Ruby hack: Pokemon Infinity

STORY/BASIC GIST OF IT:​

You take the role of a fifteen year old boy/girl, living in the small, quaint Budloom Town. You've lived here all your life, and... well, it's getting a little boring.
Which is why you're about to embark on a wonderful adventure with Pokémon!
Being more than old enough to become a Trainer, the local professor, Professor Spruce, calls you to his Lab to give you your very own Pokémon- however, there is a catch. Professor Spruce primarily studies Pokémon evolution, and his request is for you, your friend and your Rival are to travel across the Ohmma Region, filling the Pokédex as you go along. Along the way, collect the eight badges of the Ohmma Region, and eventually, challenge the Pokémon League Champion!
However... It's not going to be a cakewalk. With the recent landing of strange Meteors in the region, the people of Ohmma are wary of the strange triangular object found in the rubble at the crash site, and to a further extent, they are wary of the strange organisation calling themselves Team Technic. They claim to study Pokéon for the benefit of the human race...but could that be it? They seem very interested in the Meteors that landed...
And who on Earth are these 'Agents' dressed in white?

FEATURES:
-Graphics Overhaul:
Since I'm hacking Ruby... Well, the general agreement is that the default graphics are horrible, right? Therefore, I will of course be replacing most/ all of the graphics. Eventually, the tilesets will completely consist of my own custom tiles, however for now I will look into other's tiles(giving credit where it is due). For now, it's a mix of (a few of) my own tiles with FR Buildings.

-Compelling New Story:
I've thought long and hard about the Story. It's... Well, I think it's pretty good, hopefully as you guys play he hack, you will to.

-"New" Pokémon:
Among many Pokemon from the Advanced Gen Pokedex, numerous Sinnoh Pokemon will be present in Infinity. In the future, some Isshu Pokémon may also be inserted, but that's only if I like them. I'm not really one for guessing movesets and such, and definately not one for mixing English and Japanese names.

-Running Indoors:
Thanks to Hackmew, the ability to run while in any building has been implemented.

While they aren't the most impressive features in the world, I'm learning more and more about hacking all the time, so this list will likely grow.
I've a load of other stuff planned too, but none of it implemented or fully thought through, so I don't want to make empty promises if I have to scrap something. However, one thing you can almost certainly expect in future is custom music, made by yours truly.

Pokeyomom- For being my longest PC friend, and putting up with my babbling, and tardiness. He's also the Rival, so.. Yeah. He's awesome, and was always a great support, so thanks bro.

Intoxicated- Another of my best friends here at PC, an Irishman like myself. :D He's done a ton of overworlds for me- actually, CREDIT GOES TO HIM FOR THOSE, lol- including the super special awesome Hero overworld. The male protagonist is based on him. Similarly, he puts up with my terrible timekeeping and long-winded babbling, but that's what friends are for, hehe. Thanks man!

poopnoodle- I haven't actually spoken to her in months, but she's also a good friend of mine, and the female protagonist (to be seen at a later stage) is based on her. Thanks, Sav, for being a girl!

Trebornosliw- Over the past few months, he's become a good friend of mine, through working on his hack, Hidden Ties. He's offered some great scripting advice, and lets me beta test an AWESOME hack (b4 al of u, roflmao). He also gave some great advice when I needed help with my computer, and is somewhat of a role model in hacking, at least to me. Thanks, dude:)

Manipulation, the magic moderator- for helping me out on a really retarded scripting problem- really helped get things going, so thanks very much for that. Also, he's amazingly sexy and awesome <3~!

Chaos Rush- For a long time, very few people hacked Emerald. Now there's an eruption of Emerald hacks, but Chaos Rush did a lot of research into it, and shared alot of that research with me, for example, he shared a way to avoid Sound Corruption. He also gave a ton of resources such as a patch to replace all Kanto Pokémon with their FRLG Sprites, and recently, one to replace the text and textbox of Ruby with the Emerald text and text box. Granted, I am now hacking Ruby for this, but... It'll help in future ;) Thanks, Chaos Rush.

My real-life friend, Brian- For being the only other person in a 200 mile radius who tolerates Pokemon, and giving me computer help when I seriously needed it- even though I lost everything, he helped me get it back up and running, which was more important at the time. Thanks bud!

