Pokemon: Black Infection [IC]

Naren looked around, already feeling uncomfortable. She gave one desperate glance and recognized an old building, not nearly as modern. Her father had told her about it. It was their old house, still owned by them. "This-a-way," she mumbled. "S quiet and safe in here." she gently worked her way over, trying to keep an eye on the other girl. All these human lights were making her sick. Elisha squeaked softly. Naren paused at the door, waiting for the other. She had unlocked it already.

"I can make you food if it's all right," Naren offered softly, trying to look at Elizabeth and failing, settling for looking at the ground. "Food tastes better with more people."

Scott made his way to the pokemon center and spotted Jess walking toward the gate. He decided not to stop her. He entered the center and got his pokemon healed. Should he go challenge Falkner? Yeah, he needed to take him out and earn his badge. Scott entered the gym. This place was a mess. He walked up to Falkner, who was directing repairs.

"What happened in here?" Scott asked. Falkner turned around to face Scott.
"The last battle got a little rough. I am Falkner, the gym leader. I presume you want a battle?" he said. Scott grinned at him, as did Cadas.
"Gible!" Cadas said as he tried to hide himself.
"What ever gave you that impression?" Scott asked. Falkner frowned at him.
"You do realise that with the damage to the floor, you will be at a disadvantage. My pokemon don't really on the confines of the ground! You see, I am a master of flying types!" Falkner said proudly.
"You're also really full of yourself. Of course I see that! But I'm going to take gown Red and end Cipher once and for all! I won't lose here!" Scott said.
"I admire your drive! Let us commence! Pidove!" Falkner said. He sent out the bird and walked to his position. Scott set Cadas down and assumed his own spot.

(OOC: I don't feel like doing the gym battle tonight. I'll do it in the morning.)

(OOC: I changed my mind.)

"Cadas! Use Tackle!" Scott yelled.
"Pidove! Aerial Ace!" Falkner cried. Pidove flew right at Cadas and slammed him into the ground. Cadas got up and dove at Pidove, who simply dodged it. Scott grinned at Falkner.
"Pidove! Use Wing Attack!" Falkner said. Pidove flew right at Cadas, his wing glowing a bright white color.
"Now! Iron Head!" Scott yelled. Cadas focused his energy, and his head got a silvery shine to it. He slammed his head into Pidove's beak as the bird tried to change directions. The bird went flying back, away from Cadas. That had to hurt.
"Gible!" Cadas shouted.
"Pidove! Sky Drop!" Falkner said. Pidove flapped his wings and Cadas went flying into the air.
"Dragon Rage, now!" Scott said. Cadas opened his mouth and spewed blue flames at Pidove, who tried to fly away. Cadas slammed into the ground and didn't move. Pidove could not move fast enough and was slammed into the wall, knocking him out.
"Both pokemon are unable to battle! Please send out your next pokemon!" the ref-bot said in a dull voice.

"You'll regret coming to challenge ! Skarmory!" Falkner said. Scott smiled at him.
"Don't think that I start with my strongest like most trainers! Celes! Let's destroy this fool!" Scott yelled as he sent in the Eevee. She looked happily at him and then watched Skarmory dart back and forth in the air.
"Steel Wing!" Falkner said. Skarmory flew at Celes with a silver glowing wing. Celes activated Detect and simply rolled under it. She got back to her feet and fired a Shadow Ball at the fleeing bird. The Shadow Ball hit Skamnory in the back as it flew high into the air. What the heck was it doing? Scott was answered soon enough as Skarmory slammed into Celes with Fly, knocking her to the ground. Celes struggled to her feet.
"Finish this off with Hyper Beam!" Falkner said. Celes meowed frustratedly.
"Please. Use Detect!" Scott said. Celes leapt clear of the beam as Skarmory fired it.
"Now! He can't do a thing! Hit him as hard as you can with Shadow Ball!" Scott yelled. Celes did just that. Skarmory went to the ground, and took off into the sky once more. Celes looked around.
"Detect!" Scott yelled. Celes leapt up and over Skarmory as he flew like a bullet towards her. She turned and fired another Shadow Ball. Skarmory dodged it and turned around and charged with Steel Wing. Celes blasted Skarmory in the face with another Shadow Ball, but the damn thing wouldn't go down! It slammed into Celes with Steel Wing, sending her sprawling to the ground, where she didn't move.
"Celes?" Scott asked.
"Scott's Eevee is unable to battle. Challenger, send out your pokemon!" the roboref said.

