    Pokémorph Medieval: The Scattered Shards​

    Story
    Once upon a time, or so they say, the humans and pokémon of the world were at war with each other. The powerful lady of the sky and the mighty lord of the sea together forged their energies into a jewel. It was brighter than any other jewel, glowing in all colors of the rainbow and with the aura of the vast ocean. It was also very big, as the fist of a grown man. Ho-Oh and Lugia created this to give the pokémon power to eliminate the puny humans from the face of the earth. The one who wielded the sacred jewel was given the strength and energy of a thousand men and a slight power to make others listen and obey.

    But Ho-Oh and Lugia couldn't agree on which one of them should wield the jewel. Therefore, it was finally bestowed upon the guardian of the deepest forest of Johto, a pokémon called Celebi, who was believed to be trustworthy. However, as opposed to what Ho-Oh and Lugia had planned, Celebi used it to calm the pokémon and then the humans. Thus, the war ended and Celebi flew into the voids of time with the jewel, to protect it from the world, or to protect the world from it.

    It's been 500 years since those events. Humans and pokémon have been warring again, for many years. Ironically and mysteriously, it all started when Celebi came back from the voids of time, carrying the jewel. Since the creators were pokémon, the sacred jewel was placed in the care of some humans, who guarded it carefully. But people and pokémon alike wanted it for their own and constantly attacked the fortress that had once been a sacred temple on top of Mt Silver. One day, someone did manage to steal the jewel.

    But things didn't go as the thief planned; as a powerful energy attack made by the thief bounced back onto its caster, the jewel shattered into countless pieces. The shards of the jewel were scattered across the lands, who knew if all of them were even still in Johto? Troubled, the humans of the Order of Celebi watched as humans and pokémon alike started to seek the shards for their own gain.

    Something else started happening when the jewel was shattered. Abnormal pokémon and humans started to appear. They could shapeshift into the other lifeform, sometimes at will and sometimes on instinct or by chance. All the cases were different. These souls too wanted the jewel shards, for they believed it would help them become whole human or whole pokémon again. Some who were human even wanted to become pokémon, and vice versa.

    The leader of the Order of Celebi gathered some human pokémorhps, as they were called, to the Temple Fortress on Mt Silver to beg them to do what was right. They were the only ones who could be impartial to any side in the strange war, since they were part pokémon as well as human. The elder priestess Celebara (who isn't really old, she's pretty young and bbbbbeautiful!) asked them to journey the land of Johto together, in the name of the Order of Celebi, to find and take back all the sacred jewel shards so that the Order could restore peace in the world.


    Pokémorphs
    This term is applied to both pokémon who can turn human at will, and humans who can turn pokémon at will. You are a human who can turn into a pokémon, be it at will or by chance. You're not necessarily born as a pokémorph; you could have suddenly turned into one.

    At the start of the RP, you can only turn into an unevolved pokémon. When in serious danger, or when wearing several jewel shards, you'll be able to turn into an evolved form of that pokémon. Think of it as Digimon who evolve into stronger forms when absolutely needed.... *shot for making digimon reference* Your constitution, strength and speed are above that of a normal human, but pokémon can match your power unless you've got some jewel shards.

    Your strength (level sorta :p ) depends on how many jewel shards you're keeping on you.


    The "war" and the setting
    Johto is still somewhat prospering in these times. The "war" going on isn't really a real war. Common humans don't seek the jewel shards and common pokémon only get attracted to the power when they happen to get close to a shard. There are gangs of bandits who collect the shards, there are strong individual who does the same. There are also bands of pokémon who are seeking the shards, as well as very strong individual pokémon who have felt the shards and want as many of them as possible to get stronger. Shards can be found worn by pokémon or humans. It's not likely you'll find any shard simply laying around by now.

    Most humans can't feel the shards presence, but they want them out of greed. Most pokémon can feel the shards, and some of them just can't help wanting the power. This has to do with the jewel being crafted by pokémon.

