I hadn't changed the shiny DV formula compared to the original, so it's the same odds as in vanilla Crystal. What are the shiny odds? :)

Just wanted to say, you're a madman.
With that out of the way, I'm barely getting into Pokemon rom hacks, and this one is one of the first I've tried.
The first one I played was PureRed and that one for sure gave me a hard time, up until the missingno cheat (which I did use by default because after playing Red since release I've done that glitch every play through since. So it's a habit and it did make the game that much easier.
Now for Lunatic Crystal. My god what a challenge. Hats off to you sir. Usually just playing the vanilla version of these games I can do it while falling asleep and still be on autopilot. Let's just say it took me longer than it should have just to get the first 2 badges.
Currently I am fighting the elite four with no chance of moving forward anytime soon (no money after using all my revives and hyper potions already) 😂
This game is a challenge but once you get the groove and the hang of it then you can blaze through it.
One thing I have noticed and it's just an observation and not a gripe is that only a handful of GameShark codes work for this hack. Don't know if that's for all hacks (since I'm new to the hack community) or just this one and you disabling them.
The ones I did test and got results for though is:
The Shiny encounter hack, the Pokemon encounter hack, and the Pokemart any item available to be bought hack. All others freeze up your game.
I don't know which version I am playing of this hack, but one glitch I have noticed is when you scroll too fast in the item bag you go past where it says close bag and then the game freezes. Again don't know if this has been patched already and I'm playing an older version.
In conclusion I will continue to play this hack due to it's difficulty and how long it will take me to beat the elite four and good work and good job to you 👍🏼
I am playing v1.6 and I am using the Delta emulator on my iPhone (:Hi, thanks for your kind words and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the hack! Good luck with the rest of the game :)
Most of the GameShark cheat codes will not work on Pokemon Lunatic Crystal because of all the data changes that were implemented in this ROM, mostly due to the fact that I've added in a lot of events, expanded the bag size and added new functions and code. It all depends on how much the hack is different from vanilla in that regard, a hack with simple changes to the trainer teams, maps and encounters should have all the codes work with no issue, but hacks made in Dissasembly like mine will have that issue.
I assume you must be playing the current 1.6 version if you've downloaded the game here or on RomHacking, though there are sites which have an older version of my ROM. In the intro screen of v1.6 the current version is listed next to the year and the name of the creator. In any case, I'm currently working on an update and I haven't ran into this glitch on the new version. But this might be an emulator problem as well, are you playing on mGBA or are you using a different emulator?
Currently not, no.Is there a discord for this romhack?
Any idea when you'll be releasing this updated version???I'm working on a new version of Lunatic Crystal which will be by far and away the largest, and probably final update.

First of all, a little Quality of Life change, the EXP. Share has been improved and it no longer displays individual EXP gain for all Pokemon, instead it now displays the text pictured in the screenshot above, this makes grinding and all battles that much smoother.
I also introduced a new rival in Lyra, who will take the third starter that wasn't picked by neither you nor Silver and she will challenge you at various points in the story. So far I've managed to implement 3 battles for her and I have plans to give her 7 battles in total. She also has a brand new event where she obtains the starter.
Switch mode has now been removed from Lunatic Crystal, the default and only option is now Set Mode for an extra layer of difficulty. The only difference between important battles and generic trainers is now that you can't heal in important battles.
The linearity and progression of the story has also been slightly altered to accommodate the new mandatory battles, such as the Lyra fights. This comes in the form of new events such as Whitney in the Radio Tower. This is also an attempt to ensure that the player obtains all the important items and does not need to backtrack later. Including the Lyra fights in Johto, there will be around 8 extra mandatory fights for the player to take on. This is also meant to fill out Johto and make it feel like a complete region that can stand on its' own.
Talking about bosses, some have also seen changes to their roster to give more screentime to more Pokemon, as well as to make them more challenging. The rival teams have also seen big changes in order to make them more fitting for each character, as well as more challenging for each section of the game.
Probably around December at the earliest.Any idea when you'll be releasing this updated version???
Awesome. Can't wait.Probably around December at the earliest.
I have completed the main game content, a lot of extra battles have been added in, some extra QoL stuff as well and some extra post-game content. I have some other ideas that I would like to add like restoring some of Kanto's locations or updating the Battle Tower rosters and changing content there.
Right now I'm testing to see if there any glitches in the current build and most of the work I have left are the maps and the Battle Tower, I'm satisfied with the amount of bosses and the challenge the game presents.
Yeah, the most important bosses do have Level Caps, so in that sense easily available Rare Candies wouldn't be a bad idea, but at the same time there is the argument that a player could overlevel all the mid-bosses and generic trainers and decrease the challenge there.I wish there was an option to buy candy earlier at a low price to cut out the grind. Since the game seems to have level caps, this would be perfect for those who do challenges etc.
The hack seems perfect in many ways but it would be so nice to be able to level up the mons at any time without depending on EXP grind. I know there's candy scattered around the world but that doesn't help my friend to want to play cross stream challenge with me, because that bastard has gotten too used to games like Radical Red having one of the best grindless options. Ty for the hard work man!
I completely understand your point of view man. And thanks again for the awesome hack!!Yeah, the most important bosses do have Level Caps, so in that sense easily available Rare Candies wouldn't be a bad idea, but at the same time there is the argument that a player could overlevel all the mid-bosses and generic trainers and decrease the challenge there.
That and my hack already offers a lot of improvements in regards to gaining EXP and there isn't any point, at any of my test runs where excessive grinding was needed (with EXP Share you're pretty much on par with all the bosses and mid-bosses) unless you really wanted to level up severly underleveled Pokemon for some of the later sections of the ROM. That, and there are candies available post Blue already. So it'd make that system null in a sense as well.
But I could be convinced to implement a leveling item if the demand is there, I think I will make it into a poll actually.
EDIT: There is only one poll allowed here, the other poll is here: https://strawpoll.com/YVyPvdQ31gN
