I agree about the story being better than the other team rocket ROM hack, imo it's the ROM with the best story I ever played, and I played TONS of them

LAST NEWS FOR JOHTO RELEASE - 2nd March 2025

Hi everyone, Dragonsden here.

Long time without some news about the English version. First of all, I want to apologize with all the people who have been waiting for the Johto release, only thing I can say about that is the project was not dropped, only was growing in other ways. Now, in this post I want to talk about three things:

1 - Reasons for the delay
2 - What's coming now?
3 - Johto release when?

1 - REASONS FOR THE DELAY

Last 11 months, after Kanto/Sevii release, I have been working in the project hard as hell, even harder than before. Why no update then?

As I said in the Kanto/Sevii release post (and still is in the title) my plan was to release both Johto and the DLC seasons soon, probably in summer. Indeed, both translations were almost done in April. However, some events happened, and changed my priority orders. Here are the main reasons:

- The game was well received here, and had a lot of feedback. For most people, the main negative point of the game was the translation. As you surely can notice, English is not my main language, I expect to improve that every year, but I'm limited in this way. Due to this feedback, a lot of people wanted to improve the translation, and we started to check all the dialogues.

Yes, the Kanto and Sevii dialogues, and the incoming Johto season. I have put a lot of effort in this project, so, I think is fair trying to give a better translation, that brings its quality closer to other aspects of the game. Translation may be not still the best, but surely better than before.

- Meanwhile my staff was working on this, I decide to focus in the other main goal: Hoenn season in Spanish. That goal meant an insane amount of time, and at the end, was even harder than I expected, because of lot of new unexpected mechanics and a last mission that blow my mind.

31st December was the main release, but I was fixing bugs and doing some more improvements until a few days ago, when 2.1 version (final version for this season in Spanish) was released.

2 - WHAT'S COMING NOW?

Once done the main goal in Spanish, there are some good news here:

- Now I can focus 100% in the Johto release in English.

- All the improvements and bug fixing done for the Spanish Hoenn version, will be in the English Johto release as well.
In all these months, that includes an insane amount of things, I'll try to remember and say the more important ones:

Like seven new cutscenes during the Kanto/Sevii/Johto seasons
New Sidequests
Scripts and events improved
A much more tested game
246 teachable MTs (for the whole game)
Documents with all the game info, including all new competitive items, balanced moves and stats, new pokemon info, all pokemon obtention, boss trainers info and much more

However, there is a bad new:

- Due to all that changes, the old .sav could not work for the new version. Hovewer, an 'ephemeris mode', as an option similar as 'new game', will be able to allow you to start directly in Sevii or Johto, with lot of different teams to choose, as well as all main event Pkmn and items in the PC/Bag.

3 - JOHTO RELEASE WHEN?

Now that I can focus only on this, with most part of the translation/correction done... the missing work for Johto English release is:

- Put the remaining corrections in the game
- Do little adaptations in the scripts (Part of the improvement in scripts and events is these, I added/splited some strings, for more dynamism in the scenes. Then, I have to addapt manually this improvements I did in the Spanish version to this one)
- Test and play all the game, including Johto

Written like this, it might seem a lot of work, but compared with the already done, it's 'lightweight'.

My plan is to release Johto in April. Meanwhile, I don't want to disappear as I did after the first release (necesary to focus 100% on the other goals).
Now my main goal is Johto release, so I want to post related content and general progress, that's the reason I'll have a Twitter only for the English version:

Also, I'll come back to the youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@DragonsdenPower-hk5ug/featured

Uploading soon the new cutscenes. After that, will come the Johto walkthrough as a final testing.
Once uploaded the last episode, Johto release should come next day, with the trailer release, updating this post, link...

That's all for the moment.

Thanks for the patience and for the feedback, we'll keep improving!

I've been in the Discord for a bit now, and I can say that I really appreciate all the work and effort y'all are putting towards the English releases. You're in no way obligated to do so, but you want to share that experience with a wider audience, and I can tell you that we really appreciate it. I'd rather wait 5 years for a solid release than 5 weeks for a shoddy one, take your time!

Thanks for the update! Can't wait to play this awesome hack.

One question: Since its possible to start right away from Jotho, how is that start? Like on island 5 with a Zubat or with a complete team like after finishing Kanto?

In the Efemeris mode, you can start with a complete team, in the "recommended" level they would be after you go through Kanto and Sevii