    Note that this is the medieval era (well, rather the japanese feudal era, but still). There are no electricity or pokéballs. Some people keep small pokémon as pets (even though it's not common) and many keep Miltanks for milk, Mareeps for wool etc. Pokémon are like wild animals, only smarter. When pokémon attack, which they often do, people fight them with real weapons and when pokémon die, their skin and other things are used by people for clothing and so on; much like animals in our world. And yes, people eat pokémon, pokémon eat people.

    And, if you hadn't noticed yet, -- This roleplay is very free. You pretty much make up the story yourselves, by playing out the set up scenarios in the areas or making up your own events together with the other players. As such, you can choose to heed the mission of Celebara, or listen to the call of the shards and leave the group to collect them for yourself, or even stay in the group and try to get as many shards as you can when splitting the spoils of war.... all is up to you. You only need to carry/wear the shards to get their power.

    5 - You can find magical treasure in the form of armor, weapons, jewelry or other things when defeating enemies. The sort of treasure is random. If you're planning to find a treasure, state so in a post, in the OOC thread or PM me about it, and I'll tell you what treasure you'll find.

    Well first RP on this forum. I am a vetrean though.
    Name: Sage Merasuki
    Gender: Male
    Age: 30
    Appearance: Sage is a 6'2 Anglo American. His hair is in a black emo cut with a 5 o'clock shadow gracing his face. He his fairly well built and is normally wearing a blue suit of plate samuri armor. He has a sheath for his sword on his waist. His sword is a fairly basic katana made of steel.

    History: Sage was born into the Order of Celebi. Though he got sick of their isolationist ways. before leaving them at age 16 to follow his own path. He made his way to Cianwood by boat. During his voyage to the town his ship began to sink as he fell into what he believed to be a watery grave he turned into a panpour and swam to the surface. With his new pokemon form he convinced a lapras to help him reach Cianwood where he became an assistant to Chuck the fighting pokemorph. He lived their defending the town until he was teleported back to Mt. Silver to assist the order once again.
    Personality:At first glance, Sage seems as though he is a dark person that would like to live alone in a life of isolation. He is slow to trust due to the state of greed he believes that humanity has come to. That is until a person has gained his trust. Then they know that he is a stout defender of justice and who cares more about others then himself. When in the presence of friends like at Cianwood he is a jolly man, but until you've proven to him that you can be worth trusting he'll see to it that he makes you feel as unwelcome as possible. ( Gosh I never due personality that's why this is terrible.)
    Weakness: Sage refuses to turn a blind eye to people in need causing him to put himself into extreme danger.
    Weapon: Katana
    Pokemon: Shiny Panpour. When turned into a Hiyakki he has dreadlocks rather than the normal hairstyle. His katana remains while morphed.

    RP Sample: Sage walked down the decorated hall of the Mt. Silver fortress and slammed opened the doors of the Grandmaster's office. "You saw the people being mobbed on route 28 why couldn't we send someone out to help him. We have the jewel we could take on any amount of Pokemon."

    " But, that is not why Celebi gave us the crystal. Who knows those travelers wouldn't have taken it."

    " That's it the only good the Order is doing is not giving some ass the chance at world domination. I'm sick of it!" He threw his talisman at the Grandmaster. " I quit!" He walked to the exit.

    " Stop you can't leave. Guards! Stop him!" As the guards swarmed in he ran for the exit. He barely made it through the main doors and ran for the stable. He jumped onto a Ponyta.

    " Extremespeed!" The ponyta sped from the stable galloping towards the gates. The gates were going up. He jumped off the ponyta. and sprinted towards the closing gate. He made it to the very tip before it closed and jumped across the moat. He barely got his fingers on the ledge and and tried to climb up as the Sandile jumped up to bite him. He made it and calmly walked down route 26.

    @ Bravoious - Interesting character. I agree on the character development part, but I'd still like you to expand the personality section a with a few more sentences, yes :) What's he like? Patient? Sarcastic? Tragic? Emotional or cold?

    Also, if his weakness is that he always helps people in need, it's more like a good thing... for this to be enough, you'll have to make him put himself into situations so dangerous that no person with decent self-preservation would go there ;) goes well with his history as a member of the Order, don't you think?

