  • I recommend changing to DS resolution (512 x 384). I think then the whole interface would look cleaner and official when played in half the size, which is always a good point. I think that blurred graphics, would just clash with those that aren't blurred and would make the whole thing look messy.

    I just found this and it all looks very nice! Looking forward to a beta/demo so I can try it out.

  • Well... it's been awhile so I figured I'd post some updates to my thread.
    First of all, Cobalt Burn has received a name change to Cobalt Black. This is to follow the standard color scheme. Please note, ofc, that Cobalt Black will have absolutely nothing to do with Nintendo/Gamefreak's upcoming PokéMon Black Version. The name change also fits better considering the game had nothing to do with Burns. The two game mascots are Regigigas and Darkrai, however the plot was more centered around Darkrai to begin with, therefore the new name fits along better.

    (New Beta Title Screen...Made with Paint...I downloaded a free trial version of photoshop... but it really is useless when you have no idea wtf you're doing...no joke. -_-)

    Secondly, this is probably a no-brainer, but the game has been updated to DS resolution. I would show a preview of the Battle Screen... but I'm not done yet. BUT here's a few screenshots. It's late, but these will be on the first post momentarily.
    Code:

    Strolling through the starter town.

    Azure City Gym Leader: Ren - The Aquatic Empress

    Hm...I wonder why the new PokéCenter is empty...?
    [IMG]https://i604.photobucket.com/albums/tt125/SupaTai/capture016.jpg[/IMG]
    This is where I'll get my starter!

    Custom Dex entry: Check!

    A late night stroll through Sepia Forest...

    And also, here's the sprite of Professor Evergreen. He's distantly related to Professor Birch and Oak (although Birch was twice removed through marriage). He's the expert on PokéMon Attacks and what fuels a species to use certain techniques. He also has a pet Zigzagoon named Zigs along with his long time partner - Bellsprout - known by the name of Spro.

    I've also finished the OW for the first gym leader, Serafino. Criticism is always appreciated.
    Spoiler:

    In regards to the two custom Battle Frontier areas, they will be known as the Battle Casino and the Battle Hive. The Battle Hive is designed to be reminisce to the original Crystal version battle tower, with battles separated by level intervals of 10. It will also allow some freedom in movement, similar to the Battle Pyramid and Battle Pyke. The Battle Casino will be most similar to the Battle Arcade of DPPt/HGSS, the main difference being before battle, a slot machine, coin flip, or dice will be activated/tossed/rolled and each have varying effects. I'll go into more detail later.

    Finally, I've realized that the only time people really offer to join a team is if there's an opening for beta tester or something of the sort. I've also realized the ones quickest to jump on this bandwagon are people with 15 or less posts and are just hunting for some material/game to play and probably never hear from again. Alas, I try not to go back on my word. That's why I'll be pulling out my team recruitment post. Those that have already requested to be beta testers will receive a demo a week(or more) prior to the official beta release. (which will be a long time away based on whether or not I want the demo to reach to the 4th or 5th gym (which would be lengthy as that would require making sure the beginning is evented and set in stone perfectly to prevent players from having to start a new game) or the first gym and afterwords the player has the option to explore beta maps, and maps made specifically for testing. (just for fun/cure of boredom ofc)) Then, after beta testing the demo will be released. Please realize there's only gonna be 2-3 demos, as I don't intend to re-release one because I misspelled Professor in a random NPC's text or not all 4th gen attacks were implemented at the time. Despite all of this however, assistance with scripting, even if it's just proofreading will always be appreciated.

    Credits for tiles in screenshots go to Kyledove and Newtitieuf (sp?).
    OW set was made using Newt.'s(abbreviation) rubric, so credit to that as well. Darkrai graphic came from The Spriter's Resource.

    Not to confirm any of your worries about your question, but if I understand your question correctly, there happens to be a screenshot of the Pokedex entry for Wartortle...in the first post...>_>;;;

  • Thank you, peeps!
    Anywho, just a few small updates. More mapping's came along, and rock climb has been implemented. Once I finish editing the battle screen, bag screen, mart screen, pokemon screen, and summary screen. I can do the eventing, which btw, doesn't ever really take me long. Then a demo will be released going up to the 3rd gym leader. o.o;
