Pokemon Hacking Team

My post count was is not really high considering I was here for like 10 months.

Anyway, I add stuff to the hack, mostly text for characters to say. I'm not going to make message scripts (they are pretty easy), instead I'm going to use Advance Text. I'm only going to do message scripts when there is something else (like giving items) involved.

By the way, does you school end this week?

yes, it does. i'v managed to skip out on the last day of school tomorrow, so i finally have some free time!!
i should be able to get some really decent work done, so don't fear :P but i am not gonna give you a date of which i will be finished, because that would mean i end up rushing.

Oh and i think in your sig, it says 'my hack, pokemon police'...well, i'm quite sure it's our hack, not just yours :P
and it seems my plushies are doing well, considering i haven't really fed them o_O
 
Well, if I say "our" in the signature, it wouldn't make much sense. Yes it is our hack, not just mine, still I'm the owner hehe, plus I spent hour and hours of work on it. I acutally planned eveything out on a notepad long before I even posted this stuff online. Don't worry, I will change it to something else in the signature :cool:

take your time with it, you don't have to rush.

I just made a script that actually works. The script will:
Tell the player about his position as a junior officer.
Give the player a "Special Key" which is actually the card key from the game, which I will change the name of later.
Give the player 5 Pokeballs and 2 great ball
Tell the player to choose 1 of the 3 Pokemon

I changed it to something better(in my opinion and made thing in the future of the scripting easy). I spent all day on it and finally I have a pretty good 100% working script.

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH, I MADE MY FIRST MOVEMENT SCRIPT, THIS WAS THE TIME IT ACUALLY WORKED!

I'm going to request the thread in the hack showcase be closed, I'm not leaving for the trip yet (I would be for a week and a half), but the thread isn't getting any attention and the comments on it are mostly from when it was in the scrapbox and when I got it trouble for doulble posting ;), I will start a new thread later.

I use pokescript
I have one minor problem in my new script, which is was too easy to fix. :) I will do it today or tomorrow.

cool, and you used pokescript to insert it as well then.
do you think you would be able to post a working copy of it? so that i can learn from it :P
and it seems that there is no decent XSE tut yet either :(
 
I made the script using notepad then I used PokeScript to compile it. Which would you like to see the town map giving or the one with the movement? I will sent you a copy to look at though PM, I don't want to post it, ok?

the movement one.
i know about item giving, that's easy.
 
It is in the PM I sent you, don't steal it please (I'm sure you won't :)).

This script:
gives the player 5 pokeballs and 1 greatball
informs the player about what to do
gives the player access to choose one of three pokemon (the guy move out of the way)

Since you are a mapper, before I realease my beta, which won't be too long, I will send the rom to you to check through it for errors. I haven't heard from Stevey for a while...

As for teams...

Elijhab-Beta Tester, Map error finder.

We both are lead mappers right, or did you want to be the only lead mapper?

What??? When did I say the stuff you quoted?

Did you make that up??? I could tell you just edited the stuff I said on a different post and copied changed it. Don't do that again or I will report you, that is not cool at all. Ok?

Anyway, you could me a spriter. I will ask you to do stuff soon.

Anyway, for your assignment, can you create sprites of two new people?

The first Sprite should be similar to this Overworld image-->

. For this, can you also make a back pic and pokeball throwing pic.

The second one, a picture of an old looking police officer.

It would be greatly appreciated, and I will put you in the team list too (I have requested that the thread in the hack showcase is closed, when a new one is opened later, you will see you name with the rest of the team).

Hey, I would love to join this one project temporarally.

Experiance: None. Just a few experiments here and there. I have most of the basics down.
Skills: I can come up with good storylines/ improve them/ give constructive feedback
Map editing I can do decently. Not expert-like.
Text Editing, I can do well, but I don't know anything about pointers.
I can do all the small things good like changing starters, base stats, and move sets.

I could learn more, as I still am. I am actually hoping to make my own hack.

Oh no, that's not what I meant (I already did all that (all 19) ), I meant if you could make a full picture of the main character look like that, so when people play this game, the see the new picture in the introduction. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. The over world is the small picture that moves and stuff, the sprite is the thing that is bigger. You know the picture of yourself when a wild Pokemon appear or when you are in the introduction choosing your gender, that is the sprite. I wanted that, I already made the small images. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks man, that is pretty cool, you don't mind if I change it a bit, do you (just the legs part)? The face and body and hat are great.
Do remember the pallete you used, just the number?

You can edit it, and yes the number was &H115, (and-ache-one-one-five), and I agree the legs stink.:laugh:
