking at Tepig.

"Tepiiig!!!." The pokemon cried in approval.

"Don't bother as it will soon be mine. Pidove let's get this started." He said to the two Pidove next to him.

"Clover, Pyro let's finish this quick. Clover use String Shot , Pyro use Ember."

The two attacks were flying towards the tow bird pokemon. The old man told the two Pidove two use Gust to blow away the attack and with that the sparks of fire and the pile of silk were sent into oblivion, with a flap of their wings.

" Now use Quick Attack , both of you." He shouted.

The birds burst and were flying at high speed towards the two pokemon. David told them to try and dodge but the two birds were quicker and Clover and Pyro got hit. David had to think fast , any of his long range attacks would end up be blown away , but what if…..

"Clover use String Shot and then you Pyro come behind Clover and use Ember."

Clover immediately ran and towards the two Pidove shooting its silky web at them. The bird Pokemon responded with another pile of Gust and blew away the string but after that Pyro jumped behind Clover's back and used Ember hitting the two Pidove hard.

"Why you……Pidove fly higher and use Air Cutter from there."

"Pyro, Clover run and dodge the attacks."

The two pokemon were running wildly on the ground trying their best to evade the attacks. The Pidove were too high for any attack David's pokemon knew so David had to make the two Pidove come closer or make Clover and Pyro get higher.

"Pyro use Ember on the ground to give you a lift up and you Clover attack to Pyro."

A stream of sparks of fire hit the ground and the force propelled Tepig alongside Clover higher and were heading like a rocket towards Pidove.

"Now both of you use Tackle."

Pidove got hit and fell down on the ground at the feet of their trainer. The old man shouted at them to get up and continue. The two Pidove somehow got up even if they were at their limit.

"That's it. I knew that you were up to it so stop fooling around. Use Leer on both of them."

Pidove started looking at Clover and Pyro with a scary face that made the two pokemon shiver and made them duck into the ground with fear.

"Now use Air cutter and Quick Attack"

"Guys I'm here with you, there is no need to be scared as long as we're together."

David's words were like a soft melody to Clover and made it forget its fear and got up. Pyro was still trebling, who could blame him, it was just recently captured. Meanwhile the two attacks were getting close.

"Clover use String Shot to get on that branch and then pull Pyro too."

In a matter of seconds Clover was up in the tree and was shooting a silky web towards Pyro to grab him. Just as the attacks from the Pidove were about to hit Pyro , Clover pulled him out of danger. As Pyro landed on the branch it regained its courage and was ready to continue. The two Pidove were circling the tree were Clover and Pyro were, waiting for an order, but David wanted to end this so he acted fast.

"Clover jump on one Pidove and you Pyro on the other one."

The two pokemon looked at each other and nodded their head and then both jumped down landing on the back of one Pidove. When they sensed the pokemon on their back the Pidove started flying all over the place trying to get Clover and Pyro off of them. The bird were doing all they could but Clover and Pyro were hanging tight.

"It's just a matter of time until…."

But the man got interrupted by David.

"Until you lose. Clover use Air Slash and you Pyro use Ember."

The two Pidove were hit up close so the damage was even greater. After their attack Clover and Pyro jumped off and landed in front of David, just as the two Pidove fell on the ground and remaining there unconscious.

"Good job guys , you make a good team. Nice first battle Pyro." He said as he was petting Clover and Pyro.

"Sewaddle…Tepig!!!" The two cried.

"How can this have happened?"

"Like this I guess… serves you right for trying to steal my pokemon. Next time try working hard and catch yours, not steal them. Guys get inside your pokeballs to rest until we get to the Pokemon Center in the next town."

And with that said David called back his pokemon and left the man sitting in the middle of the road. It didn't take David that long to reach the end of the route. It was at about dusk when David was facing a sign that had written on it " Acumula Town….Welcome"

Chapter 4 - The First Gym Battle, and Sam's Return

Spoiler:

Sam got out of the Battle Club, quite happy with his victories. He was on a roll, and was quite happy with how his journey was going.