"Well, I guess all I've got left is Caelara!" Scott said as he sent her out.
"Shinx!" she said fiercely.
"Where did you catch her?" Falkner asked seriously.
"What? Oh, just outside of town. Why?" Scott said.
"I'll tell you if you win," Falkner said. Scott shrugged.
"Shock Wave!" Scott ordered. Caelara sidestepped the Steel Wing aimed at her head and fired a rather large burst of electricity at Skarmory. The super Effective attack finally took the bird out. Falkner sent out his last pokemon, a Pidgey as roboref said what they clearly just saw.
"Shock Wave again!" Scott yelled.
"Sky Drop!" Falkner said. Not this crap again. Caelara was thrown into the air as she fired more lightning at Pidgey. Pidgey was hit and flew on. Caelara was dropped from a very high height... And with the gracce of a cat landed nimbly on her feet.
"Gust!" Falkner shouted. He sounded desperate. Caelara was thrown into a wall by the fierce wind that was whipped up. She landed on her feet and hissed at the bird before charging at it with Tackle. Pidgey dodged the attack.
"Caelara! You'll never hit him like that! Shock Wave again!" Scott yelled. Caelara was slammed into the ground by another Tackle. Scott smiled as she blasted Pidgey into next week with her powerful electric attack.
"Challenger Scott is the winner!" roboref said. Caelara limped triumphantly over to Scott, who picked her up.

"Good job! I present to you the Zephyr Badge and the TM for Sky Drop. It al-" Falkner said.
"I know! You just used it on me. Now, how do you know Caelara here?" Scott asked. Falkner smiled at him.

Elizabeth looked up at Naren. Food? Where?! She swallowed and deigned to keep right on following. Why was this person being so nice to her? Her brain started to rattle trying to figure it out. Yet, as usual it was unable to come to an answer that Elizabeth felt like she could know for sure. She moved up behind Naren and just sort of looked up at her. It took her a moment to realize she should actually respond.

Elizabeth: "Yes, please..!"

Cubone meanwhile was already tired of this environment. Why were they there? She didn't understand the need for all this travel. Must be a human thing. Regardless, she followed along looking bored.

At the gate to Ecruteak, with a slightly tired Absol and a brand-new, but unconscious Ralts, Jess' PokéNav started ringing; the Pokémon Navigator, the primary method of communication and location-tracking through Hoenn now. Geoff hasn't had a call in forever. Jess pulled it from the side of her skirt and opened it to her--Geoff's boss at Cipher.

"Geoff, we have a report that there's a strong Shadow Pokémon hiding out in Ecruteak City's Burned Tower. You're the closest, stationed in Violet, so we need you to check it out and see if we hit the mark on this one." Perfect timing. A gym battle and another new Pokémon to capture. "We've secured you a room at an inn in the city if you need to rest for the night under the name '84'." Geoff's number as a peon. There were way more than that, too. He was lucky to get one under 100.

Clades, you getting this? Jess was pretty sure that Absol could have read her thoughts if he wanted to.

"It apparently has a high level of defense, so be careful." The PokéNav was cut off right afterwards, so 'Boss' must have hung up. Well, they have a place to stay tonight, and two things to do tomorrow: Snatch up that Pokémon, and take on the gym leader. So, Jess and her partner went straight for the Pokémon Center to take care of healing for the day. While Tutor and Clades were being fixed up by the Joy of Ecruteak (no pun intended) and her trusty Chansey, the trainer started to ponder over why he was still in Cipher.

1) You get to travel the world more... mostly going around on missions.

2) ... You get a pretty good... well, the pay's mostly used to take care of expenses like travel and supplies, along with room and board.

3) You get to meet Pokémon... that end up getting turned into soulless fighting machines right before your eyes, or get stolen from their trainers first.

4) You can't really quit without being hunted down.

Great.

Well, while Geoff was still in Cipher, Jess was free to roam now that she's not in the unsafe areas of Hoenn anymore; by now it's been completely overtaken by Shadow Pokémon except the major cities. She leaned back against the chair she sat in and pulled out her PokéNav again, flipping it open. She scrolled down to her Cipher boss' contact number and hit the "Delete & Block" option in the menu.... Now that they wouldn't be able to call anymore, they'll probably start hunting Geoff down. Even better, she groaned. "Well, it could be good for training."

Hm... Jess started plotting. They still don't know who Jessica is, and it's not like Geoff has any allies except maybe Aston, but he probably won't leave Cipher for just another peon. And she did hate the way Pokémon were losing their emotions just to become stronger. Geoff's goal would still be mostly the same: Beat Red and take his Purification Stone, then all the Pokémon can be purified. Heh. Since he practically sent in his two weeks warning just by blocking his boss, he may as well be putting up a fight.

