Mine's level 35, unevolved. In the actual games it runs on a 'Friendship' thing, and you need a certain level (which is affected by actions such as the pokemon fainting, or winning battles etc.). Once this Friendship level is achieved, the next time it levels up it'd evolve. I don't know if this holds for in the game, but using the pokemon as much as you can without it fainting seems to be the way to go.

i evolved mine without troubles just fed t vitamins and stuff like that xD

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but apparently the game will crash when you attempt to use Gardevoir in battle. The error message says that the script is taking too long to respond and that the game will restart. It's a shame since Gardevoir is usually a mainstay on my team. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

This is not RTA (Real Time Attack). This game is heavily balanced based on training Pokemons, and is therefore too hard to make in a single segment, unless taking 6 hours long. This is a legit segmented run, without cheat or tool.

Part 1
Want to save some time? Name yourself "A". Each time your name will be said, in battle or in the story, it will save some time, with a total close to 30 seconds at the end (I think). If you want to yolo and go fast, just go with a random name. And YES, taking the GIRL is faster. I'll explain to you later why it's better to be a girl. For now, you enter in your house, and you talk with your dad. Just walk the most effective way possible directly toward the starters. You WANT to take Charmander. It's the only starter able to speedrun this game. Here is mine:

The 3 more important stats are the attack, the special attack, and the speed. I want to one shot people (it's obviously faster than many turns) and I want to attack first. Obviously, it'll not always happen, but it's still very important. Also, you will have to battle an heavily strong Chikorita, and a Mudkip who can destroy you even with one level lower. If you don't have a total of 21 with attack and defense combined, you can forfeit right now your first battle. I wrote the nature, because that will affect the growth. I got a neutral nature, so this is pretty decent for me, but you want to dodge natures that reduces either attack, special attack and speed.

Time for the first battle. If you can't wait for two critical strike (1/16 chance each) in the battle against Chikorita, do a Growl first. You have more chances to win. I didn't growl, I probably did the fastest battle possible. Right after that, you'll rush down the route to encounter the Bidoof. Easy to beat, you can also crit with Ember to one shot. Note: Don't encounter Pokémons. It costs time. Just save before and after. Another note: saving takes time, ironically. The less you save, the most risky you are, and the more time you might save. If you want a safe run, save often and always go heal your Pokémon. I didn't in this route. Just after that fight, I rush strait for Blake with his Absol. An impossible fight? No. If he does Razor Wind and you burn him (with no crits involved), you can win after some tries. Now, go heal. Even if you did before. You need your pp back. In this run, one of your biggest ennemy will be not having enough pp, and then losing time (or even fainting). It's time to buy! You'll not pass the next section without potions. Buy 5, it's safe and useful for later too.

You don't take anything. Ignore the Pidgey, ignore training your Pokemon. Next is 4 battles strait to pass before Aedus. Use scratch when you can, because you don't want to use ember too much. I DIDN'T heal before FINISHING the first gym from now, so it's important to save that. Some RNG (Random Number Generator) can be tricky, and this is sloppy the forst time, but it's pretty easy to pass with a decent speed. Next is Aedus. Sonicboom is a pain in the ass. All I can say is: be patient, and good luck. You'll need some. The rest is pretty easy, most Pokemons can be one shot or 2, your speed will greatly help, and you should arrive at the first city after using only 2 potions (1 if you are lucky). Use them if you need to, but remember that Charmander has the Blaze ability, wich gives him literally an increase of his fire attacks by 1.5x if his health has less than or equal to 1/3 of his maximum hp. Really useful. Battle the unskippable trainer, and then you are against the gym leader. Ember is really effective against her first pokemon, then you'll level up and learn Dragon Rage. Use Dragon Rage to insta 2 shot her last Pokemon.

Charmeleon! I'll take a little time to talk about Dragon Rage. This spell does exactly 40 hp of damage, ignoring your own stats, the ennemy stats, their resistance, etc. This technique will be useful for a long time in the early game. Not strong enough to do enough damage? You can deal 40 strait.

Part 2
For the next part, you'll need to buy other things. 5 super potions and 5 repels will be fine for now. Skipe the train you can, fight the 3 others, and, oh, it's Emil! Dragon Rage will do an easy job. Just remember that even if it's easy to pass, some battles are worth retrying for better RNg, giving you some early finishings and you can economise pp. Use a repel to pass the moutain. Easy battles, I healed at the nurse, then skipped every trainer on the next route (except the first one) to fight Alex right away (just before, be sure to pass talking to the little girl in the house who gives you the charcoal, it'll boost your fire attacks). Even if you crit each time and one shot each of his Pokemons, the grail will kill you, so be sure to heal a way or another. If the nurse healed you, you can go directly in the gym, answering the 3 questions, and accepting the biggest challenge yet: Overheat. Finishing this gym fast needs big luck, Dragon Rage, and big luck. You go heal your pokemons at the Pokecenter and get ready for next.

