Emerald hack: Pokémon Inclement Emerald: A Decomp Difficulty Hack [Version 1.13]

Hey Buffel. You may not remember but I'm the guy who asked you about getting Marshadow's Z-Crystal back when I played Photonic Sun. I just beat this game on Challenge Mode and it is everything I could've asked for and more. Ever since you revealed you were working on an emerald hack I was excited for this. Especially since my fav pokemon of Gen 3 Flygon got the Mega Evo it deserved. I also really enjoyed how, like your previous hacks, most trainers, especially ace trainers, are dangerous.

No Legendary this time, though I did have Zapdos for a while since it has the right moves for the weather wars (Wallace clearly agrees), I ultimately didn't bring it to the league. Also, the new mechanic for Eevee? Insane. I made sets for all the eeveelutions but for me, Life Orb Jolteon/Espeon with Freeze Dry/Lava Plume/MoonBlast is the MVP. I do regret that I didn't make a full team that used the new abilities added to the game since I'm a sucker for new features like that. Perhaps in another playthrough...before or after a Monotype run.

Hey! I do remember that, Marshadow now holds its Z-crystal because of you mentioning it! Really good to hear to the hack lived up to your expectations!
I can't see your team screenshot unfortunately (you could try uploading it to imgur), but yeah there are lots of crazy options for Eevee in this. It's amazing what having an actual movepool does for it! I've still got plenty of things planned for this hack so hopefully your next run(s) will shake things up a bit!
 
Hey, I really and absolutely love this hack! I just have a few questions. I'm playing only on challenge mode if that pertains to anything I bring up here.

Is accuracy and evasion tampered with? It feels like the enemy is obscenely lucky with both hits and misses. I've had them land multiple hits on my mons when I'm at +4 or +5 evasion, or their accuracy is similar lower, especially in boss fights. I know that by the very nature of it luck is mostly random, but it feels like I've been seeing a disproportionate amount of misses and hits. I fought a trainer who landed 2 consecutive Infernos and a different one who landed 3 consecutive zap cannons. Am I just being extremely unlucky or is it tampered with?

A minor one, I'm not sure Berserk (the ability) is working right. I've noticed each time Berserk says it activates, it seems like my special attack isn't being boosted at all, let alone by +3 which is what it's saying.

Absolutely love the hack though, this is some of the most fun I've had in a pokemon game in ages.
 
I've been money-grinding in Meteor Falls and there's a weird graphical glitch with Minior, each time I encounter one the sprite appears higher until it resets to being directly on the ground. Not game-breaking or anything, just thought I'd bring it up.

Editing because this just occurred to me: Fully unrelated but I'm up to 12 full boxes. Is there any possibility of additional Pokemon storage in the future?

Hi i wanted to tell the creator that for some reason the game freezes for me after battles in my bag or if im in speed up. IM useing the john GBA lite emulator on my chromebook that allowes me to run android apps. Do you know what I can do to stop the freezing?
 
HI i wanted to let the creator know that for some reason after the update my game freezes during speed up leaving the menu or even after battles. IM using the john gba lite emulator on my acer chromebook.

It's highly recommended to use the mgba emulator. Many other emulators suffer from freezing.

Hey, thanks! No, accuracy and evasion is untouched, that's just luck and RNG doing what it does best. Trainers having more Pokémon and Pokémon that don't faint instantly makes it more likely for you to see low chance effects than in a vanilla game.

Berserk is only a +1 boost, the message it prints is bugged but the stat boost works.

I suspect some of the different Minior colours have the wrong height (or no height) set for their sprites, I'll check. Thanks for letting me know!

Maybe in future; adding more boxes will break save compatibility so it won't be for a long time.

Chromebooks have limited options for emulation, but you can get retroarch and install its mGBA core, should run properly on that.

Is shiny chance in breeding the same as it is to find shinies in the wild ? Because it seems impossible for me to get a shiny Shinx by breeding while the other shinies in the wild or game corner are easier to get , i just got a shiny Squirtle by accident

Yep, shiny chance is the same everywhere. A 1/1024 chance isn't exactly high, that's just how randomness works.

Congrats! The USUM one is quite a bit harder than the XY one, but the general style of both is similar to this hack.
 
After a lot of grinding, here is my Pokedex with all 752 Pokemon currently obtainable in Inclement Emerald:

And here is a small list of minor bugs that I encountered along the way:
  • Breeding Vivillon hatches another Vivillon instead of Scatterbug.
  • Gourgeist evolves using a Dusk Stone instead of friendship like in the documentation.
  • Meltan evolves into Melmetal when leveling up holding Metal Coat, which isn't in the documentation.

I've had an excellent experience with this hack and look forward to future projects and events, although I have to figure out what to do about my box space for this save in the future. Out of curiosity, how do you plan on adding more Pokemon to the game, especially legendaries and mythicals? Will they be placed in preexisting map areas, new map areas, and/or through events (like the ticket items in the base game)? I know ORAS adds some new specific encounters, but I haven't played it myself.

If it wasn't post-game content, then the TV Pokemon swarm news could be useful for adding new Pokemon. I also know that ORAS adds in a mechanic for mirage locations as well, but I imagine that could be more difficult to implement than what's worthwhile.