Absol and Ralts both came out with Nurse Joy and Chansey, the egg-bearing Pokémon holding out their Pokéballs. Jess took them, recalled Tutor into his ball, and left with Clades at her side to get to the inn. We're going to start with that Shadow Pokémon. It'll probably be sleeping in the tower if no one tries intruding on it.

Understood. Absol definitely read her mind, since she was talking to herself. The thought of taking a large syndicate down when it survived destruction before was both amusing and intriguing. Whoever brought them down must not have finished the job.

As soon as they got to the inn and checked into their room, Absol crashed on the bed. After a clothing change, Geoff joined him. Today was pretty tiring, so they needed the rest. "The Shadow Pokémon and gym battle can wait," Geoff muttered as he drifted off to sleep.

Naren nodded gently as she went inside. The room was sparse, a few comfy chairs, a coffee table, and an old television. It wasn't as though her mother used this house as more than a sleeping space. There was food though, knowing that the woman did cook for herself. "Jus' a couple minutes," Naren said kindly, entering the kitchen and looking around. Huh, her choices weren't much. Ah the girl didn't need gourmet she bet. She quickly boiled some water and made some buttered noodles, placing reheated broccoli in it.

Elisha squealed as the sunflower offered Elizabeth a plate. "Don' worry, I have food for ya." putting the plates down, she put a couple of plates of sliced food down for the Pokemon. "Enjoy everyone." she was nervous, having never cooked for others.

"Alright, Caelara, as you have named her, used to be a Shadow pokemon. Notice the dark blue marks all over her back and head?" Falkner said. Scott examined her a little more closely.
"I had thought those were battle scars or something," Tyler admitted. He shrugged. So what? She was one anymore. Someone must have purified her.
"No. She was born a Shadow pokemon. And that's where those markings came from. She wandered into Violet City one day a few months ago. She was an absolute terror. I battled her, and caught her," Falner said.
"But, being Mr. Birdman, you naturally had no idea what to do with a feline like her, so as soon as you could purify her you turned her out, right?" Scott said, his respect for Falkner growing and falling at the same time. On the one hand, thee gym leader had done the right thing by purifying her, but on the other, she was barely old enough to take care of herself! When he had released her, she had to still have been a cub! She could have died because of that!
"You could put it like that. I set up a den for her, and I have been traveling out there every couple of days and leaving her berries and such, just to be sure she would be ok. The last time I went out there, she was gone. I figured she was out hunting. I had no idea she was comeing back to town. I thought she had been settled well," Falkner said. Scott rolled his eyes.
"So, you think this is an isolated thing?" Scott asked.
"No. Wild pokemon have all been running away from something out there. It's been very strange. Something has happened in the forest. I want to go check it out, but what would happen if a Shadow pokemon came to Violet City? Who would protect the citizens? I have responsibilties here!" Falkner said. Scott nodded. It sounded like a load of crap to him, but he knew the gym leader had a point.
"I'll go," Scott offered. Falkner looked pleased.
"I was hoping you would say that. Here. Take my Purification Stone. It's the one I used on Caelara. It should still have power left. Be careful out there! And let me know what you find!" Falkner said. Scott accepted the rock with a grateful nod.
"I'll be back soon enough!" Scott said. He walked out of the gym and put the Purification Stone in his bag. Time to go see what Caelara had been running from. After a quick stop at the pokemon center, of course. Once that was done, he and Celes came walking out of the center.
"Vee!" Celes said happily.
"Yup, we're gonna go do good guy stuff. Isn't that grand," Scott said with a sarcastic edge in his voice. He picked the little Eevee up and smiled at her.

Elizabeth looked at the food she was given. Ick, brocolli. Not that she was much of a picky eater. Beggers could not be choosers. It was a bigger helping of food than she normally got, which was what was most important. She looked up at Naren with a puzzled look on her face. This was all very nice, but she still didn't really have what it took to figure out that she was simply cared for. What basis did she have to say why others did what they did? Everything she saw only served to remind her that she was not one of them. It really didn't help that she didn't understand specifically how she had gotten where she was. She was ten. She couldn't figure these sorts of things out for herself. The concept that they were all humans and shared plenty in common just didn't occur to her on her own. She could only appreciate what was done for her and hope that others understood.