In route 655, you battle the first guy, then take the bicycle (register it, you'll use it often simply to go faster), then battle the girl on the right. You can pass the last trainer by the bushes to skip the last trainer before Blake. But will you battle it? Good news, I found a way to skip it:

If Macho Brace would not lower speed, it would be effective. Otherwise, it is not.

Have fun trolling him, his recognition hitbox is pretty cool if you pass that way. You can then rush directly toward the next gym. Remember the TM Volkan gived you? It's Overheat, a powerful fire move you don't want to miss. You can skip the girl in the gym, and battle the 2 guys. I suggest to use Overheat on the Quilfish, it's simply faster. Now we are battling Spurge, yeah, it was fast. He, on the other hand, is hard. Use Dragon rages, and try to manipulate the RNG to force him to use less potions. A good thing to take note is that gym leader's pokemons have berry that restores health when their life bar is in the YELLOW. You can calculate strategies to defeat Pokemons in 3 moves or 2 instead of 4, per example. Same thing goes for the potions they use. Keep that in mind. Overheat should one shot the Nidoking. GG, we can continue the route. Go heal now, because you are fighting Alex again. It's raining, making Dragon Rage (again) more effective than Fire Spells. You should have Fire Fang by now, it's way stronger than Ember. Remember to buy 5 hyper potions and 5 super repel.

In the forest, if you past north, you just have to fight the ranger, then you skip one grunt and fight the female grunt. Fight the catgirl the best you can, and you can continue. Remember, for now, to NEVER have 4 out of 4 fire moves, at any cost. If you go against a Growlithe, Houndour, or whatever is immune to fire, you'll be in deep ****. Pass by north, you should have enough to go directly to the next city without problem. Heal, and go fight Emil who is waiting outside of the gym (doing whatever npc do I guess, just standing waiting for the player, it's pretty hilarious if you think of it). Pretty safe battle, you are strong for now, and fast. Dragon Rage will again prove his utility, but be careful: don't let Eevee steal you charcoal. You need that mineral more than you can think. In the gym, you can skip the third trainer, and fight the bug girl. FIRE EVERYWHERE. Piece of cake, you go out, and don't even bother healing, just go take your Lapras from the old guy in the ous at the south exit of this place. Give it surf, and you are set to continue. Zigzag and surf to avoid battles, and you arrive in "lightville". Heal, buy things you want, and get ready for some factory.

Part 3

Beat people. As fast as possible. Skip the ones you can skip. This section is pretty simple, use your best repels to pass the factory. Beat trainers, go faster, rush out of the routes to avoid unnecessary battles. Graveyard tower follows the same principle. Charizard is strong enough to one shot almost everyone. Then the gym... You have no type advantage, so make great use of your ability and your fire spells, you should also be fast enough to alway to the first shot. Togekiss is the hardest one, I could suggest to use overheat, then for the others, using Wing Attack (yes, you have Charizard now). Then head toward the next gym (don't forget to take repels in the desert). This one is as easy as it seems: to beat fighting, use Wing Attack. You might have some issues with the gym leader, because Machamp and Poliwrath can kill you easily, but with good rng all will be fine. Head toward the exit, where Alex waits for you. Remember when I told you to take a girl? If you take a girl, instead of a Gardevoir, he will have a Gallade. Fighting type is destroyed by flying type attacks, so no big deal. There is a long road without healing, and you biggest problem will be your PPs. I suggest using effeciency Wing Attack, and change it when you want for Aerial Ace, given by the flying gym earlier.

I have to admit describing the optimisation of this part is hard, because... It's quite simple and specific at the same time. You want to keep pp, you want to run at the good places, know the route at the ice labyrinth, it's just all about analysing the situation and acting for it. You'll face Emil. Beat him. Not easy to do, but well make-able. Finaly, you go to the steel gym. Just destroy them like you can, because Fire is super effective. At this point, just beware of Sturdy. Sturdy is an ability wich makes a Pokemon survive with 1 hp if he had at the beggining of the vital damage 100% of his hp. This means you can't (except exceptions like burning) kill them in one turn. Wich means they can hurt you. Hard. Anyway, you can skip healing (saving some seconds seems like nothing, but saving 15 seconds each city is helping like every easy little timesave) and finding the "secret" annihilation base. Funny tho, that max ether is exactly what you want, because you'll have so many battles you'll not be able to have enough pp. At the last room, take the Master Ball from the Liepard, it's some seconds faster than taking the one in the distortion world. After the last fight, you'll exit with full pp, full health, and ready to continue.

