I had at least a dozen of that Diglett card that Wobbu posted, so even when I was younger, I always just assumed that Diglett had fur. Though, I guess there are a few mole species that don't have any fur, so I can't say I'm all that surprised Diglett/Dugtrio doesn't either.

Actually, when you think about it, there are quite a few Pokemon where it's hard to tell if they've got fine fur, or just skin. For example, are Plusle and Minun covered with fur just like the Pikachu family, or is that just its skin?

Since they're based off mice, I think it's safe to assume they have fur, but like you said, it's not easy to tell just by looking at themWhat I've come to notice is, usually with Pokemon that look like they should have fur, lots of fan art of that Pokemon is drawn with attention to outlining fur and hair. It definitely makes them seem more like stylized animals instead of Pokemon!

I mean, we all know that Rattata has fur, but its art looks like this:

No fur whatsoever drawn. So the art never seems to be a good judge of furriness.

Hmm. Ponyta doesn't look like it has much fur at all.

Otherwise, am I the only one who thinks that Team Flare's symbol looks like Fairy Tail's symbol?

Maybe Ponyta's fur is actually the fire on its back.

If you think about it fire and fur sound alike :3

A friend of mine said terrakion had fur. Btw, has anyone here heard the ESR/FJV theory?
I thought it had :p Just doesn't show up in the art very clearly. Or maybe it doesn't?

And yeah, those abbreviations doesn't tell me much, unfortunately.

I never thought that Terrakion had fur at all. To me, its skin is sort resembling to those of elephants and whatnot, and same goes for other Swords of Justice members. Well, maybe excluding Keldeo, haha.

I was more thinking of them as hooved creatures like deers or horses or goats actually.

Sorry about not elaborating on the abbreviations its the entei-raikou-suicune theory, about what pokemon ho-oh revived that created the three:P thanks for quoting me :)

Never saw the Swords of Justice trio with fur except for Cobalion due to the anime; maybe Virizion has a bit as well. As for the theory, I've never heard anything about it, so can't be of much help. Sounds interesting, and I'd like to hear it explained if anyone does know what exactly it is. :c

Johto beasts! Even when you think about it, they really could be Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon who died in Tower and were born again as Entei, Raikou and Suicune. I don't like legends, but Generations I and II gave us nice Legendary Trios :)

In terms of design and competitiveness, I think Swords of Justice are far superior. They're a lot different from each other appearance-wise, and they could all be utilized in a variety of ways while battling. Legendary Beasts, however, are that great looking. Plus, Suicune is the only one out of the three that has enough strength to take down a decent amount of opponents, while Raikou and Entei are… simply not good. :( Johto legendaries are more popular, though, since they're older and better-advertised.

I like Virizion and Suicune. The rest can go somewhere. Make a legendary quartet?

The Swords of Justice are actually a quartet of Legendary Pokemon. People sometimes forget about the fourth member of the Swords of Justice, Keldeo. The only legendary trios introduced in the fifth gen were The Forces of Nature and the Tao trio.

In terms of design, I like two from both the cats/beasts and the musketeers/Swords of Justice--Suicune & Raikou and Virizion & Keldeo. Battle-wise, I find the musketeers are definitely more useful. Capturing-wise, it's more fun chasing Entei and Raikou in GSC/HGSS (and Suicune in GS) and trying to catch them XD Annoying, yes, but still fun, plus it's satisfying when I catch them without using a Master Ball~ Encounter music-wise, the cats definitely have superior music; I especially like that it's slightly different for all three in HGSS.

Do you guys prefer the Johto beast trio or the Unova trio? :)

Unova Quartet.

I'm a huge fan of hooved creatures, and the fact that the Musketeers are all based on hooved creatures (specifically Keldeo) really makes me enjoy their designs a lot. I fell in love with Keldeo's Resolution Form on first sight, and it's still one of my favorite Pokemon of all time. I also really like Terrakion and Virizion a lot, with Cobalion being the least favorite. I think their Sacred Sword thing is really awesome too, especially with how it looks in their respective movie. It comes right out of their heads, man! That is too epic!