Elizabeth reached up to take the plate. Food was one thing that didn't really confuse her. Culinary was an art so old that even she was pretty comfortable with it. Now, the tools /used/ to cook were a different story. Elizabeth pretty much thought most technology was powered by magic. That or they were clearly very strange pokemon. Better yet, maybe there were little pokemon inside powering them? She had no better guesses.

"...Thanks to you."

She then looked around. Was she to make herself at home? Home taught manners suggested she shouldn't until Naren offered. Did people here even appreciate such manners? She had no idea, but she wanted to cling to them. They gave her a sort of odd comfort. She wanted to try and eat standing, but wasn't sure if she could manage without making a mess. Thus, she hesitated to do anything.

Naren smiled again. "You're welcome. You can take a seat and relax if y'd like. This is your place too miss." she didn't touch her food, examining Budew's Pokeball. "'m sorry," she mumbled to it. OT was afraid and angry, shaking the sphere. Naren gave Elizabeth a quiet smile. "M sorry I'm scarin ya. Makin friends ain't easy. I won't hurt ya though, just m'self."

Elizabeth blinked. It was her place too? Surely she was having difficulty understanding Naren. Never-the-less, she took a seat. She hesitated to eat her food for a moment. Had Naren claimed to hurt herself? What madness was this? She suddenly felt nervous again. Strange. This was very strange. She looked down at her food, speaking in a still reserved tone.

"...I'm not sure I understand..."

She couldn't help but have pointed it out. Though, she was hungry, and promptly began to eat the food she was given. Back inheritance time they used to give ritualistic thanks for food. Though, she couldn't remember the words anyway. It had never seemed all that interesting to her. What could she say. She never thought she would want to.

Naren thought a moment. "Mm... Well, I'm wantin to be yer friend. And that means ya look out fer one another. Also, its nice helpin folks. And I'm kinda um, weird, cuz of m' eyes, so I end up trippin an stuff."

"Cyn da," Elisha agreed, nodding from her apple.

Naren smiled. "anyway, 'm kinda happy. Ya didn' run away from me though ya wanted to. Tha's nice of ya. Thank you."

Scott walked into the woods. He called out Caelara. Unfortunately, he forgot to call Celes back. Caelara looked at her and hissed. Celes hissed back and Caelara jumped her. Scott watched the two roll around on the ground for a time before he walked over and picked both of them up by the scruff of their necks and held them far apart.
"Enough you two!" he said firmly. The two of them ignored him and hissed at each other. He set Celes down and she sat there looking angrily up at Caelara.
"What is your deal with her?" Scott asked holding Caelara up to his face. She ignored him and glared angrily at Celes. He sighed and returned Celes. Caelara immediately calmed down. He had to get them past this, now! He searched in his bag and pulled out two leashes and two harnesses. They were the kind that wrapped around the chest. That way if the pokemon inside pulled against them their front legs were lifted off the ground instead of choking the pokemon. He fitted Caelara with one harness. He had used them with Celes when she was still a kit, and had been in her hyperly curious stage. But after that he had thrown them in his bag and forgot about them. He put the leash on Caelara'a harness. It's a good thing he remembered them now. He hooked Caelara to a tree. Then he called out Celes, who turned and hissed at the struggling Caelara. Scott hooked her into a harness and she hissed angrily at him. She didn't like these harnesses. Scott ignored her and hooked her to a tree out of Caelara's attack range. The two of them tried to attack each other for a while, but stopped and began trying to stare the other down. Scott sat down, forming an odd triangle inbetween them all.
"We're going to sit here until you two stop trying to kill each other," Scott said. And he did just that. If one of the two would stop glaring daggers at the other and look at him, he'd give them praise, encouraging them to focus on something other than the other one. It was going to take a long time, but they would get it eventually. They were both smart.

Elizabeth seemed to need a moment to think about what was said, wherein she stopped eating ans swallowed her food, preparing to speak. Friends..? She wanted to be friends? Elizabeth hadn't seen that coming. Sure she had met many people who had been kind to her, but none had showed an interest in friendship. Had she just not noticed? It was possible. She looked up at Naren, into her eyes as if trying to see for herself what was wrong. How had she known Elizabeth was tempted to run away? She wasn't always aware of how much she used body language. Like every other thing.on the planet and beyond, this raised dozens of questions which confused her.

"You are welcome..."

She didn't understand why Naren thought she would run. To her Naren was just as weird as everyone else. Perhaps a bit moreso,.but in.the grand scheme of things it seemed kind of small.