He continued on towards Route 2. He didn't do much there, except encountering a few Lillipup and Patrat.

He reached Striaton City, and straightaway decided to challenge the Gym. He walked over to the entrance, but was blocked by a man.

"Hello there, son. Are you planning to challenge the Gym?" He said.

"Well, yeah." Sam replied.

"Well then you should first come to the Trainer School. You should study there first and-"

"Um, no. I'm strong enough, and I can challenge this Gym." Sam confidently replied.

"You are being overconfident, son. You should-"

"I know what I should do and not do. So, please."

Sam pushed the man aside, and walked in. He saw he was in a restaurant, and thought that the Gym Leaders must be some kind of chefs or something.

He walked on towards the Gym Leader, or Leaders, as he saw it, and challenged them to a battle.

"All right then, Chili, Cress, you ready?" the green haired one, Cilan said to the other Gym Leaders. They all took Sam to a huge room, where they were supposed to battle.

Gym Battle

"All right, take your pick." Cilan said. "Who're going to battle with?"

"I choose....all three of you." Sam replied.

"All three.....of us? You mean a Triple Battle?" Cress said. "You're getting overconfident, kid. Let me tell you, we're incredibly tough." Chili said.

"I don't care. I'm gonna win!" Sam yelled, ready for action.

Cilan looked at Sam, and said, "All right then brothers, let's get ready for a battle!"

Cilan, Cress and Chili, all 3 sent out Lillipups. Sam sent out his three Pokemon, Step, Watts and Spike.

"Step, use Ember! Watts use Water Gun! Spike, Use Vine Whip!" All three attacked simultaneously, and all of their attacks missed. "Lillipup, use Tackle" All three Gym Leaders yelled at once, and the three Pokemon smashed into Sam's Pokemon. They all cried out, and fell down.

"No! Get up, Step! Watts! Spike!" He yelled. The 3 Pokemon got up with a lot of difficulty, but eventually got up. "I need to try a new strategy" Sam thought.

"Step, use Tackle!"

Step quickly ran over to the Lillipup and tackled it hard, causing it to fall over. "Now, Step, use Ember!" Step used Ember on the Lillipup, and the Lillipup lay motionless.

"Aw right!" Sam yelled. But no sooner had he said the words, the other Lillipup started tackling Step.

"No! Watts, use Water Gun!" Watts used Water Gun, and managed to hit one of the Pokemon. The Lillipup jumped up, and bit into Step, and the other ran over to Spike, and Tackled him.

"This is not good," Sam thought. "Spike fight back!" Spike tried to fight back, but a lot of things happened all at once. The fainted Lillipup was recalled by Cress, who called out Panpour. Step was knocked out by the Lillipup's Bite, and Spike was unable to fight back.

"Not good, not good" He thought. "Watts, use Water Gun on the Lillipup!" Watts managed to attack and injure the Lillipup, but the wrong one. He managed to hit the other Lillipup, who got back up and ran over and attacked Watts. The Panpour came up and started attack both of them with Water Gun, causing Spike to get knocked out.

"NOOOOO!" Sam shrieked. Only Watts was left, and he was like 5 against one. Sam was determined not to give up, and asked Watts to Water Gun the Lillipup. The Lillipup was hit, and luckily it was the one Watts had hit earlier. The Lillipup fainted, but was replaced by Cilan's Pansage.

It was quick work then. The Pansage Vine Whipped Watts, and the Lillipup bit her. The Panpour kept leering, bringing Watts Defense down to a minimum. The poor Pokemon eventually passed out from the pain.

"Oh no..... I lost......" Sam said.

"See? What did I tell you?" Chili said.

Sam tried to ignore him, but couldn't hide his disappointment, and walked out, picking up his Pokemon. He had been overconfident, and Sam knew it. He walked over to the Pokemon Center, and healed his Pokemon.

He didn't know what to do next. He walked on, disheartened to fight another battle.

