"Pokemon is Just a Phase"

Did your family think you'd grow out of Pokemon when you became an adult?

I'm sure my parents thought I would. But *stares at his 100+ things of Pokemon merch & Pokemon bedspread* nope, it wasn't a phase.

I'm sure they did lol, though I dunno if they realize how much I still love it today. I don't talk much about it with them (not because I don't want to admit it, but because they have their lives to worry about and the conversation of games doesn't come up much). I see myself being a fan for a very long time. :D

I'm guessing my family thought the same, Pokemon started in the USA a year before I went to high school, got into metal, my family thought "Pokemon was just a phase" - but across time, countless games, t shirts, plushies later, I'm still going strong

now I get to combine my love of Pokemon and my love of metal too

Well if it was a phase then it's been a 20 year phase lol and now I've got kids I've managed to convince them how great it is, so hopefully another generation of pokemon fans lol

I'm sure they thought of it but then it kinda never happened lol. My mom is actually weirdly proud of it...? I used to moderate one of the biggest Pokemon role-playing community websites in my mother language and met a lot of people from there in real life, so I had to explain to her what it all was about and now she mentions that I "have made a website about Pokemon" every time Pokemon comes up somewhere lol
They were also kinda amazed when Pokemon Go got me out of the house more, so they don't mind, they know how important it is for me.