Naren saw confusion again, aqua. How would a normal person explain it... "do ya... not wanna be my friend?" it would be a bit painful if so but not a big surprise. "My eyes can see auras 'n stuff, like yer emotions. Can't turn it off so I kinda always know... It's rude I know. 'm sorry." she cast around for a change of topic and Budew gave it. The shadow Pokemon sat down and stared ahead before plopping over in sleep. Naren smiled shyly.

"Cyn..." Elisha whined, jealous.

Elizabeth became somewhat frustrated as she thought about it. Seeing aura? Knowing emotions? Perhaps she saw the pain and longing that constantly gnawed at Elizabeth's heart. If she saw emotions, did she understand them too? Did she really understand how Elizabeth felt? Elizabeth spoke up, confused but at the same time slightly hopeful.

"Yes..."

She wasn't completely sure what was to come of this, but she did want a friend. What a friend meant, she wasn't completely sure. How did "friendship" work here? Where she came from, half of it was implied by her culture. What was it like here though? Anyone could be a friend, even one's parents.

Naren watched every emotion swirl and sway. Deeper emotions, ones that clung, made a sort of stainat the edge of someone. The blonde girl's was dark red with pain and orange for longing, like flame. She knew those emotions so well, maybe not the same way, bur she knew it. "I dunno what it's like bein friends, 'cept that people care and work together. They're real good to each other and you don't feel lonely."

Elisha bounced on her back paws, trying to soothe Elizabeth's nerves. "Cyn! Cyn!" she was chanting friend.

"Finally," Scott muttered to himself. Caelara and Celes were not actively trying to kill each other anymore. Scott got to his feet and groaned at his legs. They had fallen asleep. It had taken three hours, but it had finally sunk in. He walked over and unhooked Caelara from the tree. He walked her around near Celes and the two simply looked at each other. No glares, no hisses, just a wary glance. Well, it wasn't perfect, but he'd deal with it. They didn't trust each other. Maybe a double battle would fix that. He took the leashes off them, but left on the harnesses. He didn't feel like fighting them to get them off. Celes would go nuts with happiness when he started taking the harness off her and that would startle and aggitate Caelara. Even Celes's mere presence was upsetting her a little, but she was getting over it. The three of them began making their way through the forest, following the path Falkner had set toward Caelara's old den.

Elizabeth swallowed again, though she hadn't eaten more food. How had Naren known what she was thinking? This served to further convince her that Naren understood. This was unexpected. How did she react? Elizabeth just sort of stared at Naren, the longing feeling intensifying. She desired something, but was too shy to ask for it. She had for the moment forgotten about her food.

Not a lot of people understood her. Nobody had ever tried being her friend before, at least here. She felt as if some of her pain was on the verge of being cured. Hope flushed in, but she was too shy to ask for even small things. She feared rejection, though all she desired was for someone to fill the gaping hole in her heart where all her friends and loved ones had occupied. Was she weird for so desperately desiring such things? She didn't think so, but perhaps others would.

Naren felt a stabbing pain at the sight of grey. Discomfort and shyness. She smiled and held out her hand. "I wanna be your friend," she told her, pulling every scrap of confidence in her heart. "Would ya like to be my friend Elizabeth?" they both needed a friend, her instincts said. Desperately, they did. Budew stirred. Noisy... Back to sleep.

Elisha frowned. Were humans always this difficult or confusing? She didn't get it. But Naren wasn't hiding. Go for it girl. "Cynda-quil!"

Mailko's Pokéball exploded in a way after shaking violently. The little guy had had enough.

"Larvi!" he cried as he clamped to Nique's leg. He hated his ball. It was too dark in there. Nique looked down in indifference. But it bothered her a little bit that it seemed like Mailko was so.... needy and dependent; making him useless battle-wise.

"Mailko, it's not like you were in there for very long," she commented to the dinosaur. "It was just from Viridian to now."

The creature sobbed notheless, pleading its mommy to never go back there again. Taupe looked at it in disgust; how weak can you get?

"Aw!" Komoko said, concerned. "You poor thing!"

The girl went down and picked up the creature, comforting it in her arms. "Ssh," she quietly said as it cried in her shoulder. "It's alright, sweetie."

That wasn't mommy. Mailko pushed himself to see whose arms was in. Immediately flipping out, he bit Komoko's shoulder, causing the girl to yelp in pain as she released him. Komoko rubbed her wound as the Larvitar clamped to Nique's leg once more.

"I- I don't I'm cut out for this Pokémon thing, Nick." Komoko sulked.

"Nonsense! You think just because you've been attacked multiple times by Pokémon that means you're no good at raising them?"

Komoko frankly looked at the girl, feeling more discouraged then enthusiastic.