He walked on, and bumped into the man from before. "Oh, did you challenge the gym? Did you win?" He asked.

Sam looked away, trying to ignore his gaze. He quietly replied, "no".

"Ah. See? I told you. Come with me." The man grabbed Sam's arm, and dragged him into the Trainer School.

"I am the Principal of this school. You see, we're here to teach new students new techniques, and to learn the ways of being a Trainer. In your journey, you will face such setbacks, but you should never give up." He said.

"Here, you should see some battles between some Trainers." The man led Sam to a huge room, where several People were battling. There were 2 People battling, one was a tiny boy and the other an adult.

The adult lost, and he walked up to the kid, and congratulated him for his victory, looking as cheerful as ever. He saw another triple battle, but the 3 Pokemon had amazing teamwork, which caused them to clean sweep the opponent.

Sam was filled with hope once again, seeing all of the battles. A slow smile appeared on his face. The man looked at his face and said, "Going to challenge the Gym again, are you? Then you will need these." He handed Sam 3 Quick Claws. "These will help you battle the 3 Monkeys. Good luck on your battle." He winked at Sam, and Sam ran off.

Sam equipped his Pokemon with Quick Claws. They were now ready for battle.

Sam entered the Gym again, and challenged the Gym Leaders again. "Come again for a beating again, have you?" Chili said.

"No," Sam replied. "This time I'm here to win!"

Gym Battle Redux

They entered the Battle Area again. This time he was not going to lose.

Sam then sent out Step, Watts, and Spike, and the Striaton Trio sent out Lillipups.

"Now, All three of you! attack one individual Lillipup with your attacks! Watts, Water Gun! Step, Ember! Spike, Vine Whip!"

This time, the Attacks were coordinated. Each attack hit its target, and the Pokemon were pushed back. Of course that wasn't enough.

The Lillipups got back up, and rared up for an attack. Sam didn't respond. He'd have to take the risk. The Lillipups came and bit all of Sam's Pokemon, and Sam waited for the exact moment. He waited, and he saw it.

Step's fur was set alight. Watt's shell was damp, and Spike's body shined. They had tapped into their abilities.

"Now, guys! Push back!" The Pokemon pushed the Lillipups back, and then were raring for action.

"All right! Form a row and Tackle!" The 3 Pokemon aligned themselves side by side, and charged.

The Pokemon hit the Lillipups like a train. The Pokemon flew back, and were knocked unconscious

"How can this be...." Cress muttered.

Cilan, Cress, and Chili sent out Pansage, Panpour and Pansear respectively. Now came the hard part.

Sam had the speed advantage this time around, and he planned to use it.

"All right, Step, you take on Pansage! Watts, Pansear! Spike, Panpour!" The Pokemon readjusted and focused on their targets.

"Tackle, then use your Special moves!" The Pokemon charged and hit the Pokemon. The monkeys tried to dodge, but were too slow. The Monkeys fell over, and were attacked by Super Effective moves. The Water, Fire and Grass moves seemed to do the trick.

But the Monkeys got back up, and Tackled. Sam's Pokemon were thrown back, but were still on their feet. The Monkeys climbed onto each others shoulders, and blasted Sam's Pokemon with a combined Water, Grass and Water moves.

"Defend yourselves!" Sam cried. The 3 Pokemon huddled together, and took the attacks together, cutting the damage down for them.

"Now! You know the Strategy!" Sam's Pokemon jumped in the middle of the Monkeys Group, and attacking with their moves, backed off and formed a small circle. The 3 Monkeys started to approach the Pokemon in the middle.

"NOW!" Sam yelled. The 3 Pokemon grabbed each other, and Launched their moves in a straight line. The Pokemon started spinning like a merry-go-round, and all the moves hit the Monkeys hard, causing them to be blown back.

The Pokemon stopped and started panting. Sam looked at the Pokemon. They were not moving, and then the announcement came, "Cilan, Cress, and Chili's Pokemon are unable to battle! Sam wins!"