    And the shiny form is actually a good idea. I won't shun it like many other RP does. It could be a way to distinguish pokémorphs from pokémon.

    Also, here's my own SU. Note that even though I'm using a lot of people and story around New Bark, it doesn't mean another player can't also be from New Bark and have his/her own story around it.

    Name : Kiyoshi

    Gender : Male

    Age : 15

    Appearance : Rather short with long, bushy hair that's bright brown, bordering yellowish orange. The hair is usually set up in a ponytail, but it only makes it resemble two spiky bushes instead of one. He's almost always wearing a frustrated but smiling look on his face, and his canines are unusually pointy, giving him an extra wild look together with his slightly tanned (or simply dirty?) skin. He wears a teal colored vest and dark brown kimono trousers. His eyes are brown, almost purple. He's muscular but not in a bulky way. He's very fast but only starting to become physically strong.

    All in all, he doesn't look like a 15 year young man, more like a grown 12 year boy. When traveling, Kiyoshi doesn't carry any extra belongings. He doesn't need much, as he knows how to kill a weak wild pokémon and roast it into edible food, and isn't afraid to sleep outdoors.

    History : Kiyoshi has been living in New Bark for his whole life. When only 5 years old, he first turned into a pokémorph by accident, causing a big fire. His parents were afraid of him afterwards, but Katla the priestess calmed their minds. But one day when Kiyoshi turned into a pokémon with his parents on the outskirts of the village, a group of human travelers saw him and turned out to be pokémorph hating bandits. They slew Kiyoshi's parents, but Kiyoshi turned into a pokémon again and chased them away.

    Kiyoshi was then raised by pretty much everyone and no one in the village. He became the annoying orphan rascal who learned to get around on his own and trained his sneaking and running skills both as a pokémon and as a human. He never showed any bitterness about his parents being slain, but Katla suspected there was, deep down, a slumbering wrath to some day be unleashed.

    Personality : Kiyoshi is annoying. He seldom thinks before acting and if he does, it's usually for an advanced prank on a villager or for a very serious battle. Some people want to think of him as basically good-hearted, but that's until he steals their belongings for fun or tortures them with never ending chatter about pokémon and battling. Most villagers aren't really sad that he's gone away to Mt Silver. The only thing he was really good for was when bandits or pokémon tried to attack the village, when he saved them... in return for an extra large dinner.

    The kids in New Bark like him though, since he's always joking with them and playing tricks for them. Their parents despise his bad influence. He's cheerful and happy, until he gets angry. When he gets really angry in battles, he loses focus and stops thinking. Not often he stands still, and not often is he quiet.

    Weakness : He's a bit oblivious to other people's reactions and feelings about him. He likes taking a bath in a hot tub, but he can't swim at all. He's usually happy when battling, but if he gets really angry, he loses control and focus which might be good but could be very bad.

    Weapon :     As if his teeth and fists weren't enough... he's been carrying around his father's old wooden boomerang ever since the man died. Eventually, he learned to use it, much to the villager's displeasure. But he realized by chance it could be used as a weapon and begged the smith in the village to alter it to feature two sharp metal edges. Now it was a deadly cutting weapon, the length of his arm. Kiyoshi carries it on his back with a leather band that can easily be untied by pulling a string when he's entering battle. He reflexively know how to handle the boomerang without cutting himself.

    Thus, the weapon is a cutting boomerang.

    Pokémon form : Chimchar. He looks like the ordinary Chimchar, only his fur is slightly more to the yellow tone instead of the brown-reddish. His eyes are just as brown-purple as when he's a human.

    OOC: How dare you steal from Inuyasha! (Don't mean anything by this comment though.)

    Name: Mitchell

    Gender:     Male

    Age: 16

    Appearance: He is a type of dude who likes wearing sweater vests and trousers. He has neat brown hair and brown eyes. His right ear is pierced, and in that right ear is a golden hoop, something that ever performer in the traveling circus troupe wears. He has a fit pointed face and a button nose. His teeth are a bit crooked, which he is ashamed of.