"Tell you what, I'll go train with Mailko alone for a bit while you go get acquainted with Taupe there to make you feel not like a failure."

"Uh…. Sure, Nick." She replied.

"Cool!" Nique exclaimed, turning away. "Meet you in Viridian, okay?"

---

Nique dipped her leg in the pond. Mailko immediately sprung off her leg, panicked at the feeling of coldness. Quickly withdrawing and planting her leg on the ground, Nique watched as Mailko struggled to tread water.

"Mommy! Help me!" He screamed.

"Builds character, kid!" She happily called back.

As Mailko tried to savage breaths, Nique took a gander at the surrounding area. It was pleasant and calm, not too much activity going on around them. There was a huge mountain-like thing that ended with a cliff. Nique rubbed the container's surface, wondering when the egg would hatch. Hm. It's not like it really needed this hefty case.

Nique walked a bit away from the pond to sit down and open the container. Puling out the egg, the creature within shook at the change of temperature. Nique giggled.

"Not used to the fresh air, eh?"

"Larviiiii!" Mailko cried from afar.

Nique set the egg down on the ground and watched it squirm at the new sensations around it. Using her power, it was revealed that the creature wasn't feeling uncomfortable- it was actually feeling pretty dang happy with all the new things. One can bet an incubator gets stuffy once you've been in there for a long while.

"You need a name, don't you?" Nique inquired. The egg shook a bit. "Okay. How's about…."

Suddenly, a flash of black came from the side and snatched the egg. Nique looked absolutely shocked as she shot her view in the direction it ran. It was…. a Poochyena? Not just any pup, though. It had something weird about it. Nique got up quickly and ran after it.

----

Mailko was still very much struggling to keep himself alive. As luck would have it, a Goldeen rose from below him and pushed him to the surface. Mailko breathed in relief as he calmed down. Although, it appears we was actually unlucky as the Goldeen thrust him into the air and then stab him with its horn as he came back down. Mailko cried in pain as he landed back into the water and began struggling once more.

Swimming at super-fast speed, the Goldeen rammed at him and shoved Mailko all the way into the pond's edge. Once he was there, a Fury Attack was initiated and the poor Larvitar was smacked over and over again.

The Larvitar opened his mouth and the Goldeen went in. Absolutely frightened out his mind, he bit down and didn't let go as the fish squirmed- even when blood started to flow from its body where his teeth had pierced and the Goldeen's cries went from frustrated grunts to desperate pleads. Mailko's body started glowing bluish in color as he used outrage. Being in his mouth, the Goldeen was blasted right in its face as his body was filled with the outrage's energy. As the blue flames scoured all around them, both the fish and the dinosaur screamed.

----

"Hah! Found you, you little bastard," Nique said as she calmly stood at the peak of the mountain. The Poochyena was attempting the chew on the egg, being very unsuccessful due to its hardness and shape. When the pooch completely ignored the girl, she went over and ripped the mutt off.

The dog growled furiously at her, glaring at her with glowing purple eyes. Oh, so that's what up with it! It was a shadow Pokémon!

"So I see you're a special bastard then, too?" She mocked.

The pup took no hesitation to jumping up, baring its claws out to attack her. Nique, apparently faster the dog, punched him in the face and it yelped as it was smacked violently to the ground. Nique laughed a bit. Cute.

The mutt got back up and growled as it swiftly went back in, now this time glowing purple. Upon reading, it was revealed to be Shadow Blitz, a fun version of tackle it got for being a Shadow Pokémon.

Nique jumped up, and the pup stopped once he his target suddenly vanished. The pup yelped again in pain as the weight of the girl was brought down on its back.

"Bested yet, dude?" Nique said playfully. She was having fun! Get stepped off quickly and punted the dog. It rolled around and landed on it side, but as fate would have it, it got up. More slowly then before, but still very much agile. Nique looked at him, surprised and pleased.

"Cipher makes you guys good!"

The pup barked ran around in circles, improvising an attack. Cocking an eyebrow, Nique watched as the pup grew extremely fast and then sped at Nique for another Shadow Blitz. The split second where dog bit on Nique's leg slightly, she lifted her leg and the dog flew up with it, losing the attacks' power and flinging itself to the ground.

That last blow not doing too much to it, the dog was getting up. However, it screeched as Nique's foot was brought down on its left leg, pinning it to ground. It looked bewildered for a moment, until it regained itself and snarled at the girl, clawing her ankles. But…. the girl didn't flinch to the pain eve as an oozing substance came from her limb. It was weird though, her blood looked….

