Chimchar is the only one I would choose. And it's god some cool evos too..
Puplup is cute, but.... I dunno we never got along XD hehe
Turtwig is a grass type, not so useful in the game if you ask me...

I'm sure when you see how it is portrayed in the anime, you'll fall for it.
It's nothing like Mankey and Aipom.. Monkey pokemon usually come off a bit annoying, but not Chimchar... it's hard to explain XP

There are no sand Pokemon, there are ground Pokemon, but the only Pokemon with sand in their names are Sandshrew and Sandslash

Chimcarr one on one vs pipup just can't win, Water over fire, but if you go Infernape vs empoleon, then it's a different story and empoleon gets smashed with a closecombat.