    History: He use to live in Goldenrod City with his aunt and uncle. It wasn't the greatest time of his life because they always fought, their emotions running high. He was always slightly more sensitive to emotions than regular people and was easily affected by it.

    One day one of his aunt and uncle's fights had gotten out of hand. It was only stopped when plates, cups, and other things that flew across the room. To their surprise, what was supposed to be their nephew was a Ralts.

    This was the first time he turned into a Pokemon and after that time he was able to transform into a Ralts at will. Of course, his aunt and uncle stopped fighting, but their attention turned toward their "freak" nephew.

    After a few years he ran away. He was soon found by a circus troupe and was taken in by them. When they found out he was a Poke'morph, at first, they wanted to use him as a way to gain more fame and money. But after a while, they had grown to love him. Mitchell has been traveling with this circus troupe ever since, performing with them.

    Personality: Mitchel has always been slightly more in tuned with other people's emotions and when he turned into a Poke'morph he gained the power of empathy. Before he got his empathy powers, he wasn't an understanding person, he never thought before he spoke. Afterwards, he learned to control his mouth and actually began to think before he talked.

    He doesn't like anyone hurting his make shift family, emotionally or physically. He considers everyone in the circus troupe to be his family and will do anything to help them. He likes to help people in pain or people who need someone to talk too. He especially likes how good it feels to help others in need. (In the emotional sense)

    He doesn't like to spill blood or hurt others physically because he can feel their pain through his empathy power (In his human form). He doesn't dare injure somebody unless he has too (in his human form).

    He doesn't have any dreams or goals, as he has never thought about it. He does though, likes to read. Mitchell also has a soft spot for children.

    Weakness: His power of empathy. If emotions are running very very high, depending on what they are it can either short circuit, strengthen, or make him go berserk.

    Weapon: Dagger

    @ First Snow - Your SU is good, apart from two things. One is that you missed the most basic point of this RP, which even is in the title. It's set in a medieval age... no jeans, no cars, which leads on to the second thing: your appearance section.

    If you want to play in this RP even though it's set in the medieval times :p please read the first post a little (a lot) closer a second time and change your appearance and some other details in your SU accordingly :3

    Age: 16
    Appearance: Rose is tall (5'11") and slender. She has green eyes and long red hair that is usually tied back into a ponytail. She rarely wears a dress. Her usual clothing includes long thick black pants, a dark pale green bone button short sleeve shirt, and a good pair of boots. She always wears the amethyst pendant her father gave to her shortly before he died.
    History: Rose was born motherless. Her mother died of birth complications. Her crushed father moved with his newborn daughter to the foothills of Mt. Silver. However, only a few weeks after their move her father fell of a cliff and died. The order found her and too her in. She was raised by a nurse and took to the medical field. She was recruited by the order the second she discovered she was a pokemorph. 
    Personality: Rose is caring and kind. She is not the type to run into a fight. She cares deeply for others and will always help. She is very passionate about what she loves. She is always cheerful but can be very emotional. 
    Weakness: She is deathly afraid of heights considering what happened to her father.
    Weapon: Her trusty bow and a giant quiver of arrows.
    Pokemon form: A Vulpix with a slightly more rose colored fur. Typically stands on two legs to be able to shoot her bow.

    Well, sadly the only other RP post Ive made is in "Torn Apart- The Rift". Sadly it hasn't gone anywhere so there isn't much. I love suggestion and am always trying to perfect my posts. PM me if this isn't enough. Thanks! ;)
     
    Name: Diiju

    Gender: Male

    Age: 17

    Appearance: Diiju has black and somewhat shiny hair, cut into a buzz, as is the tradition of male members in his tribe. He has a serious and elongated face, along with dark green eyes. His face is marked with two diagonal red lines across his right eye (a sign of royalty in his tribe). The marks are not paint, however, they are scars. His nose is triangular and short, and his mouth is fixed into a serious expression. When he does open his mouth (which isn't very often), he reveals yellowing teeth. He is seen wearing a vest, leather on the inside and fur on the outside. He wears leather pants as well. He is always barefoot, and his clothing contains various gashes from warfare or unexpected run-ins with wild Pokemon. He stands at a staggering height of 6' 9", and his body is bulky and muscular. His appendages are solid, and his skin is a darkened and golden tan. He presents an intimidating figure, and he often surprises Pokemon by suddenly transforming into a massive human. Although he is able to throw powerful punches and such in combat, he is not a fast runner. Often times, people assume him to be much older than he actually is.

