5th Gen Pokémon Contests, Pokéathlon, or...?

Ever since Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald introduced the Pokémon Contests and they were brought back in DPPt, there were many mixed emotions about it. Then, a remake of Gold, Silver, and Crystal came along and brought in a new concept, the Pokéathlon - which was raved upon by quite a few. Nothing of these two has been seen as yet in Black and White, but I'm sure it's safe to assume that either one of these may be brought back into the Fifth Generation.

Would you like to see Pokémon Contests brought back in, but this time in a way where it's more enjoying or would you prefer they bring in the Pokéathlon instead? As for the "or..." part of this, what about something new altogether - a new kind of competition to take part in?

Since the third generation, I've always enjoyed Pokémon Contests. I still wish for the day it is actually based around the anime's concept of it, but we'll see if that ever happens. I'd really like for it to return though. At the same time however, I enjoy the Pokéathlon as well, and with the new graphics here, I think it could do wonders compared to HG/SS. So, I'm pretty much on a fence here on what I want exactly.

If it's possible, I wouldn't mind them both being put in. As for something new though, that really depends on what it is about.

Why not bring back the Battle Frontier? It was very fun in Emerald, so I think it would be enjoyable for people to have that back in the game, the Pokeathlon was fun, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the Battle Frontier or the contests.

I honestly couldn't care less for contests. Leave them in the past. Pokeathlon was good, I enjoy that sometimes - however I wouldn't mind if they left that out.

I'd like anime style contests too.

How it could work:

First Round: Pick two moves to use in succession - Some moves will work and combine, other moves will just remain separate so you won't get as many points.

Second + Third Round: Contest battles - Each move has a 'points' level, which goes out of your opponents score when it hits (bonus points for added effects and crit. hits, knockout wins).

It would make it more interesting :) Perhaps a gift as well as a ribbon as a prize as well :\ Give us a reason to want to do them.

I've never played the Pokéthlon, so I can't really comment on that. But on the other hand, I'd really like contests to make a return. I would prefer them to be RSE style, but I wouldn't be disappointed if they were Gen IV style, although anime style would definitely beat both of those. I think they should make more of a reward for completing them though, for instance an Elite 4 equivalent such as the Grand Festival in the anime.

But, I wouldn't mind if they were more like the Anime n_n;

I think they should have them ~*over Wi-Fi*~ and whatnot. That would be fun ^-^;
Also, maybe it's just me, but I'd like to see both of them in the game, and then something else completely different of which utilizes the systems used by both [the berry blending thing]

I loved the Pokethlon more than I ever loved contests. Whether it's because it's a much more masculine concept or the fact that there was an actual incentive to participate (the only way to get heart scales and certain evolution stones in HGSS as far as I know), who knows. I just wanna see it return. I couldn't care less about contests. If they are brought back though, make them interesting and give us an incentive to participate in them. :P

THIS. I would do so much more uhh... contesting if I could compete online. Also if they did include a Battle Frontier they need expanded Wi-Fi for that aswell.

I kind of want both. n_n; I liked DPPt's contests a lot more than RSE's but I also really liked the Pokéthlon. I'd be happy with either of those, or an improved version of either of those.

But preferably less battling. Battling is boring. It's all you do for the rest of the game. D: I want my minigames to be wholly unrelated, thanks.

I want the Pokéthlon back, but with more events. And maybe specialised events only certain Pokemon can enter? Like swimming, diving and maybe a javelin/shot put type event.

If they bring contests back I want them to be with a new system. I enjoy contests but they seem a little lacking in some parts, random moves to gain appeal isn't all that exciting, in my opinion.

Yeah, I would love to see the anime contest make its debut. Also maybe like a double contest where you enter in two Pokemon or you take on a contest with a friend.

You know I had the idea that one of the new HMs would be something like "Ride" and you could ride your Pokemon. After all, the makers said something about a new HM mode of travel, so I though it would make sense. It could also replace the bike.

Anyways, wouldn't it be cool that instead of constests, there could be races? Pokemon like Rapidash and Pidgeot would be really good, and maybe heavier Pokemon (*COUGH COUGH* SNORLAX *COUGH COUGH*) could play tricks on other Pokemon to help them go faster.

I want to see third-gen contests! I don't know why, but I preferred them over the fourth-gen... I think it was more the look and feel than the actual substance. I didn't particularly like the dance round, though. o3o

I want to see the Pokéathlon in there, too, though. Why not have both? It'd be more fun that way!

As a side note, and I've always said this, I want a grooming mini-game to be linked to the contests. You know how in PokéSpe, and I think in the games and anime too, you make your Pokémon look pretty before doing a contest? I can't imagine how bread and sweets improve appearance, so I want to groom my 'mons before I send them into the spotlight!

I wouldn't mind seeing the Pokeathlon show up again, it was pretty fun in HGSS.

Contests could come back also. I don't participate in them a lot in my games, but they are pretty popular it seems.

What would be pretty cool would be a hall in which has both the contests and the pokelathon, on different floors or something along those lines. I'd like to see the contests take another revamp, i never really liked them greatly as they weren't much fun in my opinion. Though the concept is really awesome, that's why it'd be cool to see a revamp.

On the other hand, I'd like to see something new, more fitting to the B&W style. Now that the region of Isshu is based in the city, I'd like to see something that implements that well. With all the new vehicles around, it'd be pretty cool to see them play a part on some mini-games if possible, without losing the pokemon feel of course. I'm hoping for something new and innovative, something I can really become addicted to! Unllike the pokelathon in which I found too easy and the contests which I found to be mundane and repetitive.
