Any faster T-bolter can topple him, but I think it can survive UnSTAbed electric moves. Not too sure.

What do you guys think makes it UU anyway. I think it might be the predicibility of its move sets and its Speed.

@Dark_Azelf: I was thinking it's Special Defense was lower than that. lawl

No good solid fighting STAB such as Close Combat, IMO, and has to resort to the less powerful Brick Break or the unreliable Focus Punch. So its overshadowed by stuff like Machamp and Gallade. Whilst it is bulky, its base 85 att leaves a bit to be desired, its still "ok" offensively however. Usually things need to hit really hard or take hits really well to be very successful, Poliwrath is more of a middleman. If you put his EVs where his purposes lie, he will certainly pull his weight for you in your standard team, at least its not offensively retarded like Cresselia and Claydol *Shudder* anyways the biggest thing is he's improved quite a bit this generation.

I just checked on Serebii, and only to regret posting that:

Serebii: Speed: 67.

Serebii: Speed: 70.

Poliwrath = 70, and Lanturn = 67... Luxray's speed, however, matches Poliwrath, and gets mention because of his Intimidate trait. I'd like to see how the notion of a Bulky Luxray works out.

Just a note, Poliwrath likes its Hypnosis, so all counters may have to deal with that.

On choice band set EQ is common in UU aswell. Earthquake is usually useless on Fighting types, but Poliwrath can use it to hammer Toxicroak, who resists everything barring Ice Punch, and the extra power against some of the bulkier Electrics like Ampharos and Lanturn doesn't hurt either.....

Poliwrath@Salac Berry
Adament Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 6 Spd
-Waterfall
-Focus Punch/Brick Break
-Substitute
-Belly Drum

Bellywrath... Salac makes up for it's speed while Belly Drum really makes this smash things up... only problem is it starts at 25% health lol

Well, I go with the basics.... Sorry for being so simple xD

Poliwrath@Leftovers
Adamant~252 Attack/112 Speed/140 HP
Hypnosis
Waterfall
Bulk Up
Brick Break

*Keeping this Poliwrath conversation alive*

One thing that REALLY lets Poliwrath be a team player, even on some sandstorm teams, is Water Absorb. Since Rock/ground is weak to water (and grass, which is less common), bring him in on an anticipated Surf/Hydro Pump/SOMETHING WATER, and enjoy a nice 25% health boost. However, if you did it just for the boost and you came in on a Lanturn or Ludicolo or something, then you better get out of there.

Also, one thing that can ruin a last ditch effort is Damp. If you expect them to explode and you have no ghost, then this'll ruin their one chance to take you out, and they would die by resitual damage or something of the likes.

I love Poliwrath. I never use it anymore, but it is great. Tremendous defensive typing, bulky, and a good movepool (for my purposes anyways). I prefer CB Focus Punching random stuff, but a lot of things work. It can run Bulk Up sets very effectively as well.

Isn't it ironic that Fighting is a very good defensive type?

How about we do some Ludicolo. Here's a favorite of mine:

Ludicolo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 164 HP / 94 Speed / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature

Hydro Pump
Grass Knot / Energy Ball
Ice Beam
Hidden Power [Electric / Fighting]

Great with Rain Support. Great defensive typing and decent coverage.

Also, everyone check out the Battle Logs forum, post your own, and critique others. *shameless advertising*

BUT NOT A FAVORITE OF MINE!

Are you still gonna do to the rest of the pokes what you did to Golem? That seperate page was nicely done.

Sorry, I've no clue how to do it. I can organize them in one neat post, if you like.

Ludicolo@leftovers
252 HP / 76 SpA / 180 Sp.D
Calm nature
Trait : Rain Dish
- Ice Beam / Toxic / Hidden power Electric
- Surf
- Leech Seed
- Protect

Between Leech Seed, Rain Dish and Leftovers, you restore around 25% of your hp me thinks in 1 turn.

You can use ice Beam if you fear dragons, Toxic helps with Stalling, Hp Electric hits other waters not named swampert, who wont switch in anyway in fear of a grass move, and youll beat it with leech Seed and protect regardless.

With Leech Seed it depends whos seeded on how much hp you get so it could be more then 25% per turn. Looks like a good set but I like swift swim over rain dish for ludicolo but as a annoying stall set it looks good.
