6th Gen POKEMON ORAS PLAYTHROUGH

Good battle Black Talon! I think it was only due to luck I won... if you'd hit my Taillow with that Rock Tomb it would have been a totally different outcome.

Yeah double team is OP. Especially against a move that doesn't have 100 accuracy.

Tbh the only reason I used Double Team was because I didn't want to take out your Kirlia after it having used Destiny Bond. That shit was scary lol. I'm going to replace Double Team with Roost as soon as I get the chance though, I forget what level I learn it.

I think I just have Jagold left to battle against?

Well I am going to play now should get the badge by tomorrow
Welcome! You joined just in time to hit our Deadline! lol
It's no worries though! Hope to battle you tomorrow, I'll be on all day though so if you hit our cap today I'm available for battle! I'll add you into my friends list.

Awesome! I'll be around tomorrow too. Just wondering, on the main post it says our party is fixed, so does that mean that the six we catch are the only six we can use?

Nope!
So the locked team is the pokemon you pick to fight us with. You may pick any three pokemon of what you have collected so far, you post them on here as your three battling members, and then they are locked in as your team until you post on here again making a request to swap your current battling party members for different ones as well as a small explanation as to why you are swapping it.
You are only allowed to play with three pokemon in your playable team against each of us until we have acquired the fourth badge, after that you may have a party of six pokemon to battle against us instead of just three.

However, during your initial playthrough of the game, you may play with as many pokemon on your team as you like. You can fight NPC's and such with a full team of six, the three pokemon limit is only while fighting us.

I see. Thanks for clearing that up

We've kind of been changing/creating the rules as we go, so I understand your confusion. How it works is: we sign up, claiming at least our starter Pokemon. As soon as you catch another one, you post in this thread stating which species. The post may contain as much or as little information about it as you'd like, but you have to at least tell us what species of Pokemon it is. Before the 4th badge, we may only have up to 3 Pokemon (just to speed things up). After the 4th badge, we can choose to catch up to three more Pokemon for our party, bringing us up to a maximum of 6. The same rule about posting applies here; you have to at least tell us the species of Pokemon, but any other little surprises (a couple perfect IVs, egg moves, HA, etc) can be left out. Should one of your Pokemon evolve after you claim it, and before you get the chance to battle anyone, you don't need to update or post again - count it as another little "surprise". Evolutions can be easily predicted anyway so long as you know what level Pokemon we're dealing with (and we will).

If you want to swap Pokemon, you have the chance to do so at the beginning of each "section". So, for example, tomorrow when we start the Knuckle Badge section, everyone will get a chance to swap one or all of their Pokemon. Keeps things fresh, and this wasn't meant to be super competitive anyway. Just for fun :)

I'm gonna re-write the rules in a bit though and add everything we've tweaked/come up with together. I'll also add you to the list of players right now, and your FC to my system :) Welcome to the play-through.

Okay I understand now. Can you add that my mudkip is called Finnick?

Absolutely :)

Guys I have a question for you. How do you feel about only using Pokemon obtainable up to our current progress in game, MINUS that "special starter" we can have? I think it would add a level of fairness, to a degree. I understand if we've planned our teams outside the Hoenn Pokedex though, so if this is a problem for you speak up! Make your voice heard :p

This wouldn't particularly bother me as my team is all obtainable thought Hoenn, but I'm not really against using Pokemon from the national dex and other games :)

I think I feel like it would make this play-through seem more unique to ORAS and the Hoenn region, too. But I agree with you, Legend, I'm not against it either. Was just an idea.

I get your point and I don't disagree with that either. It would give this play through a proper Hoenn/ORAS feel to it

I'm fine either way.

My current "Dream Team" is completely obtainable in the Hoenn pokedex. So it wouldn't bother me if you decided to put a "Hoenn Team" only restriction on the play through.
If we have the Hoenn only restriction, maybe we can just have an agreement to try and fight one another with our perfect teams after we all complete the playthrough, that way we can all see one another's power in battling with no restrictions at the end. :D