    History: Diiju was brought up under the chief of the tribe and his 3 wives (another tradition in his tribe). Because of this, he was well-liked by the villagers. His serious nature developed when his father and other military members pushed him to become trained in combat. He learned to be subservient and to follow orders. He discovered his Pokemorphing abilities when he was training for combat one night. He had been working with weapons against a tree and suddenly, when he concentrated on a specific point on the tree, he suddenly transformed. Since then, he has self-disciplined himself to change at will. When trying to perfect his concentration, a shaman saw him. From that point, everyone ended up knowing. Most people treated him the same way, but a certain few disregarded him.

    Personality: Diiju is serious, quiet, and respectful. Because of his inability to speak English very well, most people have a difficult time understanding him. He remains patient and tries his best to speak clearly and slowly. He is a great listener, but is not really a leader. He is a pushover, and will always obey orders.

    The culture of his village taught him to always respect Pokemon and use every part of their carcass. This includes meat, skin, and bones. ((I'm kind of ripping off of the Native Americans here... sorry D: )) He often apologizes to Pokemon he kills, and always shows respect to the opponent in combat, whether it be Pokemon or human.

    Weakness: His subservience and willingness to do anything often comes back to bite him. His clumsiness and lack of speed also do not contribute to positive aspects. He also has a hard time at making decisions by himself.

    Weapon: Two hardened wooden sticks, about a foot long in length. He uses these to defend blows, mostly, but he also blocks with his arms. He tries to inflict death as quickly and as painlessly as possible. For opponents that match his strength, he tries to weaken them or subdue them so that he can go in for a quick killing blow. He is well trained in using his sticks, and he knows where to strike.

    Pokemon Form: Larvitar. He often surprise-transforms into one if he needs a narrow escape or a smaller vessel of transportation. When in Larvitar form, he often surprise-transforms into his human form to catch a Pokemon off-guard. The red diamond on his chest is a darker and deeper red then a regular Larvitar. His eyes remain dark-green as well.

    Name: Flavia Cornelius

    Gender: Female

    Age: 17

    Appearance: Flavia is a strong young girl who keeps herself in top shape. She is decently developed as far as her chest and hips are concerned, but she's not the most beautiful young woman on Earth, that's for sure. Unusual even before becoming a pokemorph, Flavia is an albino, meaning that her hair is bleach-white with a few patches of platinum blonde here and there. This also means that her eyes are a very ususual pale blue, and slightly pinkish in the right lighting. Her pale skin is pinkish in color because she is very easily sunburned. The only reason Flavia's skin is pink rather than red is because she sneaks around in the shadows to avoid the baking sun.

    Being the adventurous girl that she is, Flavia will have no part in the frilly dresses and other debilitating styles of women. Rather, Flavia wears slightly baggy tan pants with an off-white tunic hanging down over them. This tunic is tied in the middle with a thin, golden rope (not real gold, just the color obviously) that manages to shrink her waiste so that she looks a little more feminine. Since she doesn't like her long white hair getting in the way, she usually ties it bakc with a thin strip of brown cloth so that it is in a ponytail, although a few loose strands are usually hanging in her face. Finally, because of her love of nature, Flavia chooses to let the ground be her shoes; she wears nothing on her feet but the skin has hardened and become rather caliced so she doesn't really need anything. On rare occasions, however, Flavia will wear simple sandals.

    History: Flavia was born and raised in Cherrygrove, the third child and first daughter of a common family trying to make a living. She never really had much experience with pokemon growing up, except when she had to go milk the family miltank. Due partly to the fact that this miltank was fat and lazy, Flavia never really learned about how powerful pokemon could really be. At least until she was seven.

