Pokémon Reborn: Synchronize [PG-15]

Name: Zero Storm
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Zero has short green hair and blue eyes. His skin is slightly darker than a slight percentage of people. He wears a white cloak with a green tribal type design. The cloak he wears also doubles as a type of glider, allowing him to glide in the air for a short period of time upon jumping off a ledge. Wind can increase Zero's flight time if it blows from below him. Otherwise, he's expecting a harsh landing. Zero also has in his posession one of his missing brother's swords. He carries it around due to a pact he made with his brother that they would meet again someday. He has a scar on his right cheek due to a sword training incident.
Personality: Zero speaks mostly when he needs to, and sometimes lets his actions speak for him. He has no idea where either of his older brothers are, and he has a deep hatred for vampires and the undead for reasons unknown. Zero's years of sword training was suppose to make him a bounty hunting assassin, but it didn't really turn out right. He doesn't trust a high percentage of bounty hunters since he thinks they kill people just for the goal of a cash reward for their murderous jobs. Zero doesn't understand why his family disbanded, but his uncle won't say anything about it. Zero has a few experiences with having to fight for himself, but he chooses to resolve a situation nonviolently. He has a slight stroke of luck in a way, but in most situatons, anything could happen.
History:
Zero's life started out with a huge fued between the adult members of his family. When Zero was three, his entire family finally split apart. His oldest brother, Shadow Storm, was taken to be raised by his bounty hunter father. The middle Storm brother, Tyrant Storm, was to be raised by their "proper" mother, and Zero was to be raised by his uncle, a swordsman. At the age of seven, Zero began sword training. After a year of harsh training, Zero made no progress at all. It was around that time Zero learned about pokemon. Zero's uncle went to different measures, and decided to ban Zero from ever seeing another pokemon unless he completed all of his training.

After seven long years of sword training, Zero was finaly done with all of his training. On his fourteenth birthday, Zero and his uncle moved to Nimbasa City in Unova from Three Island. Soon, Zero decided he wanted to become a trainer. His uncle thought getting a pokemon would be expensive, so he tried to get Zero to forget about it by taking a trip to Driftveil City. While in Driftveil, Zero soon discovered his power as a Sync when he managed to find a woman's lost Skitty in only two minutes without any clues. Zero was suprised by this, and went to do some reserch. He sadly found nothing about it, so he decided to drop it and move on. Soon, Zero recieved a letter regarding the truth about who he really was. Zero was slightly surprised since he already slightly knew about his Sync powers, but he only sccratched the surface of it. He was surprised he would be getting his own pokemon since he never had one before. Zero packed up all his stuff, including his swords, and headed off for Castelia City to catch a boat to Olivine City so he could get to New Bark Town. As he went towards the Castelia harbor, he ran into somebody with two swords. After some time, he noticed the guy with two swords was his older brother, Tyrant Storm. Tyrant had become a bounty hunter, and he couldn't stay long. By Tyrant's side was a Pupitar. Tyrant gave Zero one of his two swords, and they made a pact that they would one day meet again.

KoboraX: Pending. The Personality and Appearance sections are rather short, and Appearance overall feels barebones. The glider thing is edging towards the Gary Stu side of things. It seems you copy and pasted this from another roleplay where these things are more commonplace, such as bounty-hunting and so on, evidenced by your out of place mention of vampires and the undead, neither of which exist in this RP (looking through your posts, you've used him before in a few other things). The world this is set in is the rather cheerful Pokemon world, where the biggest threat is are gangs. Therefore, while I can accept proficiency with a sword I doubt the authorities would permit a teen to carry a sword around - we can assume there are weapons laws in place. There probably isn't a need for bounty hunters thus the boy would probably not be trained as one, the closest would be illegal mercenaries.

I mentioned the Syncs were all pretty ordinary, but your kid seems a touch on the Stu side. He seems to be making a spectacle of himself even without trying to/his intention. I think you should revamp the character a fair bit, but I'll give you another chance.

Got it done. Also, I think you'd have to have some knowledge of the Pokémon before you can use its abilities. It could also be a proximity thing.

One warning: This RP is rated 15+, so this SU kind of assumes everyone reading is mature enough for the possibly undesirable material regarding his appearance and history.

Spoiler:

Very interesting RP, I'll be checking this if there's ever an open spot.