Sam was overwhelmed. He jumped up in the air, and grabbed his Pokemon and hugged them hard. "We did it, guys, we did it!" He whispered.

The 3 Gym Leaders walked towards Sam. "You're the first, " Cilan said
"And only Pokemon Trainer to challenge us in a Triple Battle." Cress said.
"And win..." Chili mumbled, finishing the sentence.

"And you surely deserve the Trio Badge!" Cilan exclaimed, and Cilan handed Sam the Trio Badge.

"Aw right!" Sam cried, and placed the Badge in his Badge Case.

He walked out of the Gym, and healed his Pokemon. He then went to the Principal of the Trainer School, and thanked him for his victory over the Gym Leaders.

Chapter 2: Route 1

Travis once again walked along route 1, but this time he did it as a pokemon trainer. His new Lillipup walked beside him, intriguingly looking up at him the entire time. He wondered what it was thinking, unable to read it's stare, but as there was little to do about it, he dismissed it and continued on. He always enjoyed this route, with it's simplicity, it's peaceful atmosphere, and the way the petals fluttered in the wind. He stopped, his pup stopping along with him, and he savored his surroundings. He knew this would be his last time visiting route 1 in a long time, and he thought he might as well enjoy it. Lillipup gazed at him confused, as he stood motionless. Travis noticed, and said, "Lesson 1, pup. Enjoy the simple things in life, as they turn out to be the best. Remember that." The puppy pokemon's eyes grew wider, something he didn't think was possible. It was still young, so he wanted to teach it what it didn't understand. He didn't have any inspirational phrases memorized, and that one was improvised, but he would try his best anyway. Enough with the sightseeing, it's time for some trainer business, he thought.

He scoured the area for something to battle. He saw more Lillipup, several Patrat, and a few audino. He couldn't decide what to fight, so instead he commanded,"Lillipup, charge!" Lillipup stepped forward, then looked back at him, not having understood what he meant. Travis groaned and pointed foreward. "Use Tackle, running in that direction until you hit something. What you hit will be what you fight, got it?" The pup gave a confident nod, then dashed foreward. THUD! He ran ahead to see what was hit, and to his surprise, it was a strange blue otter with a scalchop on it's belly. He took his pokedex out of his pocket and flipped it open, pointing it toward the pokemon.

"Oshawott, the Sea Ot-

He closed it before it continued, not wanting to waste time. Both pokemon lay on the ground after the collision. "Lillipup, Tackle it 'till it faints!" He didn't feel like coming up with a strategy, and he hoped the first hit would give him enough of an advantage. They got up and faced each other. It was here that he noticed the otter was colored a darker blue than the one in the pokedex picture, but he ignored it for now. His Lillipup promptly obeyed orders, charging at the Oshawott. It was slightly faster, and the Tackle hit head-on, knocking the pokemon back. It quickly got back on it's feet and stood once more, ready.

The pup continued using Tackle, but the otter was smart enough to know what was coming now. It was now dodged every incoming Tackle, and when it was confident enough, it landed it's own attack, shooting Water Gun. Lillipup was hit hard, but wouldn't give up. Travis now was forced to change his tactics. He got out his pokedex once again to see what moves his Lillipup knew. "Tackle, Leer, Bite, Howl, and Odor Sleuth? Pup, stall it with more Tackles!" The puppy obeyed without question. Travis needed enough time to check what all the moves did, as the only ones he was sure of were Tackle and Bite. The battle continued on, and Lillipup was getting tired, until Travis was sure enough of his knowledge to formulate a plan. "Pup, use Odor Sleuth to take care of it's dodging problem." Lillipup was ready to flee, but Travis' change of plan helped it regain it's confidence. It closed it's eye and sniffed out it's opponent's location, identifying it. "Good, now Howl, then follow it up with a Tackle." It gave a loud howl, boosting it's confidence, then charged at the otter. It tried to dodge, but Lillipup instantly knew where it moved and turned, hitting it directly. The Oshawott fell on the ground, beaten.