"Poochy!" the dog yelled out as its tiny bones crushed underneath the might of Nique's foot. Sadly for the mutt, her foot only grew more and more powerful as the limb became more like a furry bag of broken glass.

Nique finally let the poor creature go, but the dog remained on the ground as it attempted to move its leg, yelping every time it tried. It went in for a lick, but only cried louder as the pain shot through it.

"So…." Nique said deeply. "Thanks for the battle. You were really fun to toy with!"

The dog looked up to see the girl two inches from its face and grinning evilly. It growled weakly.

"Now time to collect my prize," she mentioned, leaning towards the dog. The mountain rang with the dog's vicious barks…. until they were replaced with shrill screams.

----

The pooch was still alive, but it was only involuntarily twitching. Nique picked it up.

"I like it when things aren't afraid of me, you know. I like challenges," she said to it as they walked. "But you have to know that I treat everyone equally."

Nique held her arms out with the dog with them. The Poochyena was very frail and light now, to Nique's convenience.

"Like I always say, fair is fair."

And with that, she dropped the dog, sending it plummeting off the cliff.

----

Mailko was walking towards the mountain, drenched and exhausted. That fish had swam away despite it burns and wounds, leaving Mailko open to grabbing the edge of the pond and climbing out. But, at least it was over now. Nothing else could go wrong, right? Lightning doesn't strike twice.

Arf!

Mailko felt backwards as a Poochyena smacked onto the ground next to him, splattering a bit of blood in every direction

Scott

Celes looked at Caelara. This was her old den? It was kind of cozy. Scott looked around. There was nothing here. Just a small wooden basket with a large red pillow in it. He grinned when he spotted a small Staravia stuffed toy with it's head ripped off and fluff everywhere. He activated his Scouter. Yup, there were traces of Shadow here. They didn't last long, meaning that a Shadow Pokemon had literally been here just before Scott had arrived. Caelara obviously was pleased to be here. She walked over to her basket that Falkner had left and curled up in it. Scott decided to bring it with him when he left. It was small enough that he could just shove it in his bag, and it was as close to home for Caelara as anything was. Then Celes's ears perked up and Caelara lifted her head up. Both of them hissed at some unseen foe and Scott began looking around. A shrill cry pierced the air, and Scott was hit from behind and knocked to the ground.

Celes

"Master! Wake up!" Celes cried as she ran over to Scott. She pushed on his arm with her paws. Nothing. This was bad. Caelara hissed.
"Come down here and fight you B****!" Caelara yelled. She was watching the sky. Celes turned her eyes skyward as well. A rather large bird was circling overhead.
"I said get down here and fight!" Caelara hissed at the bird. She fired a Shock Wave, but the bird was to far up to get hit. Celes shoved Scott again.
"Master! Come on! We need you!" she yelled. She swiped her claws and opened up three bleeding cuts on his hand.
"Hey! Little priss! Get your silver tail over here and help me take this flying rat out!" Caelara yelled. Celes hissed at her now.
"F*** you! Master is hurt! I'm not moving!" Celes said angrily. Caelara glared at her and hissed.
"You will do as I say!" Caelara said angrily.
"Or what? You can't beat me!" Celes shot back. Caelara charged at her, and Celes activated Detect, dodging the attack. She leapt on Caelara from behind and knocked her to the ground, and bit on her tail. Caelara yelped and kicked her in the head. Celes and Caelara circled each other, snarling. That bratty little kit! Celes didn't have time for this! She needed to help Scott! But this little idiot thought she was the top cat, and that would nor be tolerated! Caelara charged and shoved Celes to the ground, then pounced on her. The two of them squabbled a bit and Celes ended up flat on her back, with Caelara on top of her, pinning her down with her paws on Celes's chest. Celes hissed angrily and kicked at her belly with her hind legs. She growled angrily and swiped at Caelara's face. Caelara jumped off her and Celes was on her feet in a flash. Caelara charged again, and Celes snarled. A few claw swipes later, and the two of them seperated. That's when the bird came down for another attack. Caelara and Celes were running at each other when the both got hit with wings spread wide as the bird, a Tranquill, blew past, knocking them both to the ground. Celes looked up, confused. That had hurt, a lot.