About the powers: To take on the attributes of a Pokemon, one must be in physical contact for a short while unless it's there is a strong sense of trust on both sides. It almost has the opposite effect of the first power, the near-telepathy, in that it makes the Pokemon rather lethargic. The first power is more like hopping into the mind of the Pokemon and seeing through its eyes. You can communicate directly into its mind, but since most Pokemon aren't completely intelligent the conversation can be rather limited, and the younger and stupider the Pokemon is the less rational and more emotional their responses can be. For example, mind-hopping into an Alakazam will produce a completely coherent, intelligent conversation, whereas a Magikarp would be more like "How are you, Magikarp?" "*Waves of happy*" You do not need to be very close at all to initiate this and no matter how far you wander, your mind will be able to find its way back to your body - provided something hasn't eaten it yet.

TornZero: Liiittle borderline on Appearance, but it's fine! Accepted!

The Final Watchman: I'll tell you if there's an opening!

Those with reserves have two more days to get their SUs up, or your reserve will expire!

Hey, I put up the warning and had it in a spoiler. If someone decides to read it and pukes, I'm not liable. >.>

Also, could the attribute-mimicking be performed if you're making physical contact with something that was shedded, like an Arbok's/Ekan's skin?

TornZero: I meant length-wise, sorry =P I'm totally nonchalant about hunting and leather and stuff - I mean, where else are you gonna get tasty, tasty meat? And I hadn't thought about that... I'll say yes, you can, but the effect won't be as strong unless it's from your own Pokemon. It has to be fairly large, though, so a clump of fur won't work.

It hit 7 lines on my laptop (15.6" screen/1440x900 resolution) with a smaller font than Arial, so I assumed it would be fine length-wise.

Well, here it is!

Name: Jason "Jace" Moral

Age: 15

Gender: Hermaphrodite... Just kidding, Male :P

Appearance: Jason is a young, Caucasian man standing at 5"8'. He isn't too muscular although he does have nice athletic build. His hair is a short auburn color that he tends to gel and make it look spiky or "Gravity Defying". His eyes, however, are a colorful greenish-emerald that seem to shine and radiate courage. He'll occasionally have a stubble on his chin though as soon as it gets any more hairier he'll shave it. His skin is usually unblemished except for a scar on his left shoulder that he had gotten from in a fight.(See history) Some people, simply call him handsome. He also has callus' on his hands from playing guitar.

Clothing-wise, Jace dresses, well, normal. He wears Carbon Jeans, some with the pre-made holes and some without. He usually has shirts made by Raw State as each is original, handmade, and just plain beautiful and amazing. In the colder months, he will wear either his nice leather jacket or a hoodie. His shoes are basic Adidas black running shoes. He does have a single necklace that he got from his mother that has a rune meaning fearless. Though he usually doesn't wear gloves, he does have a pair of black fingerless ones.
Spoiler:

Personality: Jason is one of those people who'll stand up for something, whether it be rights or just to protect a loved one. He'll be the one that would speak out and give his thoughts on something. Some people may call him brave in the way he jumps into things though others call him an idiot because of it. Although people call him an idiot, he is actually quite intelligent as well as artistic. Nonetheless, he is quite a nice person that people can easily befriend, as well as Pokemon :3.

When nothing is happening, Jace tends to tap his fingers or anything he is able to use into a beat. This habit kinda started back when he was learning to play the drums and it stuck with him ever since. He is also one of those young adults who try and be the most charming as he can be. This tends to show him as one of the romantic sort, as in, he always tends to have some good manners when hitting on the occasional girl.

Some also call Jason adventurous when they meet him due to the way he acts about doing something exciting as well as other things. He is also a bit well-rounded, knowing how to perform parkour, fencing, and drumming and guitar as well as the ability to understand several languages, Japanese and Spanish being a few.

His bravery (stupidity) may be a great strength yet it is Jace's biggest downfall as well. Always standing up for something or wanting to save someone nearly always puts him in a position in danger.

History: Jace was born in Mossdeep of Hoenn, an island (or small region) in the Northeast Sector. His father and mother were both scientists at the local Space Center. Because of their work, they had many friends, one of which being a professor, who offered to teach Jace at the age of seven as well as let him go to normal school. His parents kindly accepted...