Travis waited to see if it would get back up, when a pokeball attatched to a thick thread of silk flew at it from a nearby tree. He dove to grab the ball, which now contained his prize, but it was yanked away by the thread. It flew back into the tree and moments later he heard a click. It had been caught, but not by him. Angry, he ran to the tree, intent on climbing it, but he was hit in the face with small round bolts of fire, knocking him down. When he got back up, he saw the tree shake, and a shadowed figure fled through the trees. "Damn," was all he could say, before he gave up and continued on.

All he could think about as they went along was the mystery trainer who stole his rightfully earned Oshawott. He tried consoling himself by saying in his mind, At least we both got some experience. Lillipup couldn't be happier though, as it just won it's first battle. Travis smiled. At least he could be glad about that.

Chapter 3
"Entrance of the Battle Club"

David entered the peaceful looking town of Accumula. The buildings weren't very new but this was definitely different from his hometown. David started walking around the city, exploring every street he could. The houses were big some of them two or three floors high. As he crossed the street he saw the Pokemon Center and decided to go heal his pokemon as he just got out of a battle. The doors in front of him gently slided sideways and he entered. He walked up to the counter and called for nurse Joy. A beautiful young lady came to him. She had pink hair that were put in to circular tails.

"How can I help you?"

"I would like to heal my pokemon and have a check up on them."

"Of course…give me your pokeballs and i'll look at them."

"Here." He said handing his two pokeballs.

"They will be ready in about half an hour. Why don't you settle in your room or take a walk?"

"I was thinking of exploring the town some more. I'll settle in my room later."

"Ok see you in a while."

"Ok. Goodbye." Were his words as he exited the building.

David looked around and saw that there was a grassy area to his right a few block away passed the street. He went there guided by the fresh air that came from that direction. The place was a little park with some benches and some trees, but it was good enough for this city to give it a refreshing look. David went under an old willow and lied down on the grass looking at the sky through the leaves of the tree. David closed his eyes and started thinking of his journey so far…..even if it was just at the beginning he had done a few thing: he made a rival and most of all defeated him, captured his first pokemon and even had a battle whit a trainer in the wild. He thought that as a start he had done pretty well but he shouldn't let this go to his head as he has much more to learn and his journey is far from over. He'll just stick with his belief of having faith in him and his pokemon and everything will be ok somehow. Suddenly a pokeball hit David in the head. He got up rubbing his head and took the pokeball in his hand.

"I'm sorry I hit you. I got clumsy and before I knew the ball was heading towards you." A boy about David's age said as he moved away the long thin branches of the willow and came near him.

"It's ok , but be careful with it."

"Thanks. The name is Travis." Handing out his hand.

"David. Nice to meet you." Replying giving his hand also.

"Are you from this town?"

"No i'm on my journey and am just passing by."

"Ow so you are a pokemon trainer. So am I. Do you have any badges yet?"

"None so far."

"Me too, but I plan on getting my first one in the next town." The boy giggled putting his hand behind his head.

"So the next city has a gym….I'll have to train until then."

"Why don't you go to the Battle Club and have a battle with a trainer."

"Oh yeah I read about them but I forgot. Um I think I'll go."

"Hey why don't the two of us have a battle…what do you say? Let's go."

"Well my pokemon are at the Pokemon Center….."

"Then what do you say about tomorrow morning?"

"That would be perfect."

"See you tomorrow then."

"Ok bye." He said as he watched Travis leave.

"I think it's time for me to go back to the Pokemon Center."

It was night and the lamps around the city lit up one by one. David got back to the PC and got back his pokemon from Nurse Joy and went into his room. He called out his pokemon and fed them some pokemon food letting them stay out for the night. He went and brushed his teeth and then got him PJ's on and went to bed. Clover and Pyro climbed next to him: Clover at his chest and Pyro at his head.

"Good night guys….tomorrow will be a big day."

"Sewaddle…….Tepig" the two pokemon wished David good night and then went to sleep.

