3rd Gen Pokemon Emerald Monotype Challenge

Bit late, i'll try ghost. can i trade lv5 ghost pokemon over at the start, because ghost types are in the late part of the game

Actually, I'm just waiting to be able to get a Leaf Stone to evolve it with. In the past, I remember finding one in the game without the use of shard trading, but I don't remember where I got it. Until I get it, however, it's staying a Gloom!
 
Oh my. I've found myself a tad underleveled here. Since Flannery was cake, and I'm doing bug, I suppose I just assumed Norman would be easy as well. Argh. Back to the desert for training.

can i choose Mudkip as my starter, and then use it becasue the first ground type isn't until near the second gym?

and if it evolves by the time I find my first ground type, can I still use it?

You can use starters. :)
So even if you're running a Ground monotype, you could even use Treecko or Torchic.

I've never played Emerald before. I've played sapphire. it should be close to the same right?

I tried to fight Brawly, but his Mukuhita KO'ed my entire team. So I ran into the cave, caught a geodude, delivered the letter, then trained until Grovyle was Lv. 24

then I beat him with a screech/quick attack combo! woo!

It looks like some of the contestants are starting to get through the game pretty fast. Good luck to all of you, because, even though I currently have seven badges, I feel like I'm not going to be the one to win this challenge. First off, I have NO idea how I'm going to go through the Battle Frontier (Factory excluded) with only the poison types of Emerald. Secondly, I've been slowing lately because I also have college stuff to do as well. However, I'm still going to be trying to do as well as I can, and I hope you can all do your best as well. I'm rooting for all of you!
 
I'll go with...Hmm...Uh...Bug...No! Uh...
Battle Frontier is absolutely 100% impossible. I'll have a bet on that. A real bet.