There is again many trainers possible to skip. Skip them, and now, don't forget to ENTER the pokecenter. If you don't enter, you can't fly back. The route after is filled with trainers, the last one being the hardest with his turtle Pokemon super resistant and strong. Wish for RNG, then you are there, congratz. Don't forget the Grievous Orb, and go catch Giratina. Here is my Giratina stats (in Origin Form):

One of the best scores possible, the importants are high, and my nature is perfect. Give Charizard Fly, Lapras Waterfall, use one overheat to kill Dusknoir, and you'll be good to do the last gym with Giratina. Use Shadow Claw often, wish you have not too much Pressure with all those Absols, and face Blake for the last time. He is hard. Really hard. I can't exactly describe my strategy, but you have many choices, including sacrifying Charizard and Lapras. We have to try the fastest way, but also the way that will work.

Part 4
Here comes the last part and... I can't describe it. You just do battles. Battles, battles, and battles. For now on, even if Charizard is stronger, you take Giratina for the rest of the time, training him the best you can. He is underlevel, but pretty strong, and you should be able (with many difficulties) to overcome the next road and the infamous Victory Road. Change strategies, adapt. Giratina is weaker than Charizard, but knows some nice spells. Normally, you would want to fly back and rest at the Pokécenter to regain pp just before entering Victory Road, but I calculated that the nurse is more worth your time (and some free exp). Don't let go now, we are almost there. Be sure to pick Dragon Tail as soon as you enter, because it's the only Dragon Move Giratina will have. Replace Shadow Force by it. Each trainer here has 5 pokemons, it's really hard. Save often, search for good rng, study the ennemy teams. And then, finally, you did it.

Before the Elite Four, heal, and take your time to buy stuff. I suggest 10 revives, 25 full restore (you'll not have to use it all) and then you'll buy TMs. Buy Thunder, and give it to Giratina instead of Hex, and buy Fireblast for Charizard, giving up Flamethrower. 5 battles to go, nothing much to say. Here is my individual commentaries for each:

Nixie: Good girl, her Politoed make it rain, wich means Thunder is better. Enjoy one shotting everyone except Vaporeon and Jellicent. Easiest fight in the entire game, you can even search for a good RNG.
Jorge: Use Shadow Claw and maybe Dragon Tail most of the time. Hard fight, easy to pass but hardcore to optimise, pray for crits because they know ice moves.
Alastor: As easy as the first. Shadow Claw is super effective. Tadaa!
Melinda: They can all one shot or two shot you. Whatever the strategy you take, I suggest to battle Salamence with Charizard because Intimidate will reduce too much the Dragon Tail attack of Giratina, the best against Dragon types. Use revives and potions, and you are good to finish this battle. Optimising is not easy, but I somehwat managed to pass my own mother pretty fast.
Captain Hercules, my favorite superhero of all time: Say hi to Toxic, because it's the best RNG you'll get. Begin with your fighting move, Aura Sphere. If Blissey does Wish, do a Dragon Tail. It might kill her, and the wish will be realised on another Pokemon, with 100% hp. Shadow Claw is your best move here, except for Breloom, take Charizard and make a good Aerial Ace. The others are pretty easy to beat.

There it is. It's pretty resumed, but sincerely, this game is simply so hard and so specific to optimise that I can't describe everything, especially battles. You have to manage hp, pp, types, etc. All I can say is I enjoyed each bit of this amazing challenge. But that...is only the beggining. Thanks for one of the nicest fangame I've ever played.

There is a way to make the synchronize ability work outside battle too in the rpgmaker. For Example Pokemon Insurgence (by thesuzerain) has it working outside battle effect. You could contact him and know the way.

I've uploaded one final update to the game to address the most common problems people are having, and you can read all about it on the first page. I consider this to officially be the final product, perfect or not.

As for questions, everyone can just discuss among themselves because chances are I'm not going to check this forum again for several months simply due to my own forgetfulness. ^ ^;

This was a fun experience, and I'm glad everyone's enjoying the game. Now I need to stop before the stress and time spent on it causes me to hate it. XD

If you are a windows user, then the saved file is in C:\Users\(Your Account)\Saved Games\Gray Topaz v2
So the pc in which u played it, go there, And copy the file in it, then start a New game in the other pc, then go to the same place in the other pc and paste it there. This should work.