    Partway through her seventh year, there came a day when Flavia was playing by the beach as she often did when she was young. Tired from a day of playing, Flavia took a quick nap in the sand behind a couple boulders where it was difficult to see her. It was only a short nap, and bofore long Flavia was up and awake again, looking out over the waves that were gleaming in the light of the setting sun. Surprisingly, Flavia took no notice of the fact that she had shrunk down to only about a foot tall, however she did feel dizzy. Very dizzy... Oh gosh, why was her head so heavy? Holding up her suddenly overwhelmingly large head, Flavia walked somewhat frightened over to a tidal pool where the water was clear and she could see her reflection. After taking a look, the young girl-turned-pokemon took a step back in shock and fell over backwards due to the weight of her huge head. Flavia was a pokemon! The question was, what kind of pokemon was she?

    Flavia's first thought was to hide the fact that she was a pokemon. As soon as she was human again she tried as hard as she could to avoid transforming. However, eventually Flavia decided that she wanted to see what she could do in her pokemon body. She began sneaking around outside the village and practicing the strange powers that she had discovered. Flavia never really found out what kind of pokemon she could turn into, and she still doesn't know at this day. Must be something strange and out of this world...

    Personality: Flavia thinks that girls are boring and wimpy and on occasion she even wishes that she had been born male. She is adventurous and always ready to step up to fight if challenge, her confidence boosted by the fact that she is half pokemon. Knowing no fear, Flavia will sometimes get herself into sticky situations, but with a little logic she can pull herself out. Flavia makes friends quite easily, but it takes a long tome for her to trust them. When you are not Flavia's friend she will either act indifferent to you, or be a total b*tch. This just depends on Flavia's mood. Unlike many girls of her time, Flavia is extremely independent and doesn't see any point in getting married and so she has no intrest in men that way. Or women for that matter. All in all, Flavia is a tough girl who you don't want to mess with.

    Weakness: In human form, Flavia's weakness is that she doesn't think at all before doing something. She goes headfirst into whatever challenge awaits her and that usually only least to trouble. In truth, the only thing Flavia is careful about is that she wants to hide her pokemon form and not let anyone find out about it. In said pokemon form Flavia is a little calmer, but her recklessness certainly doesn't go away. The major weakness of Flavia's pokemon form is that she never did get used to her gigantic head and so sometimes she will fall over or her head will flop back causing extreme pain in her neck. In other words, having a huge head is a pain in the neck. Literally.

    Weapon: Being the type who charges into battle without even thinking about it, Flavia has no intrest in arrows or boomerangs or ninja stars or any other kind of long-distance weapon. Also, swords and knives seem a little too elegant for Flavia's taste. So what does she use in battle? A mace.

    Pokémon form: Have I mentioned that Flavia has an obnoxiously large head in pokemon form? So then, what pokemon has an obmoxiously large head, hmmm? Let's just cut to the description. Flavia is an elgyem (Japanese name = riguree) in pokemon form and she is like a variation of the shiny form. While the lights on her hands are the usual red, green and yellow, her body is the more greyish blue of an alternate colored elgyem, although maybe she is a little paler and a little more greyish. Although Flavia is one hundred percent convinced that her head is too big, this is completely normal for elgyems and thus she is no different in shape than any others of her species.

    And yes, the only reason I made her an elgyem is because I love the idea of a futuristic pokemon in medieval times ;D.

    That is...Even though the whole "KAGOME!!!!/INUYASHA!" Name-shouting thing was the only thing the two ever said every time they found themselves in even the slightest of trouble. Seriously? Is it that hard to mix it up every once in a while? Just a "Help me!" or "Aaaaaah!" or "Gah, this demon is pulling out my spinal cord!" is all they need :3

    Stepping off of my soap box, RSV me puhleeeeaaazzzeeee. I'll probably end up being a Raichu-morph or something. And will have my SU up hopefully tomorrow. If not, the day after.