Caelara

Caelara yelped in pain as that bid bird flew down and hit her and Celes. Celes was on her feet first and had leapt at the Tranquill, barely missing clawing it's tail.
"Hey! Get back here you stupid piece of s***!" Celes yelled angrily as the bird took off. Caelara rolled her eyes. This little cub was kind of nutty. Well, the only thing that mattered was that she thought she was the alpha. That wasn't going to fly. But, pride matters could be settled after driving this stupid bird away. It didn;t matter until they finished it off. Then they would settle this, and if she wasn't going to back off, she was going to get hurt. Pampered little house cat, Caelara was surprised she hadn't turned tail and run the first time they fought. But still, this was her human, her pride, her home. No way she was going to let this cub mess with that! She hissed angrily as the bird circled overhead. It swooped down and she and Celes leapt at it. The two of them caught it by the wings and it went down. It delivered a sharp smack to Caelara's head and she went rolling away, hurt. No way this was happening! Not again! She'd already been forced to run once!
"Hey! Little Priss! Hit it from behind while I take the front! Let's bring this a**hole down!" Caelara said as Celes was getting to her feet.
"What do you think I'm doing B****!?" Celes yelled angrily. Caelara fired a Shock Wave and the bird was hit. Celes jumped into the air and clawed the bird's rear. Caelara used Charge, and static began powering her up. She glared at the bird, who had smacked Celes away and was charging at her with some kind of powerful Shadow attack. No! She wanted Celes to admit she, Caelara was the Alpha Female, not death! But she couldn't do a thing! She was still charging power, and had no way to release it! A brilliant flash of red appeared and Cadas had burst from his pokeball.
"Stop beating up my sisters!" the little baby shouted, as he stood in front of Celes and rammed his silvery head into the bird, knocking it dizzily away. Caelara finished charging her electricity, she blasted the bird half to death with it! She lay down and rested a moment. The dreaded bird turned toward her and she began shaking a bit. She couldn't help it. She was out of ideas. That had been her most powerful attack, and the bird was still standing.

Cadas

Cadas shook his head and looked up. Celes was grinning down at him. He got back to his feet and let out a cry. The bird was talon walking toward Caelara, who was now hissing scaredly at it. Celes began limping over to fight some more.
"Hey! Leave her alone you... You dumb beast!" she shouted as she fired a Shadow Ball, which did nothing to the normal type bird. Cadas Fired a Dragon Pulse from deep within him and the bird was rocked. It screeched angrily and turned to them. Cadas began shaking. What was he going to do!? He needed Master to give him commands! Celes needed nothing of the sort and Tackled at the Tranquill, who smacked her in the head.
"Hey! She's mine! They're all mine! I will protect my pride!" Caelara yelled suddenly. She blasted the bird with Shock Wave. The bird screeched incoherently and blasted a dark mist out of it's wings. Cadas, Celes, and Caelara all got sent to the ground, hurt by the power of the attack. Cadas was the first back to his feet and he was livid. He was not going to let them hurt his sisters anymore! He used Iron head, and rammed his skull right into the Braviary's, sending the bird sprawling to the dirt. Celes limped over.
"Holy s***! That was awesome Cadas!" she said. He grinned happily at her. Caelara walked over to the two of them.
"There! Told you I was the strongest!" Caelara said. Cadas smiled happily at her, but Celes frowned.
"No, I'm the strongest! You're just a spoiled little kit who doesn't know who's boss!" Celes said wearily. Caelara frowned.
"Keep telling yourself that. Whatever puts the fluff in your tail," she said as she shook her head. The bird got back up and screeched at them. Cadas glared angrily and charged at the bird with Tackle, as did his sisters. The three of them hit the bird and brought it down, knocking it out. A pokeball went flying over their heads and hit the bird, sending it into the ball. It began shaking furiously until it dinged. Cadas looked around. Who had thrown that? Then he saw Scott standing there with a triumphant smirk on his face.
"Got'cha! Good job, all of you!" Scott said happily.
"Daddy!" Cadas yelled. He ran over and clung to his leg, rubbing his face all over him.
"Whoa! Cadas! I'm glad to see you too!" Scott said. He reached down and patted Cadas on the head, making him feel happier.
"Daddy I was so scared! That was scary!" Cadas said. Celes limped iover to him.
"Master! I'm so glad you're ok!" she said happily. Caelara walked over and looked up at Scott, but she sad nothing.
"Say something!" Celes said angrily.
"Fine, Little Priss! I'm glad you're ok too!" Caelara said. Scott looked down happily at the three of them. Cadas stopped crying, but still clung to his leg as if he were afraid it wouldn't be there when he let go.
"Cadas, buddy, you're cutting off the circulation!" Scott said. He bent down and picked all three of them up and gathered his belongings, the Tranquill's ball, and Caelara's basket and pillow and began walking back to the city. It was already dark out, but Cadas really hoped they wouldn't sleep out here. It was scary out!
