Well you can always use paint as a starting base, or if you have photoshop you should use that, and if you run Ubuntu-Linux then you can download 'Kolour paint' of the software centre.

I have Photoshop CS5, but that's not the problem. The problem is, I suck at spriting, period. I've seen Cave of Dragonflies Spiriting Guide and made my own sprite once, but just can't seem to get the hang of it.

Well you can always find spriting tutorials on the internet that go into alot of detail.

Also, for any Emerald fans, I have a Pokemon Emerald 'Red' sprite here for people who want it.

Yes I have heard the spriters resource. But I didn't use the spritesheets off there because; 1, the colour was desaturated and 2, I wanted to do my own.
Anyway, I'll post a resized and assembled version of that sprite soon.

Wow! Those are good sprites Rayquaza., if I wasn't using HGSS style sprites in my fangame I'd definitely use that one.

Deleting the outlines and resizing them is basically a good start to making them BW style. Study the sizes in BW and experiment.