The sky was cloudless and all you could see were the stars that surrounded the moon. In the far distance you could see a plane making its way through the open sky. Nothing disturbed the peacefulness of the town the whole night.
David's morning started with him being waked up by Pyro's tail. He left the two pokemon sleeping until he went to the bathroom and took his close. When he came out Clover and Pyro were playing on the floor.

"Ok you two , are your ready for our battle?"

But before Pyro or Clover could answer Pyro's belly growled.

"Of course after we have breakfast." He laughed.

After having eaten all three of them went to the Battle Club. The building looked very impressive on the outside. This matched the interior as well as it was well equipped and very good organized. David walked up to the counter, only to be greeted by a tall, bulky man. He asked the man about Travis and he was pointed towards the second room on the left. As he went he told his pokemon that he has faith in them and the important thing is that they will do their best.

First Round

Spoiler:

"Hi! Ready to begin?" David said to Travis as he entered the room and went on the battle field.

"Of course I couldn't even sleep so I came here early."

"Then let's get down to business. Clover you're up first."

"Tympole take down that Sewaddle." Travis said as he called out his pokemon.
David pulled out his Pokedex as Clover went on the field and pointed it at the blue pokemon that came out of Travis's pokeball.

"Tympole the Tadpole Pokemon : By vibrating its cheeks, it emits sound waves imperceptible to humans. It uses the rhythm of these sounds to talk."​

"Interesting….Travis you start first."

"You asked for it. Tympole use Bubble."

" Clover use Tackle and pop those bubbles."

Tympole launched a few bubbles that gently floated towards Clover. She used her head to pop them one by one until none were left.

"That was refreshing right Clover?"

"Sewaddle!!!"

"Then take this on for size Bubblebeam."

A stream of bubbles came out of the toad's mouth this time more bubbles and a lot faster. This time Clover was sent flying backwards. The bug pokemon got up and shaked the water of off him. Before David could tell Clover to attack Travis yelled at Tympole to quickly use Supersonic. It was a matter of seconds until the attack would hit and David had no idea how to evade it. This led to Clover being confused. The bug pokemon started running around in no direction. It was an easy target so Travis told Tympole to use Bubblebeam again. The bubbles hit Clover and smashed it into the wall but surprisingly the bug pokemon did not faint.

"Clover focuse….stop thinking about the fight and try to concentrate on regaining your sense."

Some faded sound got to Clover but didn't understand anything until David shouted anther time at her. She focused on David …. her trainer and most of all her friend and when she opened her eyes she escaped the confusing effect of the Supersonic. Clover turned her head to David and smiled, even in tough times she could count on him and strangely with only just that smile David understood what the pokemon wanted to say.

"Always there for you. Now Clover use Tackle."

The bug pokemon started running aiming for the tadpole that was jumping in front of his trainer.

"Not so fast. Tadpole use Round to counter."

Just as Clover was about to hit Tympole the water pokemon opened its mouth and started to emit a strange sound that repelled Clover back on the ground. The sound was hurting the bug pokemons ears.

"Keep using round to increase it power." Travis shouted with joy that his opponent was in a tough situation.

The sound emitted started to get louder and louder. Even the judge and David were on their knees due to the strong sound. Travis was used to this so he was watching with a confident look at Clover. David had to act fast or this would be the end for Clover. He looked around but everything was useless, but then he turned towards Clover and then it hit him.

"Clover se the leaf around your head to cover your ears." He shouted as hard as he could to try and surpass the frequency of the sound.

Clover heard it as clear as crystal and it acted as it was told. It used its leaf as a shield for its ears and sealed its head from the attacks.

"Good job. I would have never thought of that but this just means that I can change the attack. Bubblebeam."

"If you liked that that you'll enjoy what's up next. Clover use String Shot and pop those bubbles as they come."

As the bubbles came toward Clover it spit its silky web and used it as a whip and popped the bubbles that came towards her. Travis was really amazed of David. He kept using one good move after another.

"Now catch Tympole in your silk."