He thought he learned well from both. The usual things at school, like mathematics, science, fencing, music, etc. and things like languages, nearly all about Pokemon, and tons of other things from the professor. He liked his life and who wouldn't.

He soon started to exhibit the abilities of a Sync. Bonding easily with them, able to locate them, and seeing through their eyes as examples. This sparked interest in the professor and when the left to discuss the legendaries, Jace's powers were brought up in it. Within hours, a letter was sent to Jace to start a journey, which he was happy to.

The Final Watchman: Accepted! You were kinda close to breaking my personal rule, but wracking through my brains you dodged it.

And here's my SU. Oh my, Tokio, that is wonderful. Accepted. Why, thank you Tokio!

Name: Amber Caulfield
Age: Fifteen
Gender: Female
Appearance: Amber's a rather small girl, standing at 5'1" and with an average, if still childish build. She looks younger than she is, perhaps about thirteen, which isn't aided by her attitude towards things and general body language. Her skin has the mild tan of someone who spends enough time outdoors to be healthy, with freckles spattering her nose and arms. Her hair is a chocolate brown shade and rather short, and while it's straight it has the tendency to sweep to one side and curl near her left ear. Her bangs flick the other way, resting near her right ear, but a few stray hairs like to just poke out in any direction they want. Her eyes are large and inquisitive and a rather interesting light shade of brown. Conversely, her other facial features are small and delicate.

Amber doesn't waste her time thinking about fashion, really. She usually wears a black tank top over a long-sleeved white shirt, both rather plain and somewhat formless. She wears a moderately short dark red skirt and black tights (as in, the pants, not the stockings), and on her feet are everyday sneakers. She likes jewelry, though, and has a silver chain around her right wrist and a gold chain around her left. Her ears are pierced and have a pair of oppositely-coloured gem studs (which tend to change every now and then, she has a small collection). Around her neck is another chain, decorated with a few charms she herself made with a lot of patience and a small hammer. They're there to remind her of her family. She carries around a dark red, almost brown satchel to hold her things in, and she's started sewing odd bits and pieces like leaves to it as a tangible reminder of her journey.

Personality: In one word, Amber is naïve. She's childish and used to being babied, but she's not spoiled. She's a rather friendly person and loves chatting to people, but she can be rather shy until she trusts them… which is usually rather quick to happen. She doesn't see the bad in people, only the good, and likes to rationalize others' behavior when they act out. She's very gullible and tends to believe anything anyone tells her, providing it's at least plausible. She's quite nice to be around, providing her childishness doesn't get on your nerves, as her positive attitude tends to lift people up. She's rather smart, despite her failings, as she enjoys reading and learning about new things (which is partially where her gullibility comes in). She enjoys having a chance to prove herself to others and to herself, as she's rather insecure about her skills. She tends to treat Pokemon as she treats people, as she's never seen any difference between the two. Those fire-breathing, electric-shocking, water-shooting powers Pokemon have? Well, she has them too, sort of! She was never really aware that her abilities and affinities with Pokemon were unusual, and always considered herself below-average in handling them considering her isolated position. But she enjoys talking to Pokemon the same she does people, and considering most Pokemon don't lie she's gained a lot of knowledge from them.

History: Amber was the youngest child in a large, extended family living on the outskirts of Newbark town. Her family was a rather colorful bunch, their occupations and personalities wildly different to the next. Amber had no siblings, but made up for this with a multitude of cousins and their Pokemon. She was doted on as the baby throughout most of her life, and was never exposed to much work. Her cousins, while close, often liked to tease her and play on her gullible nature, and told her many incorrect facts about the world. However, when they tried to provide her with false information about Pokemon she was often in contact with, she'd just stare blankly and say, "No, they told me something different!" Her family just brushed this off as childhood imagination. However, when Elm was visiting (considering Amber's mother was a colleague of his, but more in the theoretical field than interacting with Pokemon), he noticed the girl getting along oddly well with one of his own Pokemon notorious for its aggressive nature.

When Amber was thirteen, having lived an otherwise quiet life, Elm approached her and asked whether she wanted an apprenticeship. She was a smart girl despite everything, and her practical skills with other Pokemon would come in handy. She agreed, and for the past two years has been working for the man. She tended to overshadow his other aides in everything but knowledge and the real application thereof, but she was an attentive student. She loved most of all sending young trainers out on their journeys, but never expressed a desire to go out on her own.

