[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon Azure Platinum (EN/FR) - Expanded Anime Story, Increased Difficulty, QoL Changes and more!

    Pokemon Azure Platinum
is the project I've been working on for the last year-or-so!
This game makes you rediscover the Sinnoh Region while incorporating elements of the anime series and by making the game harder to give a bigger challenge to the player.
In this new adventure, you play as a Pokémon trainer that has the goal of becoming the Pokemon Master of the Sinnoh Region.
During your adventure, you will meet many friends, rivals and enemies as well as stronger and rarer Pokemon.

Note: This game is available in English and in French
    SCREENSHOTS:
    Spoiler:

    STORY CHANGES:

New characters and story-arcs of the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl anime have been added:
    • You will meet new characters of the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl anime
    • You will participate in new tournaments inspired by those of the anime
    • You will meet key characters of the franchise that didn't appear in the original game
    • The postgame has been largely expanded and you will be able to participate in Operation AZURE, an Sinnohian equivalent of the Delta Episode, which will lead you to the legendary Pokemon Arceus
    • During your adventure, you will be able to catch all 493 Pokémon of the 4 first generations
    • Some moves from future generations have been implemented (High Horsepower, Volt Switch, Solar Blade, ...)
    • Some moves such as OHKO Moves or status moves have been reworked to make them fairer
    BATTLE CHANGES:

Trainer battles have been overhauled to give you a more exciting experience:
    • Every trainer possesses a new team with more Pokémon, stronger Pokémon, as well as optimal items and movesets
    • Many trainers are now mandatory, you cannot walk past them without fighting them anymore
    • New bosses have been added to fill some of the more empty areas of the game
    • You cannot use any healing or boosting item during a battle
    • Set Mode is mandatory and will make you play on an equal footing with the AI
    • A progressive hard Level Cap has been implemented, your Pokemon's levels cannot be higher than those of the next boss
    • A Nuzlocke Mode is available, preventing you from healing fainted Pokémon
    • Your Pokemon do not gain EVs
The level 100 postgame will make you fight a multitude of overpowered trainers around the Sinnoh Region. Some might even use legendary Pokemon...

    OTHER CHANGES:
    • You possess a Porta-PC with functionnalities that expand during the story. No need to go back to the Pokecenter to heal and change your team !
    • The game has been greatly sped up : the framerate is now uncapped and healthbars scroll way quicker than in the original game
    • You can buy an infinite number of Rare Candies so you don't have to grind for hours
    • Every TM is unlimited-use
    • The need for HM-use has been greatly reduced

Have you thought about adding a patch for Following Platinum or adding a version with? I don't know what it would take to do that but it would be cool!

This sounds really awesome, but I dont understand why you need to force the game to be played with no items in battle and set mode.

Why not leave them as optional settings so more casual focused players can enjoy the new story stuff you've made?

I do appreciate the accessibility to rare candies though! Its much better than grinding forever.

Hello, Why when I enter this cave I'm stuck with black screen is this a bug? Can anyone help me

It's pretty rare to see good nds hack 👍

So far the hack is good. But the fps outside of battles is way too fast, and I think It has caused to crash while running it on a 3ds with Dstwo+ a few times. And I think that with the forced ruleset of No Items during battles along with the Porta PC being a portable Pokemon Center, It kinda makes HP/PP and Status Recovery Items kinda useless/redundant, so there's not much value of having Potions and the such If they can't be used in battles and have a quick-fix. So I think that's something that should be rebalanced, by enabling a casual mode for item use during battles or something like that

First of all, I want to say kudos for blending the anime story into the game, something I felt ought to have been done a long time ago. Especially for Platinum as the Sinnoh arc and Gen 4 are my favorite (Many of my favorite Pokémon originated there and Paul is my favorite character in the anime, though battling Conway and Nando was hype as well). I've always felt like rom hacks and fan games never want anything to do with the anime unless they have Ash as the playable character, the appeal of which is something I personally do not understand at all. It is no exaggeration to say that a hack like this is exactly what I've been waiting for. All that's missing is a Emerald hack that pits you against Tyson and his Meowth in Boots. Or a BW hack that brings all the characters from that anime arc and battle club episodes(Love the various tournaments BTW). On a side note, the D/P/P games were far too slow for my liking so I appreciate the uncapped fps.

really enjoying the game so far, i've beaten crasher wake and am making my way towards the pokemon mansion currently. i wanted to ask, is there any point at which the daycare becomes available? the documentation notes the lack of daycare access specifically as part of the nuzlocke setting, but i have had nuzlocke mode turned off during the entirety of my game and the daycare is still completely empty. i assume there has to be some way to use it considering ditto was placed in the route nearby...

also, i'm another person with paul as my favorite character from the anime, so i really like being able to finally interact with him in a game :^) i also appreciate that we're allowed to lose fights with him, since actually losing to him makes his character more consistently believable. (i panicked and made a mistake at the end of the fight cynthia puts you up to; maybe he has a right to call me pathetic)

one more note, maybe to go in the known bugs section: when leaving to the right of hearthome where paul releases a starter for you, the game stops knowing what to do during the cutscene and freezes if playing on 3ds via r4. i transferred my save data to my laptop and back to get through that section, haven't had any other issues.

You can't access the daycare until the level cap reaches 100, which I believe is clearing the Pokémon league so...beat the main story to access daycare, I guess.

As for that fight, I actually lost because of a crit that happened at just the wrong time, which steamrolled into a sweep cuz I had nothing for the Pokémon that did it. A consistent problem for me in all these battles. Still, it's Paul so it didn't bother me as much as I expected.