I'm kinda confused with the storyline. But do you mean the professor that will give you your starter pokemon is also aiming to be the champion. So that makes the rival 3? ;_; Correct me if I'm wrong though. XD

Um, no. There are 3 characters trying to fill the Pokedex for the Professor- you (the player), your childhood friend (the opposite-gender-equivalent of the player) and the Rival. I don't really know how you got that from it, I didn't think it was unclear, sorry.
Essentially, it means you have two Rivals. In Infinity, I make use of the character like May/Dawn/Lyra, except you actually get to battle her at various points in the story. I always found it annoying how you didn't battle either Dawn or Lyra in DPPt and HGSS.

Sorry about nitpicking, but the FR/LG mom bugs me. Even though this isn't a G/S/C remake, I've seen many G/S/C remakes use the FR/LG mom, even though Red and Gold/Ethan DO NOT have the same mother. I think you should make up a new custom mom, since I also doubt that your protagonist and Red have the same mother, too.

Also, IMO, the PokeCenter & Mart looks a little out of place. Perhaps you could use the FR/LG one? Since you're using FR/LG buildings anyway.

Gira, this is awesome. The thread’s up at long last. First of all, I really love the screenshots. The events seem interesting, even if you’ve yet to add any screens involving scripts.

Team Technic sounds pretty cool. They actually sound as if they know what they’re doing. I can’t wait to see how they’re properly involved in the plot. I’m dying to see Professor Spruce too.

I’m really excited to see the female protagonist. I saw the reference image of her a couple of months ago and I can’t wait to see how you change it up. I also like how the protagonist you don’t choose isn’t just a guide.

I love the graphics. Your tiles work really nicely and I love the colours you’ve used. This is just the start and I’m already impressed. I’m actually looking forward to this more than Black and White. For me, that’s saying a lot.

It’s actually really nice to see my name up there so thank you. <3 And my timing hasn’t always been great either. After seeing this though, I have a feeling I’ll be a lot more committed to getting online.

Yeah, it's just there as a placeholder, I thought the same thing as you, so I just stuck her in there so there wouldn't be an RSE sprite with a FireRed one. There will be a custom mother, eventually, but to be honest she doesn't do too much, anyway.
Also, the center and mart... I dunno. I know where you're coming from, but it seems alright to me, to be honest.

@Faline, I think the confusion could be due to the layout of the first post. I had to do it with my mobile, so it was all squashed (or so I'm told). But I had Manipulation take a look, and he said it's fine now. Either way, I'll be doing it myself when I get a chance, and eventually put some nice CSS up there. Eventually.

@dead-man-walking, when I say alot of humour, I mean in comparison to the official games. You know, how there... Isn't that much. It'll be the type of humour that makes the game a little less childish, but without swearing or sexual references. A few clever quips here and there, you know?
Update coming eventually. I've hit a bit of wall with something right now, and I'm trying various things to overcome it.. May have to restart, but I've done that about twelve times by now, so it's become second nature.

Now, I'm glad my motto is never assume. It is hacks like this that make me glad of this, as despite the lack of CSS, this does look good. Even though the features aren't impressive, I'm sure you've got great plans for this (and after reading, I can tell how picky you are about tiles... Ah, you remind me of me...), so if you want any help with tiles (well... Doubt you'll need it), feel free to ask. But, this hack does seem like it could go far. Never give up, especially with this one!

UPDATE OF SORTS!​

Infinity has been switched to Ruby temporarily. I've already caught up to where I was in Emerald- in fact, I'm a bit further, because scripting the story has begun properly. Knocking all the NPCs out of the way first, but it's going well. Will update with some story-script screens when they're done :D
It should be noted that I'm still studying the Emerald version of Infinity, and when I work out all the kinks (regarding scripting problems, free space, etc), Infinity will resume as an Emerald hack. I know, I know, it seems like a huge waste of time, but I much prefer Emerald as a base, to FireRed or Ruby. Having said that, I was tired of not making any progress story-wise on the hack, so I'd like to keep it going. Anyway, if you can decipher this waffle, good job ;D

Yeah... maybe it's just experience with Quartz and Warped. Don't get it wrong. Both are awesome but the story feels like a garbled mass of cliche.

I love your screenshots, absolutely awesome. The game plot seems pretty standard, but then, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?
Btw, this is a side note, but I absolutely agree on Lyra. The complete absence of a battle drove me nuts. My most fervent desire is to pound that Marrill into a pulp...