She helped look after the lab with the other aides when Elm was called out for something-or-other (she wasn't paying attention, despite the man's obvious worry). The moment the man came back, she swarmed over him and asked what on earth he was doing so far away. With a weak smile, all he could say is "Well, we were organizing your own Pokemon journey." It didn't sink in until she received the official notification, and for the next week or so she couldn't keep the smile off her face. She still hasn't been told much, beyond the fact there were seven other children setting out and they were pretty similar to her in how they communicated with Pokemon. The only extra information she was privvy to were the starting Pokemon, and who was to receive what.

According to the plot, the characters are paired up. So unless Tokio's up for making one person go on their own, we'll be waiting patiently.

I'll probably give it a few more days, and if no one signs up I'll probably make an NPC who can be controlled by anyone, but mostly whoever's partnered with them. If that happens, I'd like someone to volunteer because it means more writing for yourself than playing off another person. The other pairs will be randomized. But I might not do that, it all depends. The number of Syncs is not plot-important unless I think of a way for it to be =P I just want to partner people up to aid with the entire roleplaying experience - don't let your partner down, now!

Name: Evily Aquana
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Appearance: Evily has a fashion for blue. Her pink tone, to her, fits with the hues and shades of blue. Her silky hair is dark blue, reaching to her waist. Her bangs are pushed to the side to frame her face. Her eyes are light brown, which completely stands out from the blues. Evily's hat is similar to the Unova hat, except the pokeball is dark blue in color, while the back of the hat sky blue, with the other side white. Her jacket's sleeves end a bit past her elbows, baby blue in color. The baby blue color also hangs around over her chest, yet below that is dark blue in color. The visible necklace had a blue moon as the charm. Evily wears light baby blue gloves, which don't cover the fingers. She also wears a dark blue poketch. Her backpack had a baby blue strap, only one, that goes across her front. The backpack itself is dark blue in color. Her belt is dark blue, carrying two small pouches that are baby blue in color. Underneath is her baby blue skirt, which stop inbetween the knees and thighs. The boots she wears are dark blue in color with baby blue edges, but stop a bit before her knees. Her socks, on the other hand, go farther up and are visible since they stop right at her knees. They are, obviously, dark blue in color.
Personality: Evily is a very shy girl, reserved and lonely. She loves to go outdoors and explore, but doesn't like getting near people except pokemon. Evily has a taste for contests, yet not battles as much. She tries to flee from dangers and problems, not wantng to deal with them. Evily is a positive girl, yet she has her doubts. Unlike others, she prefers to wander off into space, and is a heavy sleeper. Sleeping is her favorite pass time. Strolls and picking berries are her favorite hobbies. In fact, she knows a lot about berries, wanting to be a berry expert one day. Evily is not that smart, but she has common sense. You could call her blonde, but she has her genius moments. Despite this, she has a very excellent memory. She gets along with aquaintances fine, yet is nervous around strangers.
History: Evilys past wasn't so pleasant. Born in Nuvema Town, she was a single child. Her mother had died giving birth to her, so her father took charge. Her dad was a retired Scientist. Going to school was very rough. At first she was bullied for her chubby form and not being as smart as the others. Her father fixed this by helping her know more about the pokemon around her, being a retired scientist, and eventually helped her get through the academic school year. After that, she and her father started to travel all over Unova. Learning about many pokemon there, they eventually moved over to Sinnoh. There, they settled in Snowpoint City, where she spent the rest of her years. It was until she discovered her powers that her life has changed.

Capi6: Pending. It looks good so far, but the History was a bit iffy for me. I assume her dad was part of the search teams? That's fine if he is, but that's a bit early; it was noticed the Legendaries were missing about a year ago from the start of the RP (apologies that that's not clear). If not, and he's just a curious trainer, that's totally fine too. Additionally, people wouldn't door-knock asking for Syncs, considering it's odd and kind of secret. If they were looking, they'd just observe her and her interactions with Pokemon. Considering she lives near Professor Juniper, she'd be the most likey to keep an eye on her (the regional professors are all involved with this, along with scattered others). You could just say something along the lines of, "She kept to herself, but she couldn't help but notice Professor Juniper was very friendly towards her even though she didn't know her too well", or something. Just fix that up, and you're golden!