When Clover popped the last bubble it pointed its mouth towards Tympole and shot another silky sting binding it in its silk. Travis looked hopeless at his pokemon as it was trying to break free.

"Now to end this. Clover use Air Slash."

Clover jumped up and slashed the water pokemon and sent it flying into Travis's hands unconscious. The referee lifted its green flag which represented David and shouted that the first round goes to David and Clover.

"You did wonderful out there." David said picking Clover up and putting her on his shoulder.

Second Round

"I'll say this …you're one tough cookie. Let's see if this wasn't just pure luck? Woobat come out."

Travis pulled out a pokeball and called back the fainted Tympole and threw another one, releasing a blue fur ball with wings. David took his pokedex again and looked up for some information about the pokemon.

"Woobat the Bat Pokemon: Its habitat is dark forests and caves. It emits ultrasonic waves from its nose to learn about its surroundings."

David pulled out Pyro's pokeball and called him out. The fire pokemon came out bursting with sparks of flame from its nose. It was ready for battle and was anxious to start. Travis told David that this round he will have the honor to make the first move.

"Ok Pyro use Tackle."

The fire pokemon started running towards the flying bat but Travis ordered Woobat to use Gust. Woobat flapped its wings and stopped Pyro in his tracks, almost picking him off the ground.

"Pyro use our tail as a spring and use Tackle again."

Pyro sat in its tail and sprung itself into the air and went straight for Woobat. Woobat was sent flying into the ceiling while Pyro landed calmly on the ground.

"Woobat use Confusion and show him which pokemon is stronger."

Due to the Confusion Pyro fell on the ground and couldn't get up. David was watching hopelessly how his pokemon was suffering but he couldn't do a thing as Pyro couldn't hear any command of his. Travis took advantage of this and told Woobat to use Gust again. This time Tepig was blown away and smashed into the wall behind David , slipping down onto the floor.

"Pyro I know you can still fight. You can do it."

Pyro got up and was eager to continue. David told him to use Ember and with those word s pile of sparks of flame were heading towards Woobat. Travis acted quickly and told Woobat to blow away the fire attack with its Gust and so it did. It flapped its wings and in a matter of seconds the sparks of fire disappeared into thin air.

"Now Woobat use Assurance, make it quick."

David didn't have time to react so Pyro was hit by the attacks. Pyro felt a strange hand that smacked him out of nowhere and pummeled him to the ground. David knew that Pyro didn't have much health left so he had to finish this fast. He ordered Pyro to use Tail Whip so the pig pokemon started wagging its tail in front of Wobbat. The bat pokemon was mesmerized by the movement and let its guard down.

"Now use Ember." David burst when he saw that Woobat was concentrated on Pyro's tail.

Pyro's attack hit Woobat dead on, scorching it a bit in some places. Travis fell for it and was a bit embarrassed that he fell for it so easily. He ordered Woobat to fly up and use Gust.

"Pyro you use Ember and the use Tackle."

David thought this through and he countered the Gust with Pyro's Ember leaving Woobat wide opened for a Tackle. Pyro his Woobat but fell down with it due to the fact that Woobat hit Pyro as well with its forehead. The two fell down on the ground both unconscious.

"This round is a tie but due to the fact that the earlier round was won by David the battle is won by him."

David rushed in the center of the battle field to pick Pyro up. When he got picked up Pyro opened its eyes and looked a bit ashamed at David.

"You did well. I couldn't be more proud of you."

With those words Pyro gave David a big Smile and jumped on his head, almost knocking clover of his shoulder. Travis called back Woobat and went next to David to congratulate him on the great battle.

"Hope we meet again some time." Were Travis's words as he shaked hand with David.

"Sure, I'll be waiting for our next battle." waving at Travis as he left.

"Ok guys let's go to the pokemon center and heal you up and then were off towards the next town."

"Sewaddle….. Tepigg!!!"

And with that said David left heading for the pokemon center and soon after he would leave Acummula town and go onto route two, making his way towards the next town.
