[Completed] Pokémon: RBGenesis+ - Open to community updates! [More custom shadow pokemon, events, Johto, NPCs]

Hey,
So, if I need to grind, I need to grind, but this Fuschia gym is insanely difficult. I've done both routes in and out of Fuschia, the power plant, and both surfing routes. I can't access Saffron because it says I need to handle Fuschia, so is grinding my only option? Right now I'm literally going into the gym leader battle just over and over again. Am I missing something?
Love this game, just stuck! haha
So, just beat it. Not that it's the biggest of deals but after winning, it said I could use Surf outside of battle, but I had been..? Just wanted to bring it to your attention! :)

Glad to hear you beat them! I'll take a look at the badge requirement for surf, thank you for letting me know.

You might want to look into the tiles of Cinnabar Mansion, You can walk through spots like these.

Edit: So an oddity took place when I entered the hall of fame. My Swampert was registered as a Mega Swampert, and now I have this in my party after the credits roll.
Edit 2: I went to Oak's lab after entering the hall of fame, and the mega stones on the Table were for Venusaur and i got a Charizardite X and Y, but no Blastoisite, despite Charmander being my starter and already having the Charizard X on me.

Thanks I thought I fixed the wonky tiles when I was mapping it out. The Swampert thing has been happening with Sowbro and Lapras. It must have something to do with the code for mega forms but I haven't found where yet. I will definitely look at the mega stones too.

Now that I am officially done with my playthrough I thought I would drop a bit of feedback. First off, I love the how you used the GSC graphics, maybe I am a bit biased since the gen 2 art style is my favorite, and seeing devamped sprites of gen 3+ mons were a visual treat for me. The inclusion of Mega evolutions and modern features really added so much more flavor and quality of life to my play through. The difficulty was well balanced, I never found myself over-levelled at any point, the only time I did a bit of grinding was when I was set to take on the Elite 4. My only gripe would be the manner in which shadow Pokémon were included. I mean, considering the fact that the game started off by stating that it was taking place in an alternate timeline, I feel like it was a missed opportunity to take creative liberties with integrating them into the main storyline with Team Rocket, as opposed to letting them just slide in during the SIlph Co arc. Overall, I feel like this is my personal opinion, a definitive way to play through Kanto, especially for those who prefer retro graphics but yearn for quality of life features only available in later generations.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I had initially intended for shadow Pokémon to play a little bigger role than they did currently, and I might still expand upon them in the future. The feature is supported by the essentials kit, but pretty much everything related to them needed to be put together, from coding the moves, and adding separate sprites for the shadow forms. It was a lot of additional work I hadn't expected, so I did what I could at the time to try and have them there.

I'm curious if you tried any of the optional content; Gym rematches, Mt. Moon summit, or the Mt. Ember event. I'd be interested in your thoughts on those as well!

I'm going to update the download to one last quick update to fix the post game Mega stones and a few small details. I will be out of the country for a week, so I won't be able to make any adjustments during that time. But feel free to still share any issues that anyone comes across!

It's a level system. I think I forgot to put them in the text file with the changes. Pretty much all of them are level evolutions, except Gengar which is a dusk stone now.
Are you forgot to mention phantump? because it's evolved by dusk stone.

Still enjoying! (At Cinnibar), but if I may make a suggestion? Because the levels for the storyline have been scaled up, I think the levels of wild pokemon should be scaled a bit as well throughout the game. Trying to grind for Blaine's gym with Pokemon Mansion pokemon between 31-38 is taking forever (same with grinding for any gym and there are no more trainers I can access haha).

I was quite surprised to stumble upon this relatively well made creation with double battles and all that.

Turns out I cannot even get to viridian city at all. Any attempt to cross this section of route 1 will immediately result in a crash as shown in the image attached. Thorough playtesting should be done to ensure stability which clearly has not.
Yet another one to drop (for now until the issue is resolved) but this certainly lowers my overall rating by a lot. Better luck next time, I guess.
I'm sorry you're having issues with getting through route 1. I assure you, the game was playtested quite thoroughly through the year of development it received. I've never run into the error you shared, but I'm glad you have a screenshot so I can investigate. I'm on vacation at the moment, but I can try and find a fix for it sometime late next week. Thank you for sharing!

Hello. Sadly I have the same issue. The game always crashes on route 1 before I go into this gras.

Hey,

Enjoying the game so far besides the few errors that have been happening, I turned off battle animations because it was crashing quite often and I wary to turn to them back on. After and the most recent error that has happened is the same one listed above like the others, it's an error in the script for route 7, can't progress in the game until its fixed. Again, love the game, seeing different Pokémon in Gen 2 artwork great, just bummed about the random crashes that cause me to lose a lot of progress.

That's odd, I don't think I have any scripted events for route 7 at all, it's pretty small.

I apologize to everyone getting the errors, these weren't happening prior to the last update, so I'll look into what might be causing them as soon as I can. I should have a fix by Thursday at the latest.

Right so I kinda accidently hard-moded myself in a way I really wish was easier to undo. Because HM's don't require gym badges, and Mudkip can learn Rock Smash, I was able to take the side path in Diglett Cave to Rock Tunnel and completely skip all of Vermilion City. Problem is I now don't have Cut, am in Celadon City after grinding enough to get pass the trainers on the way there, but stuck at the Rocket Boss fight as I now need to grind high enough to handle their levels. It really feels like that ledge blocking you from traveling from the Rock Tunnel back to Diglett cave should have a space that you can rock smash open so I could go back and progress normally.

I am yet to give the post-game a spin, but I will definitely let you know when I get to it. I also forgot to ask this question when i typed out my feedback. Do you have any plans on giving Green a back-story of sorts or maybe further fleshing her out by integrating her into the expansion of the shadow Pokemon arc? I feel like she has a lot of potential to be more prevalent as a character.
